Chapter 130
Ella really wanted to see what kind of expression Scarlett would have when she saw her, so she pushed the door open and walked right in.
Joshua was worried Ella might get bullied, so he quickly followed her in.
The men in the private room saw someone come in. The lighting wasn't too dim, so they could see people's faces clearly.
When they saw it was Joshua, everyone stood up to greet him, "Mr. Thomas, what brings you here?"
"What a rare guest! Mr. Thomas, please have a seat."
Hearing the men call out "Mr. Thomas," Scarlett immediately got down from the pole.
Turning around and seeing it was Joshua and Ella, she quickly grabbed her clothes and held them against her chest, standing there awkwardly, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.
She had no idea why Ella and Joshua would come to a place like this.
And to end up in her room of all places.
Thinking about the image she used to have in Joshua's mind, she hurriedly put on her clothes, wanting to explain to Joshua.
But Ella walked up to her with a carefree smile, "Scarlett, why are you getting dressed? I thought you were dancing really sexy just now. Why don't you dance some more?"
Scarlett felt extremely embarrassed and quickly moved closer to Joshua, "Joshua, it's not what you think. I'm just..."
"Whatever you do has nothing to do with me. I'm just here with Ella."
Joshua stepped forward and took Ella's hand, clearly a bit angry, "Let's go back."
Ella refused, pulling her hand away and looking at the men nearby, "What are you all standing around for? Keep going."
Ella looked at Scarlett again, "You were dancing really well just now. Great body, nice skin. With so many men watching, you must make quite a bit of money in one night, right?"
Scarlett had already put her clothes on and glared hatefully at Ella's gloating expression, her face twisted with anger, "Does seeing me like this make you happy?"
Ella shook her head, putting on a sympathetic face, "How can you say that about me? I know my dad kicked you out and you're struggling financially. I'm here to give you money."
Ella pulled out a stack of cash from her bag and handed it to Scarlett with a bright smile, "Here's ten thousand dollars. Dance that dance again, and it's all yours."
She wanted to provoke Scarlett into showing her true colors.
She wanted her to lose all conscience like before.
If she didn't personally send Scarlett to prison, Ella wouldn't let this go.
"Ella."
Scarlett gritted her teeth, clenching her fists, looking like she wanted to tear her apart.
Seeing Joshua standing nearby saying nothing with a very serious expression, clearly not wanting Ella to act this way.
She immediately put on a vulnerable act and threw herself at him, crying, "Joshua, Ella is deliberately here to humiliate me. For the sake of our years together, can you bear to let her treat me like this?"
Joshua did think Ella was going a bit too far.
No matter what, Scarlett was the Lewis family's adopted daughter, someone who grew up in their circle.
They shouldn't push her to the point where she had no way to survive.
Joshua looked at Ella and spoke up for Scarlett, "Ella, let's go. You're being too much."
Ella laughed coldly, her gaze falling on Joshua, "What, you feel sorry for her?"
Joshua explained, "You know how I feel about you. Since Scarlett chose this path, why do you have to kick her when she's down?"
"What do you mean I'm kicking her when she's down?"
Ella raised her voice, looking at Scarlett with contempt, "She can strip naked for these men to watch, but I can't look? Besides, I'm not even getting it for free."
She really found Joshua's behavior disgusting. She moved closer to him and dropped these words, "If you feel so sorry for her, why don't you take her back to Tranquil Villa and keep her there? It's not like you haven't done that before."
Not caring at all what Joshua thought of her, Ella gave a mocking laugh and strode out of the private room.
Joshua was about to chase after her when Scarlett quickly grabbed his arm, crying pitifully, "Joshua, believe me, I had no choice."
Joshua paused.
Just moments ago, what they saw outside didn't look like Scarlett was being forced.
She seemed to be enjoying the men's attention.
Thinking about how Scarlett had slept with Mason before, Joshua couldn't bring himself to have any good feelings toward her anymore.
He coldly shook off her hand, "Your business has nothing to do with me. If you like dancing, keep dancing."
Afraid Ella would leave without him, Joshua hurried out of the room.
Scarlett was left standing there, ashamed and humiliated.
But what she felt most was hatred.
She wouldn't let Ella off.
She would make Ella pay a terrible price, just like before.
Ella had just left the club when Joshua caught up with her.
She didn't throw a fit or go her separate way.
After all, she wasn't going to be with Joshua anyway. Being around him now was just to use him to achieve her own goals.
Seeing him come out alone, Ella even asked with concern, "You didn't bring Scarlett with you? Aren't you worried about her being bullied by those men if you leave her there?"
Joshua didn't care, "She's not worried herself, why should I care? But what was your purpose in bringing me there tonight?"
He felt a bit uncomfortable.
He felt like Ella was using him to get revenge on Scarlett.
He felt that Ella giving him a chance wasn't because she genuinely wanted to be with him.
Ella smiled slyly, "You saw my purpose, didn't you? To show you a different side of Scarlett. You've known her so long, you probably haven't seen this sexy, seductive side of her, right?"
If she didn't need Joshua in the future.
Ella really didn't want to waste words with him.
The way he defended Scarlett just now was really disgusting.
Joshua walked over and opened the car door, helped Ella in, then walked around to the driver's side.
After the car drove off, he said in a somewhat cold voice, "Ella, I don't have feelings for Scarlett. I don't care what she's doing now or who she's hanging out with."
"Don't do this again. The only person I care about is you."
Ella sat in the passenger seat, turned to look out the window, and gave a bitter smile.
He didn't care about Scarlett, yet he minded that she brought him to see Scarlett's other side.
Joshua was really saying one thing and meaning another.
Realizing Joshua wasn't driving toward the Lewis Villa, Ella asked him, "Where are you taking me?"
Joshua was very honest, "Let's stay at Tranquil Villa tonight. Karen hasn't seen you in a long time. She says she really misses you."
Actually, he wanted to spend time alone with Ella.
He wanted to be intimate with her.
Ella refused without hesitation, "No need. Dorian is waiting for me at home. Just take me back to the Lewis Villa."
She looked down and posted the video of Scarlett dancing that she'd taken at the club online anonymously, adding some embellished comments.
Joshua didn't want to go against Ella's wishes, so in the end he obediently drove her back to the Lewis Villa.
When they arrived and he saw Ella get out of the car and leave without looking back, not even saying goodbye, Joshua felt a bit sour inside.
He called out to her, "Ella."
Ella turned back to look at him, "Is there something else?"
Joshua saw that she treated him like just an ordinary friend, which made him feel even worse.
But he couldn't help moving closer to Ella.
He asked her, "Can I come pick you up for work tomorrow?"
