Chapter 57
Ella didn't dare to deal with Joshua anymore.
She couldn't leave the castle either, so she could only go back to her room to stay with Dorian.
Dorian had just woken up.
He opened his eyes and saw Ella sitting by the bed.
Dorian thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He asked in a daze, "Mom, am I dead too?"
Only if he was dead could he see Ella in heaven.
How wonderful, he was back by Ella's side again.
He wished he could stay with Ella forever.
Ella's heart ached. She bent down and hugged Dorian.
"I'm sorry, Mom made you suffer. You're not dead, Mom came back."
Dorian had completely lost his former spirit. Being held in Ella's arms, he was dazed and confused, unable to react for a long while.
Really?
He wasn't dead, and Ella wasn't dead either.
Did Ella come back for him?
Dorian pulled away from Ella's embrace, wanting to look at her carefully and touch her.
When he felt that Ella's face was warm, just like before, a warm current suddenly surged through his heart, and tears broke through like a dam.
He was only a three-year-old child after all, unable to control his emotions, and he started crying.
"Mom, why did you come back so late? They all said you were dead."
"They buried you and Aurora, saying you'd never come back."
"Mom, I missed you and Aurora so much. I've been so sad this whole time, wanting to find you, but I didn't know where you were."
"Mom, where's Aurora? Did Aurora come back too?"
Thinking of Aurora, Ella felt terrible.
She lowered her head and nuzzled Dorian's head, choking back her emotions.
"I haven't found Aurora yet. Don't cry, Dorian. Aurora will definitely come back."
Hearing that Aurora hadn't come back, Dorian couldn't stop crying.
But he had regained some spirit and actively hugged Ella's neck, unwilling to let go.
As if the moment he let go, Ella would disappear again.
Ella felt sorry for Dorian too. She held him tightly, patting him gently and coaxing him not to cry.
The mother and son's voices might have disturbed Michael.
Michael strode into the room.
Seeing the mother and son embracing, his handsome face darkened.
He showed no sympathy or affection. He walked over and directly snatched Dorian, holding him up in the air.
"Michael, what are you doing?"
Ella was startled and tried to grab him back.
Michael looked at her sharply, "Ella, don't move. Stand still."
Then he turned his gaze to the bewildered Dorian and smiled, "Child, call me Dad. I'm your father."
Dorian stopped crying. Being held up in the air was very uncomfortable.
He glanced at Ella and saw she was worried about him, seeming very afraid of this Michael.
He read the situation and obediently called out, "Dad."
Michael smiled and put him on the bed.
"Right, remember this. From now on, I'm your father and you're my son. But you're a boy, so you can't be so close to your mom anymore, understand?"
Dorian nodded obediently.
Michael patted his head, smiling warmly.
"Good boy. You haven't eaten, have you? Come, Dad will carry you to eat."
As he spoke, he picked up Dorian again, sitting him in the crook of his arm, and turned to leave.
Ella followed anxiously, terrified.
She was really afraid this devil would take his anger out on her child if he got upset.
Dorian lay on Michael's shoulder, looking at Ella, asking with his eyes who this person was.
Was he really their father?
Ella didn't know how to explain to Dorian. She could only signal him to comply for now.
Just as the three of them went downstairs and reached the dining room, the butler hurried over to report.
"Mr. Johnson, this is bad. The castle is surrounded by police. They're about to break in."
Michael, holding the child, looked at Ella beside him and snorted coldly, "Didn't you tell me he would leave? Why did he bring the police?"
Michael showed no fear.
He didn't care at all, his handsome face appearing calm and composed.
At this moment, Ella was quite grateful to Joshua.
With the police here, she could escape from this devil.
Ella retorted, "Maybe it was because of that shot you fired."
Michael had shot someone with a gun. Who else would the police arrest if not him?
Please arrest him and throw him in jail quickly.
That way no one could control her anymore.
Before Michael could scold her again, the castle gate was broken down.
Dozens of police officers in uniform, holding guns, rushed in and surrounded them.
The castle servants were too scared to move and stood obediently to the side.
The police captain walked straight forward, his uniform standing tall and imposing, and asked Ella, "Are you Ella?"
Ella nodded.
The captain told him, "A month ago we received a report from your family saying you were missing. For this past month, were you kidnapped and held captive here by him?"
Ella looked at Michael.
Her child was still sitting in his arms.
Although she really wanted to escape from this devil.
After all, Michael had saved her.
If she crossed the bridge and burned it now, wouldn't that be a bit immoral?
Ella faced the police and denied, "He did imprison me, but he didn't kidnap me. My daughter was kidnapped and thrown into the sea. To save my daughter, I also fell into the sea."
"He rescued me and brought me to this place. Officer, do you have any news about my daughter?"
The police shook his head and indicated, "Your family is worried about you and waiting for you at the gate. Take your child and go home with your family now."
Ella knew that Joshua was waiting at the gate.
Even though she didn't want to return to Tranquil Villa.
But she had to leave this place now.
She reached out to take Dorian from Michael's arms.
Michael let go. Crazy as he was, he knew what should and shouldn't be done.
This was Silverlight City after all, not a place where he could be arrogant.
A bunch of police officers in the room all had guns. He had no way to stop Ella from leaving.
Watching Ella hold her child and walk away without looking back.
Michael smiled and reminded her, "Ella, if the child is in so much pain he can't survive, remember to come back to me."
These words had a hidden meaning.
Ella stopped in her tracks and looked back at him.
Seeing Michael smile so arrogantly, so confident that she would definitely come back, she panicked.
So had he made someone give Dorian something?
Ella didn't believe it and quickly left holding Dorian.
The police stared at Michael and pulled out a detention warrant. "You're suspected of illegally imprisoning someone and threatening their personal freedom and safety. Please come with us."
The butler hurried forward to plead, trying to settle things with money.
But Michael didn't care at all. He voluntarily extended both hands for the police to handcuff.
"Let's go. You'll send me back obediently anyway."
Seeing Michael being so arrogant, the police immediately pulled out handcuffs and cuffed him.
At the castle gate.
Ella had just been escorted by Brian onto Joshua's car with the child.
She saw the police bringing out Michael in handcuffs and putting him in the police car.
When Michael looked at her, he still smiled warmly, comforting her, "Don't worry, Ella. It's just a formality."
Ella wasn't worried about him at all and quickly looked away.
In Ella's ear, Joshua's extremely suppressed voice sounded, "Is he really the children's father?"
