Chapter 65
Ella hung up the phone. As soon as she stepped out of her room, she saw Samuel walking toward her.
Thinking about how Samuel was the children's father.
Knowing he must have something to discuss with her, she kept her head down, trying to avoid him.
But Samuel raised his hand to stop Ella. Looking at her expression that seemed to wish him dead, he said with confusion, "Let's talk. I think you must have some misunderstanding about me."
Unable to leave, Ella stopped and looked at him. "Talk about what?"
Seeing she still had a hostile look on her face, her beautiful eyes coldly staring at him, Samuel felt baffled.
"How did I offend you? Why do you suddenly hate me so much?"
Ella still felt guilty.
She looked around.
Seeing no one else, Joshua should be in the room with Aiden right now.
Looking back at Samuel, Ella said irritably, "You know very well what you've done."
Playing dumb.
If Samuel hadn't taken her to that room four years ago, who else could have gotten in and had sex with her?
Usually acting so gentlemanly, considerate, and helpful.
Turned out he was a hypocrite.
Should she stay close to this kind of person instead of keeping her distance?
Samuel didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He shook his head and sighed, "What exactly did I do? Besides, since you came back to the country, we've barely had any contact, right?"
"Or is it because I wanted to adopt Dorian before? Since you wanted to adopt him, I gave up on that idea. Do you really need to treat me like this?"
Samuel couldn't understand. Ella used to be so gentle and generous.
She knew how to be grateful too.
She was good to whoever was good to her.
Now she was guarding against him like he was an enemy. Samuel felt an inexplicable sense of defeat.
Ella stared at him, her tone aggressive. "You've tried to get close to Dorian again and again. Aren't you just trying to take Dorian away from me?"
Samuel looked surprised again. "Why would I take your Dorian?"
This person was just too strange.
He thought Dorian was exceptionally talented and well-suited for studying medicine to save lives. He just wanted to take him as a student and train him.
Who said anything about taking her Dorian away?
"You're not qualified to take him anyway."
Ella knew he was pretending. With a cold face, she said, "Anyway, from now on, stay away from me and my children."
Ella walked around him to leave. Samuel still hadn't figured out the reason and reached out to grab her arm.
"Ella, can you please explain things clearly? I'm not trying to take your child. Can you just..."
"What are you two doing?"
Before he could finish, Joshua's cold voice came from not far away.
Ella shook off Samuel's hand and quickly walked over.
Samuel, afraid Joshua would misunderstand, didn't continue to pester her.
But Ella's aggrieved expression made it look as if he had wronged her somehow.
It really made him uncomfortable.
Watching Ella enter Aiden's room, Joshua walked toward Samuel with a stern face.
"What were you bothering her about?"
Ella's relationship with Samuel used to be pretty good.
But now Ella really disliked Samuel. Could he be harassing her?
Joshua suddenly grabbed Samuel's collar and warned in a low voice, "Are you making moves on her?"
"Is there something wrong with your brain?"
Samuel pushed his hand away, annoyed, "No matter how low I sink, I would never covet a friend's woman. I just find it strange why Ella has such hostility toward me."
He really couldn't figure it out.
If it was really about Dorian, that was making way too big a deal of it.
Joshua knew Samuel wouldn't dare, and didn't have the guts.
He didn't really care and just said, "Since Ella doesn't want contact with you, stay away from her."
"Yes, yes, yes. I'll stay away from both of you, okay?"
Really feeling like this couple was both sick, too lazy to get involved with them, Samuel turned to prepare medicine for Aiden.
That evening, Ella took the initiative to enter Joshua's room.
Seeing him sitting at the headboard in dark-colored pajamas, looking lazy and noble, his face illuminated by the bedside lamp looking exceptionally handsome and very tempting.
She slowly made her way to the other side of the bed and sat down, asking in a low voice, "Now that Grandpa is awake, can I leave for a few days?"
She had to go to Michael's place to pick up Dorian.
Otherwise, if Michael didn't see her, he would definitely take it out on Dorian.
Joshua stared at her. "You want to see Michael that badly?"
How could he not know that Ella just wanted to see Michael?
That lunatic with mental illness.
She wasn't even afraid that being with a lunatic might be contagious.
Ella lowered her head and couldn't help but retort, "If you hadn't given Dorian to him, would I need to go see him?"
If he really treated her children well, just based on how good Aiden was to her, she definitely wouldn't want to leave.
But Joshua said on the surface he would help raise them, yet secretly deliberately gave Dorian away.
He simply couldn't tolerate Dorian. Why wouldn't he let her go see him?
"I'm telling you again, I didn't send your child to Michael. The child wasn't feeling well, so Samuel took him to the hospital for a checkup. When no one was paying attention, Michael sent people to take the child away."
Joshua explained patiently.
Thinking that Dorian being with Michael wouldn't be a problem.
