Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Ella watched Joshua disappear at the private room entrance, her heart sinking.

What did he mean by this?

Leaving her behind to serve these old men?

Ella refused the drink the old man in front of her offered, still being polite, "Sorry, I don't drink."

But the old men had no intention of letting her off.

Joshua's intention was to hand Ella over to them as a gift, wasn't it?

They had never seen Joshua being so generous before. Knowing their preferences, he specially brought them a young one.

Thinking she was brought by Joshua, the men each held up their glasses, trying to get Ella's attention.

"How could someone close to Mr. Thomas not drink? Are you looking down on me?"

"Don't forget you're just a secretary. Don't ruin everyone's fun."

"You should know why Mr. Thomas left you here. Just drink up!"

Ella couldn't refuse.

They forcefully held up glasses and poured alcohol into her mouth.

She choked uncomfortably, but they still wouldn't let her go, continuing to push glasses toward her.

Ella drank several glasses in a row, her throat burning with pain.

She didn't know if it was the alcohol, but her vision started to blur.

Even her mind became foggy and unclear.

Ella really couldn't drink anymore, but she couldn't escape either.

This scene reminded her of that dark night four years ago.

She had also been controlled by alcohol, desperately trying to escape, but couldn't get away.

In the end, she was violated.

Ella tried hard to stay conscious, looking toward the private room door for help.

How she hoped Joshua would come back soon and take her away.

Even if he hated her and wanted revenge.

But how could he throw her to a bunch of old men?

As her mind gradually lost consciousness, Ella never saw the door being pushed open.

She never waited for Joshua.

Her heart turned cold. She slumped into a chair, got drunk, and collapsed on the dining table, unconscious.

At this moment, in the restroom.

Joshua knew clearly what kind of people were at today's dinner.

Usually they all looked respectable, but in fact, what they did behind the scenes was filthy.

Somehow, he suddenly felt a bit panicked.

The next second, Joshua turned and rushed straight to the private room.

He pushed open the door.

Seeing the chaos inside, a man was next to Ella, his hand wandering over her body.

Joshua's eyes turned cold. He strode over, grabbed the man's hand, and violently twisted it until it broke.

The man screamed in pain.

Everyone was scared sober, immediately standing aside, not daring to make a sound.

Joshua picked up Ella in his arms and swept his eyes over everyone with overwhelming presence.

"I only asked her to drink a few glasses with you on my behalf. How dare you put your hands on her?"

Joshua really felt these people were hypocrites, not one of them decent.

Joshua carried Ella past them and left.

He placed Ella in the passenger seat, fastened her seatbelt, and had to personally drive her home.

Ella was quite drunk.

This triggered a stress response in her. Her whole body curled up, huddled in the seat, her mind full of what happened four years ago.

She struggled desperately, crying and calling for help.

"No, please don't do this."

"I didn't mean to, don't touch me, let me go, let me go."

Ella cried out loud. If she hadn't been wearing a seatbelt, she would have struggled even more violently.

Joshua drove while watching her.

He thought Ella was drunk and acting crazy.

But seeing her cry, huddled there with a frown on her small face, her black hair covering her face, tears all over making her look so pitiful.

Joshua's heart ached inexplicably.

Finally, he had to reach over and hold her head to comfort her, "Ella, don't be afraid. I'm taking you home right now."

"Don't touch me, get away, get away."

Ella roughly pushed Joshua's hand away. Because she was wearing a seatbelt, she could only press tightly against the seat back, struggling in pain.

Joshua knew she wasn't faking it.

She seemed really scared.

Her small face was full of terror.

Joshua stepped hard on the gas. After arriving home, he personally carried Ella to the bedroom.

Even after gently placing Ella on the bed, Joshua still saw her tears flowing non-stop, her expression painful.

Her small mouth was even murmuring.

"Why are you doing this to me?"

"I didn't mean to, I know I was wrong, I'm sorry!"

"Joshua, I really love you. Because I love you, I didn't dare tell you about Aurora Dorian's existence. I was afraid you wouldn't want me."

Ella curled up and hugged herself again, sobbing and crying.

But clearly, she still wasn't conscious.

Joshua sat beside her, staring at her.

His heart felt quite uncomfortable.

Love him?

How could she have a child with someone else if she loved him?

If she loved him, how could she keep hiding it from him?

Joshua told himself to calm down.

Ella didn't deserve to be his wife.

Not wanting to care about her anymore, he got up to leave.

Ella suddenly propped herself up and started vomiting on the floor.

Joshua still left, letting Karen take care of her.

That night was very hard for Ella.

She vomited all night. Only when dawn came did she finally sleep peacefully for a while.

When Ella woke up, it was ten in the morning.

Sitting up, she found herself sleeping in the master bedroom she shared with Joshua.

The bed where they used to sleep as husband and wife.

Ella was a bit dazed, sitting on the bed, trying hard to recall what happened last night.

She remembered Joshua throwing her to a group of old men, those men constantly forcing her to drink, and Joshua never appearing from beginning to end.

So Joshua thought she was dirty and should go entertain those men?

Although she didn't expect him to still have feelings for her, his actions still cut her heart like a knife.

At this moment, Karen pushed the door open and asked with concern, "Mrs. Thomas, are you feeling better?"

Ella raised her hand to wipe away the tears from her eyes and took the porridge Karen handed her.

"How did I get back last night?"

Maybe Brian brought her back.

Someone like Joshua would never care about her life or death.

Karen said, "Mr. Thomas carried you back. Mrs. Thomas, why did you drink so much?"

Ella held the bowl in her hands, somewhat stunned.

Joshua carried her back?

He eventually returned to the private room and took her away?

But if he was worried about her, why did he throw her to those people?

Ella really couldn't figure out Joshua's thoughts.

She silently buried her head and drank the porridge.

At this moment, the phone on the nightstand rang.

It was Patricia calling.

Ella picked it up and immediately answered.

On the phone, Patricia said anxiously, "Ms. Garcia, do you want to come see Aurora? She has a high fever, and the people here won't let us see a doctor. I don't know what to do."

Hearing this, Ella panicked and quickly reassured her, "Patricia, first help her reduce the fever using your method. I'll be right there."

Without time to think, she quickly handed the bowl to Karen and got out of bed to change clothes.

While changing, she asked Karen, "Has Joshua left?"

Seeing her anxiety, Karen nodded, "Mr. Thomas left early this morning. Mrs. Thomas, what's wrong?"

"Nothing."

Ella didn't dare mention her child. Thinking that she needed Joshua's permission to enter the estate to see her child.

She didn't dare delay and immediately drove to the company.
