Chapter 145
Joshua had just arrived at the company.
He received a message from his people.
They said Ella and Zachary had gone out, but didn't bring Dorian.
Joshua sat in the executive chair in his office, looking gloomy, not understanding why Ella and Zachary would leave Dorian at home and go out.
Were those two going on a date again like before?
Thinking about the collaboration projects between the two companies, several of them were signed by Ella and him, Joshua pulled out his phone and called Heath, asking Ella to come to his company to discuss the project.
Heath knew exactly what Joshua was thinking.
He wanted to use work as an excuse to pester Ella.
He deliberately waited a long time before calling Ella.
But by that time, Ella and Zachary had already come out of the marriage registration office.
The two each held a marriage certificate, their feelings mixed.
But Zachary was happy.
No one could understand his joy at getting what he wished for, the smile on his handsome face impossible to hide.
"To celebrate this wonderful day, Ella, I'll take you somewhere."
He finally could openly and legitimately hold Ella's hand, ready to take her to properly enjoy their world as husband and wife.
Before Ella could respond, the phone rang.
She pulled out her phone and saw it was Heath calling, and answered without hesitation.
On the phone, Heath asked, "Ella, did you two get the marriage certificate?"
Ella said yes.
Heath first congratulated Ella, then sighed and said, "Joshua's gone crazy again about something, wants you to come to his company about the 8377 project."
Ella looked down at Zachary holding her hand.
Looking at the marriage certificates they each held.
Perhaps she should let Joshua know that she was married.
No matter what he did, there was no possibility between them anymore.
And Dorian could never become his child.
Ella knew that Heath wouldn't have called her unless he had no other choice.
She didn't want to put Heath in a difficult position, so she agreed.
When Ella put away her phone, she looked at Zachary and said, "Come with me to work, let's finish the work first, then we can celebrate later."
Since she had decided to marry Zachary and wasn't leaving, she should put aside those worries and manage this marriage properly and wholeheartedly. She couldn't repeat the same mistakes.
"Okay, I'll do whatever you say."
Zachary held Ella's hand as they walked down the steps, opened the car door, and personally drove her to the Thomas Group building.
He thought Ella would still have concerns and probably wouldn't bring him in front of Joshua.
He didn't want to do things that would put Ella in a difficult position either.
After all, Ella was now his wife. Even if Ella went back to work beside Joshua, he wouldn't mind.
But before getting out of the car, Ella said, "Your work here isn't settled yet, right? So during this time, stay with me and teach me how to work in business."
Between husband and wife, shouldn't they support each other?
Heath said Mason was unstable, and he wasn't comfortable handing the company to him.
He wanted her and Mason to be equals, managing the company together in the future.
Since she chose not to leave, Ella felt that what Heath and Rhea were giving her, she should accept.
It would also be good preparation for Dorian's future.
"Okay."
Zachary was somewhat moved.
He really didn't expect Ella would be willing to bring him along even when working.
Even though he knew Ella married him possibly just to prevent Joshua's pestering, or to upset Joshua, her including him in everything still gave Zachary great confidence in their marriage.
The two got out of the car together and went to Joshua's office together.
At this moment, Joshua was busy in a meeting.
When the meeting ended and he walked out of the conference room, Brian came over to report, "Mr. Thomas, Ms. Garcia is here. I had her wait in your office."
He didn't dare say that Zachary had come along too.
Afraid Joshua would get angry and take it out on him.
Joshua wouldn't have thought Ella would bring Zachary. He just wanted to have some alone time with Ella in the office, so he told Brian to go about his business.
However, when he pushed open the office door, seeing the two people sitting on the sofa inside, Joshua's handsome face instantly darkened.
But then he thought, Ella must have deliberately brought Zachary to upset him.
He had to suppress the discomfort in his heart and hold back his anger as he walked over.
"I want to talk to you about work. This is business confidential. Who told you to bring him?"
Joshua walked over, directly expressing his displeasure.
Ella didn't indulge him, actively raising her hand to hold Zachary's hand, stating frankly, "Zachary and I are husband and wife. From now on Zachary will be involved in company matters. There's nothing he can't know."
Actually, when saying this, Ella's heart was nervous.
Afraid Joshua would get angry and do something extreme.
But thinking that since things had come to this point, why should she still fear him.
"What did you say?"
Joshua's eyes stared deadly at Ella holding Zachary's hand, his heart aching.
Zachary pulled out the marriage certificate, smiling, "We came in such a hurry, we didn't even prepare a wedding gift for Mr. Thomas. That's our oversight, but I think Mr. Thomas probably wouldn't want it anyway."