But right now Aiden needed Ella's company.
Joshua refused coldly, pretending to be indifferent, "You can't leave recently."
Ella looked at him and suddenly got anxious. "Dorian wasn't feeling well? What happened to him? What's wrong with him?"
Joshua had no patience. "Samuel said it's nothing. He probably just wanted to see you and was pretending."
"If he was pretending, why would Samuel take him to the hospital? I don't care, I'm going to see him tomorrow. If you keep stopping me, I'll tell Grandpa everything."
Ella was still worried about Dorian. She got up, wanting to call Michael.
Joshua looked at her back and raised his voice in warning, "Ella, if you have any conscience at all, shut up. If anything happens to Grandpa because of your situation, I won't let you off."
Ella ignored him.
After getting her phone, she returned to the guest room and dialed Michael's number from memory.
Someone answered, but it was Dorian's voice.
"Who are you looking for?"
Ella was delighted and asked in a low voice, "Dorian, it's Mom. Are you okay? What's wrong with you?"
Dorian sat on the bed in brand new pajamas, listening to the sound of running water from next door.
Thinking that Michael was taking a shower inside and probably wouldn't come out for a while.
He sat cross-legged, speaking sweetly into the phone, "Mom, don't worry about me. I'm fine. I just had a little stomachache before."
"Mom, have you found Aurora? I miss Aurora a little."
Ella felt relieved hearing Dorian say he was fine.
Thinking of something, she asked again, "Why did you answer the phone? Where's Michael? He hasn't done anything to you, has he?"
"No, Dad's been really good to me."
Dorian said, "He's taking a shower now. The butler said he can't sleep at night, so I'm planning to sleep with him."
Ella was still afraid of Dorian being with that devil.
Terrified that if she didn't show up for a week, Michael would do something extreme.
No matter what, she had to leave the Thomas Manor first.
Sensing Michael was coming out, Dorian quickly whispered into the phone, "Mom, I have to go. Dad's coming out. Don't worry about me, I'll take good care of myself."
Dorian hung up and jumped off the bed.
Just then, Michael came out rubbing his wet hair.
Seeing Dorian in his room, his face darkened and his tone turned icy.
"Who told you to come to my room?"
Dorian rushed over and hugged Michael's thigh, looking up at him with his little head tilted back, smiling innocently.
"Dad, I came to sleep with you. The butler said you have nightmares at night. I can treat illnesses. With me here, Dad won't have nightmares."
Dorian didn't know if Michael was really his dad.
But the adults around now were all dangerous people. If they got upset, they would take it out on children.
To save his own life so he could see Ella and wait for Aurora to come back, he could only learn to protect himself.
Michael bent down and pulled Dorian away, then leaned closer to him.
He raised his hand and pinched Dorian's little face, his eyes bloodshot.
As if with just a little pressure, he could crush Dorian.
A bastard child Ella had with someone else, calling him dad.
What man could accept his woman having another man's child?
Michael laughed maniacally, moving his hand to Dorian's neck, easily gripping his throat.
Dorian was forced to tilt his little head back, still wearing an innocent smile on his face.
"Dad, let me treat you, okay? I can treat illnesses."
Michael raised an eyebrow and sneered, "So young, already lying and deceiving people?"
"I really can treat illnesses."
Dorian quickly raised his hand to hold Michael's wrist, diagnosing him, looking quite professional about it.
Michael inexplicably loosened his grip on the child's throat and let him examine him.
After a moment, Dorian showed a sad expression, furrowing his little face with an old-fashioned attitude, "Dad, do you have split personality? Do you like something and then obsessively want to possess it?"
Michael's heart jumped.
Dorian had actually figured out he had mental illness.
Thinking about how he had indeed been obsessively wanting to possess Ella, he squatted in front of the child, his expression much softer than a moment ago.
"Who taught you this?"
Dorian pulled him onto the bed. "Dad, if you trust me, I can definitely cure you."
Michael was somehow compelled to obediently get on the bed, letting Dorian press him down to lie flat.
He also let Dorian fool around beside him.
Dorian placed his two small hands on Michael's temples, gently massaging, and began to hypnotize him.
At first, Michael was still conscious.
If Ella didn't come within a week, he had already thought about where to bury Dorian after cutting him into pieces.
But somehow, these cruel and bloody memories gradually faded, leaving his mind blank. He didn't even know when he fell asleep.
Ella obediently stayed with Aiden for two days.
Seeing that Joshua still had people watching her, not allowing her to leave the Thomas Manor.
She was worried about Dorian. Seeing that Aiden was gradually getting better, she could only take the initiative to confess.
In the evening, Ella brought food to Aiden.
Watching Aiden able to feed himself, she sat beside him with her head down, carefully speaking up, "Grandpa, there's something I want to confess to you."
