Chapter 158
After Ella settled down with Dorian, she enrolled him in a nearby kindergarten.
She continued writing articles to make a living.
Rhea really missed Ella. Knowing where she was, she secretly went over to visit them.
Mason found out about this too.
After Joshua recovered, he only asked Brian to check on the Baker family's situation in Eldoria and see how Ella and Dorian were doing there.
If they were doing well, he wouldn't disturb them anymore.
But if the Baker family treated Dorian badly, he would go stand up for Ella and her son.
However, when Brian looked into it, he found out that Ella and Dorian weren't at the Baker family's place.
In the evening, he rushed to Tranquil Villa to report, "Mr. Thomas, word from Eldoria is that Ms. Garcia and Dorian never showed up at the Baker family's place."
Joshua was confused. "If Ella's not at the Baker family's place, then where is she?"
They'd been gone for several days now.
And she and Zachary were legally married, so it was impossible for her not to go home with Zachary after arriving there.
Brian shook his head. "I'm still having people look into that, but Zachary is staying at the Baker family's place. The Baker family won't let him be with Ms. Garcia and have trapped him there."
Only then did Joshua remember some things he had arranged earlier.
He had made the Baker family unable to accept Ella, using them to pressure Zachary into divorcing Ella.
Worried the Baker family couldn't do it, he had even sent someone to notify Michael.
Looking at it now, this was all his doing.
Afraid that Ella and Dorian might be in danger there, Joshua quickly ordered, "Hurry and investigate more, find out where they are and if they're safe."
Brian nodded and left.
Beside him, Samuel suggested, "Why don't you call Mason over and ask him?"
Ella was Mason's sister, so he would definitely know about her movements.
Why go to all this trouble?
Joshua thought that made sense and immediately called Mason, asking him to come to Tranquil Villa.
Mason hadn't been doing well these days and really did want someone to keep him company and have some drinks.
Scarlett was dead, and his child was gone too.
No one was more heartbroken than him.
When he got Joshua's call, he came over without hesitation.
Thinking Joshua was calling him over for drinks, but when he entered the villa and saw Samuel there too, the two of them didn't look like they were planning to drink at all.
He walked over and sat down beside them. "What did you call me over for?"
Joshua didn't beat around the bush and asked directly, "Do you know where Ella took Dorian?"
Hearing this, Mason's heart jumped.
He didn't know how Joshua found out that Dorian had been found, but Ella had asked them to keep it secret, so he hadn't told anyone.
Yet Joshua knew.
Worried it might be a trick, Mason pretended not to know. "How would I know?"
Samuel sighed. "Don't pretend with us. It's not like we can't find them - it's just a matter of time."
"Don't worry! Even if Joshua finds out where they are, he won't go snatch Dorian back. He's chosen to give up."
There was no choice but to give up.
Dorian really didn't want to be with him.
If they took him back and something else happened, they'd regret it.
Mason stared at the two men beside him. After learning why they'd called him over, he sneered, "If you can investigate it, go investigate it yourselves. I don't know where Dorian and Ella are."
Ella had told them not to say anything, so he had to keep his mouth shut.
Besides, Joshua was so unpredictable - who knew if he really wanted to give up?
To keep Dorian from being taken away, he as the uncle, absolutely wouldn't reveal anything.
"Fine, don't tell us. My people will find them anyway. I'm just worried it's not safe for Ella to stay in Eldoria with Dorian. If you know where she is, bring her back as soon as possible!"
Joshua didn't keep pressing. Knowing that Scarlett had died and Mason was heartbroken, he had Samuel go get some alcohol.
They'd just keep Mason company for a few drinks.
But he was still worried about Ella and Dorian.
If they fell into Michael's hands, that would be trouble.
When Michael went crazy, he was capable of anything.
Joshua felt somewhat guilty. What had he been doing? Always constantly hurting Ella and Dorian.
He really didn't deserve to live in this world.
Mason remained silent.
Joshua didn't ask anymore. After Samuel brought the alcohol, the three of them drank and chatted.
After getting drunk, Mason still couldn't help but reveal where Ella and Dorian were.
Joshua was particularly alert. Even though he was a bit tipsy too, he remembered every word Mason said about Ella.
Learning that Ella was in the country, and not far away - just a few hundred miles from here.
Early the next morning, Joshua had Brian drive him over.
After dropping Dorian off at kindergarten in the morning, Ella sat on the living room sofa with her laptop, writing articles.
Rhea was preparing food for her and couldn't help but advise, "About you and Zachary - the Baker family doesn't approve. So what are you planning to do?"
After Ella told her about the Baker family's situation, she felt that Ella and Zachary couldn't possibly end up together.
The Baker family couldn't accept Ella.
She couldn't bear to see Ella go there alone with Dorian and suffer.
If possible, she really wanted Ella to divorce, and let them as parents support her, so she could focus on doing what she wanted to do.
Mentioning Zachary, Ella felt inexplicably worried.
She took out her phone to call Zachary, but still couldn't get through.
Since she came here, she hadn't been able to contact Zachary at all. She didn't know how he was doing there.
Rhea prepared some fruit and brought it over to Ella, sitting down beside her.
"What if the Baker family keeps Zachary trapped there and won't let him come over?"
The Baker family's situation was so complicated, and Zachary's mother had recently passed away. He probably couldn't come back anytime soon.
She felt sorry for Ella.
Why was it that no matter who she married, she never had good days?
Ella looked at her mother, feeling uneasy.
"If he doesn't come, I'll go find him."
At least she needed to know what Zachary's situation was there.
But she couldn't go now - if she fell into Michael's hands, that would be bad.
"Didn't you say it wasn't safe to go there?"
Rhea advised, "Haven't you thought that maybe you two just aren't from the same world? Why don't you..."
"Mom." Ella understood what Rhea meant. Before she could continue, she interrupted, "Since I chose to marry him, I never thought about leaving him."
"I'll stay here and wait for him. If he doesn't come, I'll go find him."
No matter how difficult the road ahead, she would push forward.
This was her own choice, and she couldn't blame anyone else.
Seeing how stubborn Ella was, Rhea didn't say more.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Rhea got up and said, "I'll get the door."
But Ella stopped her alertly. "Mom, I just moved here. Nobody knows I'm here. Who would come at this time?"