He held Ella's hand back, fingers interlocked, "Ella and I just got our marriage certificate, and Mr. Thomas called us in to work. Mr. Thomas, for old times' sake, why not give Ella a day off?"
Joshua looked at the bright red marriage certificate on the desk.
Looking at Ella and Zachary with their fingers interlocked, really like a loving couple, he felt dazed, really unable to accept it.
He had just left this morning.
And Ella went to get a marriage certificate with Zachary at noon?
No, it couldn't be.
Really unable to believe what he was seeing, Joshua walked over in two steps and grabbed the marriage certificate, opening it.
After confirming it had Ella and Zachary's names on it, along with the official seal symbolizing legal marriage, Joshua could no longer suppress the breakdown in his chest, threw the marriage certificate and looked at the two people in front of him, his eyes bloodshot, "Are you deliberately trying to provoke me?"
He fixed his gaze on Ella, unable to control his rage, "Ella, to hurt me, you deliberately married him to get revenge on me?"
He had clearly told Ella before that if she dared to be with any man, he would take Dorian away.
Why didn't Ella listen to him.
Why did she have to marry some random person in such a short time.
Joshua tried hard to calm himself down.
Being impulsive wouldn't solve the problem.
It would also hurt Ella.
He couldn't do anything more to make Ella angry, or it would be even harder to reconcile with her.
But his heart hurt so much.
Like it was being viciously torn apart.
"What do you mean to hurt you."
Ella looked at him, calm and detached, "If you hadn't called me back to the country back then, Zachary and I would have been together long ago."
"This time Zachary stayed for me. Naturally I won't push him away again."
"Joshua, you and I have no relationship anymore. I hope you won't bring personal emotions into work."
"Who told you we have no relationship."
Joshua couldn't bear it anymore, grabbed Ella in uncontrollable rage, his eyes blood red, "You're the mother of my child. You're my beloved. Without my permission, how dare you marry someone else."
His face was twisted.
Zachary immediately stood up to stop him from hurting Ella, "Joshua, let go of Ella."
"You really don't value your life."
Joshua's eyes darkened, ruthlessly turned and grabbed Zachary and beat him up again, "You dare to take my woman. You've got some nerve."
Joshua completely lost his rationality, grabbing Zachary and beating him nearly to death.
This time Zachary wasn't willing to let him off anymore, clenched his fist and fought back.
The two men wrestled together, the scene bloody and violent.
Ella rushed to pull them apart.
It wasn't until she threw her whole body over Zachary to protect him that the two men stopped fighting.
Joshua's fist was still in mid-air.
Seeing Ella's figure suddenly throw herself over Zachary, his heart hurt terribly.
This was the woman he loved in his heart.
But now she was using her own body to protect another man.
And had become someone else's wife.
Joshua didn't know how he and Ella had come to this point.
This wasn't what he wanted.
He wanted Ella to bring Dorian back to his side.
The three of them living happily together as a family.
He didn't want to see Ella become someone else's wife, his own son calling someone else dad.
But how could he fix the current situation.
Joshua couldn't bear to watch Ella looking at another man with such concern.
He turned and left.
Joshua left his office, holding his bloody fist, suppressing his anger as he instructed Brian beside him, "Send people to the Lewis Villa immediately. I don't care how many people you use, you must take Dorian and send him to the Thomas Manor."
Brian nodded, seeing Joshua's face was swollen and his lip was bleeding.
He was a bit worried, "Mr. Thomas, are you okay? Should I get someone to treat your injuries?"
Brian thought that only Joshua and Zachary were in the office. Could it be that Zachary hit him?
Zachary actually came to the Thomas Group building to fight. Did he have a death wish?
As Brian was about to send people to teach Zachary a lesson, Joshua ignored him and strode away.
Brian quickly turned and entered the office, wanting to see what had happened.
He saw Ella holding Zachary, who was covered in blood. Zachary was injured even more seriously, lying in Ella's arms like he was dying.
He didn't meddle, first went to send people to take Dorian to the Thomas Manor.
Ella didn't know why Joshua had been so ruthless, seeing that Zachary could barely stand up.
After calling the ambulance, she also called the police.
This time, she wouldn't let Joshua off.
The ambulance arrived quickly and rushed Zachary to the hospital.
Lying on the stretcher, seeing Ella crying because she felt sorry for him, although dizzy and indeed feeling he'd been beaten badly, Zachary still smiled to comfort her, "I'm fine. Don't worry about me."
Ella's face was full of guilt, her eyelashes still wet, "I'm sorry. If I hadn't asked you to come with me, you wouldn't have been beaten so badly by him."
"I'll get you justice, at least make him spend a few days in the police station."
