Chapter 26

Chapter 26

Thinking about being able to see her children every day.

Even though her husband and his first love were being all lovey-dovey behind her, Ella still forced herself not to care.

They were going to divorce sooner or later anyway.

When that time came, she would take her two children and disappear from Joshua's life forever.

So it was nothing to put up with a little humiliation now.

In the back seat, seeing that Ella really had no reaction at all.

Joshua removed Scarlett's hand and leaned back against the seat with his eyes closed.

His face had sharp, chiseled features, cold and handsome. Even though he looked very aloof and distant, people still couldn't help wanting to get close to him.

Scarlett deliberately leaned against him, saying in a sweet voice.

"Joshua, what's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"

"Yeah, didn't sleep well last night."

Joshua answered casually.

Thinking about last night, his mind was now full of images of him and Ella making love in bed.

He opened his eyes again and looked at Ella driving, not believing she didn't love him.

If she didn't love him, how could she be so passionate beneath him.

If she didn't love him, how could she sleep with him.

Or maybe she was like that with every man?

Otherwise, how could Ella have been with someone else abroad and even had two children.

The more Joshua thought about it, the more suffocated he felt.

He thought he must be crazy!

Why was he always letting Ella control his emotions.

Really unhappy with himself like this, Joshua said out loud.

"Pull over. Scarlett and I want some alone time, we don't need you following us."

Hearing this, Ella gripped the steering wheel even harder.

No matter how much it hurt inside, she still held on and pulled the car over to the side.

After she got out, Scarlett moved to the passenger seat and Joshua drove.

Soon, the car sped away.

Ella watched the direction they disappeared in. Even though she was holding it together, her heart couldn't help but ache.

She knew she had no right to care who Joshua was with.

After they left, couldn't she go back to the manor to be with her children?

Ella adjusted her mindset and took a cab back to the manor.

Aurora and Dorian were so happy to see Ella come back, surrounding her. They kept asking.

"Mommy, when will that daddy come again?"

Joshua was so good-looking, tall and big. Being with him felt like it would be very safe.

Aurora thought about how she even dreamed about Joshua last night. She really hoped he would come again.

Ella looked at Aurora and corrected her, "Don't call him daddy. He probably won't come again anyway."

Joshua didn't like her children.

How could he possibly come again.

Maybe even before they got divorced, Scarlett would already be pregnant with his child.

Of course a man would prefer his own biological children.

Dorian frowned, his bright, beautiful big eyes full of confusion.

"Why? Mommy, aren't you and him husband and wife? Why can't we call him daddy?"

He and Aurora both quite liked that stepdad.

Ella felt bitter inside, stroking the child's head.

"Kids don't understand adult matters. Anyway, mommy will separate from him. You probably won't see him again in the future, so don't worry about him."

She just didn't know how much longer she'd have to be entangled with Joshua.

Sometimes, she really wished they could divorce quickly so she could leave with the children right away.

Aurora and Dorian really didn't understand what was going on between Ella and Joshua.

But they could only listen to Ella, so they stopped mentioning Joshua.

In the afternoon, Ella took some time to go to the Thomas Manor again.

Aiden's health was still not good.

She wanted to stay overnight at the Thomas Manor to keep Aiden company.

But Aiden hoped she could have a child with Joshua soon, so he insisted on sending her away, wanting her to spend couple time with Joshua.

Little did he know, the couple was both planning their divorce.

When Ella returned to the manor absent-mindedly, it was already ten o'clock.

She was about to go rest with the children when Brian called.

He said. "Mrs. Thomas, sorry to bother you so late. I'm away on business. Mr. Thomas has been drinking at a nightclub. Could you drive over and pick him up?"

Ella thought about how Joshua had been with Scarlett all day today.

So he must have taken Scarlett there too, right?

Why didn't he have Scarlett take him home?

She wanted to refuse, but after Brian gave her the address, he hung up.

Ella had no choice. Without even going inside, she drove to the nightclub.

She searched for a long time before finding the private room where Joshua was.

When she pushed the door open, a circle of people sitting inside were chanting for them to kiss.

No one noticed her at all.

The next second, Ella saw Scarlett lean toward Joshua and kiss him on the lips.

Joshua sat there without making any move, and didn't push Scarlett away either.

Then, the sound of friends applauding and whistling filled the room.

Ella stood stiffly at the door watching.

Her eyes felt like they had sand in them, so sore she couldn't help wanting to cry.

Her heart hurt in waves.

Ella dug her fingertips into her flesh, trying to distract from the pain in her chest.

Fortunately, the lighting in the private room was dim, so probably no one would notice her caring expression.

Someone noticed her presence and reminded the others.

"Why is there an extra person here?"

Everyone looked at Ella.

People in Joshua's circle all knew Ella.

What they knew about Ella was that she was shameless, living off the Thomas family, and even fantasizing about becoming Joshua's wife.

She had no self-awareness.

And she always liked to follow Joshua around.

Now seeing Joshua with Scarlett in his arms, completely ignoring Ella's existence.

They didn't take Ella seriously at all, mocking her.

"Joshua, your little nanny really won't leave you alone."

"Joshua, with her around, you can't marry Scarlett, can you?"

"This person is really shameless. The Thomas family gave her money to study abroad on the condition she wouldn't come back, but she came back with a thick face anyway."

"Poor Joshua and Scarlett, being torn apart again."

Ella listened. She opened her mouth wanting to curse back.

But then Scarlett suddenly got up and walked toward her, scolding those people.

"What are you all talking about? Ella isn't like that at all. The reason she came here must be because Mr. Aiden Thomas told her to."

Then she reached out to pull Ella over, smiling gently.

"Ella, don't listen to their nonsense. Come sit down, let's have a few drinks together."

Ella didn't give Scarlett a pleasant look. She shook off her hand and looked at Joshua.

"Are you leaving now? If you're leaving, I'll take you. If not, keep drinking and I'll wait for you in the car."

This bastard.

He called her dirty before.

Who knows who's dirty now.

Just got out of her bed tonight and turned around to hold another woman in his arms.

Thinking about his behavior, Ella just felt disgusted.

Joshua hadn't drunk much.

Sitting there with an elegant posture, he looked down at Ella.

"Is this the attitude a secretary should have?"

Ella thought about how he could restrict her from seeing the children at any time, so she had to humble herself.

"Mr. Thomas, then you take your time drinking. I'll wait for you outside."

She turned to leave.

Joshua's cold voice rang out again.

"Ella, don't you want money? Come drink with them. You could probably make a hundred thousand dollars in one night."
