Chapter 71
Joshua's gaze pierced into Michael like daggers, his presence commanding without a hint of anger showing on his face.
"Who gave them permission to come? Get them out of here."
The bodyguards waiting nearby immediately stepped forward to remove Ella and Michael.
Michael raised his hand and waved.
Another group of bodyguards moved forward to block them.
The two forces faced off, evenly matched.
The two men also stood in confrontation, equally powerful. Even in the misty rain, you could feel the tension thick in the air.
But clearly, Michael had brought more bodyguards.
He had the upper hand.
Joshua didn't seem to care though. He glanced at Ella crying fake tears in front of Aiden's tombstone.
He threw out a threat, "Get lost, or I'll make sure you never see your daughter again."
Michael frowned, "My daughter?"
He didn't care at all.
But Ella heard it.
She immediately crawled over on her knees, grabbing Joshua's pant leg and asking urgently, "Joshua, you found my Aurora, didn't you?"
Joshua kicked her away coldly.
"Take your son and get out of my sight with that Michael."
This Ella's character was absolutely rotten to the core.
They hadn't even gone to court for the divorce yet, and she was already messing around with Michael again.
These past few days, she and Michael must have been in the same bed!
Joshua didn't want to think further. It made him sick.
"Ella."
Michael, unusually calm and restrained, crouched down to help Ella up.
Just as he was about to lose it, a child's innocent voice pulled him back to reason.
"How dare you kick my mom."
Dorian ran over, angrily kicked Joshua, lifted his little head, and glared at him.
"I knew from the start you weren't a good person. Good thing I didn't let you be my dad before."
"Men like you who bully women are the most disgusting."
Really feeling bad for Ella, Dorian also helped his mother up and comforted her, "Mom, don't listen to him. Dad will help us find Aurora. Let's go home with Dad."
Ella thought, how could Joshua have found her Aurora?
If his people could find her, Michael's people could too.
Seeing Scarlett with him.
Now that Aiden was no longer in the way, they'd probably get together soon.
Seeing that Aiden was already buried and crying in regret was useless, she struggled to stand up and signaled Michael to take her away.
Michael supported her, but as he turned around, he saw many uniformed police officers approaching.
A team of them marched straight up, surrounded him, and handcuffed him without hesitation.
The lead officer pulled out his badge, "Mr. Johnson, you've passed the final deadline. We have no choice but to deport you according to the law."
With that, the group took him away directly.
Michael had never been treated like this before.
But even though he was rich and had brought countless bodyguards, it was useless against the police.
The bodyguards stood by, not daring to move.
Michael knew this was Joshua's doing. The butler was right - his influence here couldn't match Joshua's, so he didn't struggle.
But he kept looking back every few steps at Ella and the child standing to the side.
"Ella, wait for me. I'll come back for you and the child."
Ella watched as Michael was taken away by the police, somewhat suspicious.
This time, Michael hadn't done anything wrong.
She hadn't called the police either.
The police seemed to have been waiting for him, coming straight to arrest him.
So Joshua arranged this?
Thinking it was actually good that Michael was taken away - this way she wouldn't have to go abroad with Dorian.
Just as she watched Michael get into the police car again and was about to leave with Dorian, Joshua's cold voice rang out, "If you want Aurora, go back to Tranquil Villa and kneel."
Ella froze, looked at Joshua and asked again, "You really found Aurora?"
Joshua didn't even want to look at her, didn't explain much, and walked past her to leave.
Scarlett held up an umbrella and followed.
She looked back at Ella, her eyes full of hatred.
Damn it, not only did Ella come back alive, but that little bastard of hers didn't die either.
Joshua clearly didn't know the child was his, so why was he still helping Ella look?
He even found her.
Thinking about how Joshua told Ella to go to Tranquil Villa again, worried that Joshua still couldn't let Ella go.
After getting in the car, Scarlett stirred things up.
"Joshua, why don't you just let Ella be with that man? They're a family of three after all. Otherwise Ella looks so pitiful."
Really didn't expect Ella to have met another man.
Were all those men blind, standing up for her one after another?
She just hoped that this time, Joshua wouldn't soften again.
Joshua told Brian to drive, completely ignoring Scarlett's words.
As the car drove away, he glanced in the rearview mirror at Ella and Dorian still standing in the cemetery.
He really wanted to pretend he didn't care, but his chest kept aching.
Ella saw that everyone had left, Joshua had left too.
She took Dorian back to Aiden's grave, pressed Dorian to kneel down, and cried as she introduced him to Aiden, "Grandpa, this is my child. His name is Dorian, he's three years old this year."
Then she looked at Dorian and taught him, "Dorian, call him great-grandpa."
Dorian looked at the tombstone in front of him, wet from the rain.
Looking at Aiden's smiling face on the tombstone, he obediently called out, "Hello great-grandpa, my name is Dorian."
He even knew to kowtow to Aiden, doing it three times in a row.
Ella stroked the tombstone again, staying with Aiden for a long time. Seeing the rain getting heavier and afraid Dorian would catch a cold, she had to leave first.
They took a taxi back to Tranquil Villa.
Getting out of the car, Dorian couldn't quite understand.
"Mom, why are we back here? This place is Mr. Thomas's house. He's so mean, I don't want to live with him."
Michael was fierce too, but at least he was good to him and Ella.
But Joshua? He actually kicked Ella.
That kind of man was so annoying.
Ella wasn't in great shape. Plus she'd gotten caught in the rain at the cemetery, and now she seemed completely out of it.
She stroked Dorian's head, saying weakly, "Joshua might have really helped us find Aurora. We have to come back to see Aurora."
Dorian still didn't believe it, "I think he's just lying to us. He wants to call you back to bully you."
He was still small now, couldn't beat Joshua.
Otherwise he would definitely protect Ella well.
"He probably wouldn't lie to me."
Ella supported her trembling body and went forward to ring the doorbell.
Karen came to open the door, shocked and quickly ushering her into the courtyard.
"Mrs. Thomas, you're back. Why are you soaking wet?"
Ella asked her, "Has my Aurora come back?"
Karen said hesitantly, "It seems Aurora was found. Patricia has already been sent to take care of her, but I'm not sure where exactly. Mr. Thomas hasn't brought her back."
Ella was somewhat delighted.
Good that she was found.
And Patricia was sent to take care of her, so her Aurora must still be alive.
When Ella took Dorian's hand and tried to go inside to thank Joshua, Karen stopped her. "Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Thomas said you should kneel in the courtyard. You're not allowed inside."
