Chapter 105
Mason watched as Ella completely ignored him, brushing past him with those words.
Was it Joshua who gave her such confidence to disregard him like this?
Since he'd run into her here, there was no way he'd let her go.
Mason turned and chased after her, grabbing Ella's arm and roughly dragging her toward Scarlett's hospital room.
Ella was frail and easily dragged along.
She stumbled, raising her hand to struggle, "Mason, why are you getting involved in my business with Scarlett? If you're a man, let me go."
Mason showed no mercy and had no intention of releasing her, dragging her into the elevator, "You hurt Scarlett so badly. I let you off the first time, but you didn't learn your lesson and hurt her again. This time, if I don't make you pay, I'm not Scarlett's brother."
Mason didn't actually want to hurt Ella, but worried she wouldn't cooperate, he had to warn her, "When you see Scarlett, you'll apologize to her. If she forgives you, I won't pursue this further. Otherwise, I'll make you end up just like her."
Ella quietly pulled out her phone to call Joshua, then put it back in her pocket.
The elevator doors opened.
She was roughly yanked out by Mason.
After several failed attempts to break free, she was thrown into Scarlett's hospital room.
Ella stumbled a few steps, nearly falling.
Looking at Scarlett on the bed, it wasn't actually that serious.
She really regretted not using scalding hot porridge back then.
"Mason, why did you bring this bitch here?"
Scarlett's expression changed instantly when she saw Ella, wishing she could tear her to pieces.
Mason stepped forward, "I brought her to apologize to you. You decide what you want her to do."
Though he had previously promised Scarlett he would take Ella's life.
But this person was under Joshua's protection after all.
If he really made a move and things went wrong, he could end up in trouble himself. That wouldn't be worth it.
He loved Scarlett, but not enough to ruin his own life over it.
Besides, Scarlett still had feelings for Joshua.
"I want her to kneel and kowtow to me a hundred times. I want her to scratch up her own face and disfigure herself for me to see."
She didn't understand why Mason had brought her here, but since this was Mason's way of helping her get revenge, she didn't need to hold back.
Mason gestured to Ella, "Kneel down and kowtow."
Ella stood still, looking at the siblings with an unchanged expression, "I only kowtow to the dead."
Thinking of Aiden and Aurora's deaths, every time she saw Scarlett, she wanted to tear her apart.
One day, she would make Scarlett pay a terrible price.
"Mason, look how arrogant she still is."
Scarlett was furious, whining to Mason, "She doesn't know she's wrong at all, still so arrogant. Teach her a lesson."
Mason approached Ella and kicked her, forcing her to her knees.
Ella refused to submit and immediately tried to get up.
Mason held her down, ordering, "Kowtow to me. If you don't do a hundred, don't think about leaving."
Ella wouldn't comply and struggled with all her might.
The more she moved, the harder Mason pressed down on her.
During their struggle, something fell to the ground.
It was a half-key pendant made of gold.
Seeing it, Ella instinctively picked it up to put it away, but Mason snatched it from her.
Ella reached to grab it back, "Give it back to me."
Mason held it high, "Give it back to you? This is clearly my thing. Ella, you really are money-hungry."
He pocketed it, then kicked Ella to her knees again, forcibly pressing her head down to kowtow to Scarlett, "You hurt Scarlett like this. Kowtowing to her a few times isn't too much, is it?"
Ella couldn't break free from Mason's grip as her head was pressed to the ground, hitting it hard repeatedly.
She lost focus, thinking about the half-key Mason had pocketed.
Why was it identical to hers?
Then she remembered her key wasn't on her. She'd put it around Dorian's neck.
It was something she'd had since childhood.
Finn had once told her it was left by her parents when she was born.
But why would Mason have an identical one?
As her head bled from the impacts, Ella struggled to lift her head and look at Mason.
She felt he was somehow familiar.
Like she'd seen him somewhere before.
But she couldn't remember.
When she'd completely lost the strength to struggle, Scarlett approached with a fruit knife, "You made me disfigured, so today I'll disfigure you too."
She raised the knife to slash Ella's face.
Suddenly, the hospital room door was kicked open.
Scarlett looked up in fright.
Seeing Joshua appear, she immediately hid the knife and tried to explain, "Joshua..."
Joshua strode over, grabbed Mason and punched him twice hard, then pushed Scarlett aside before picking up Ella.
Seeing Ella covered in blood, the sight shocking, he glared coldly at the Lewis family siblings, "You two must have a death wish, daring to hurt my person."
Joshua didn't want to waste words with them. Truly worried about Ella's injuries, he immediately carried her away for treatment.
Seeing Joshua's fury, Scarlett was frightened.
She looked at Mason, "What do we do now? Joshua definitely won't let us off."
Damn it, why did Joshua have to see her holding a knife about to hurt Ella?
Now her image in Joshua's mind must be ruined.
No matter what, she still wanted to marry into the Thomas family.
The Thomas family was at least a tier above the Lewis family.
"What are you afraid of?"
Mason was unconcerned, pulling Scarlett close to comfort her, "Ella hurt you so many times. Isn't it right for you to get back at her once? Don't be afraid, I'm here for everything."
Scarlett was still angry and coldly pushed him away, "It's all your fault. Why did you bring Ella here in broad daylight? Don't you know to do things behind the scenes?"
Such a useless man, can't even handle a simple task properly.
Compared to Joshua, Mason was nowhere near his level.
Scarlett was disgusted with Mason and turned back to her bed.
Mason followed, fawning over her like a lapdog.
Ella was taken to a hospital room. As the doctor treated her head wound, she was in a daze.
She was still thinking about the half-key in Mason's possession.
Joshua stood beside her, heartbroken and guilty, asking in confusion, "Ella, what were you doing at the hospital? Did Mason bring you from Tranquil Villa?"
There was no way Ella would tell Joshua she came for a paternity test.
She didn't answer directly, looking at Joshua and asking something unrelated, "Do you know why the Lewis family adopted Scarlett?"
Joshua frowned, "Why are you asking about this?"
Ella had been so strange lately, always asking questions that had nothing to do with her.
"Just answer me."
Ella was getting impatient.
She had to figure out why Mason had the same golden key as her.
Joshua didn't hide it and told her the truth, "The Lewis family once had a daughter, about your age. When that little girl was three, she went out with Mason and saw Scarlett being bullied on the streets. She brought Scarlett home and asked her parents to keep her."
Ella pressed on, "What do you mean they 'once had' a daughter?"
Joshua continued, "Because after the Lewis family adopted Scarlett, about a year later, their daughter went missing and hasn't been found to this day."
