Chapter 111 Tracked Her Location
The security personnel heard the noise and rushed in, only to find a broken cup. After cleaning it up, they left.
A soft sound came from the computer on the desk. The email inbox popped up automatically, with an encrypted email sitting there quietly.
Sender: Bluebird Tech Susan.
Emma walked over and opened the email.
The message was brief: [Nicholas arrived at Bluebird Tech headquarters last night, stayed in your office for half the night, and left at dawn. Also, Matthew arrived at the Lumaria branch yesterday, everything went smoothly.]
Emma's fingertips tapped lightly on the keyboard, replying with a single word: [Good.]
Then she closed the email.
In the presidential suite of Novaria's six-star hotel, Nicholas's private computer screen suddenly lit up. A tiny notification box popped up, silent and unnoticed.
He caught that signal almost instantly. The man who had been leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed suddenly opened them, his gaze sharp and piercing.
His slender fingers flew across the custom keyboard, moving so fast they almost left afterimages, tracking an IP address that had briefly exchanged data with Susan.
The only sound in the air was the rapid, rhythmic clicking of his keyboard.
A few seconds later, the IP location was successful.
Nicholas stared at the flashing red dot on the screen, unable to control the slight upward curve at the corner of his mouth.
He'd finally caught Emma. He felt the blood throughout his body heating up again, every cell screaming with excitement.
...
At noon, in the Jackson family dining room, the atmosphere was a bit awkward.
At the long dining table, Ethan and Rena sat side by side, facing the hosts of the Jackson family.
Today's meal was supposedly Rena making a special visit to thank Emma for saving her life.
Ruby explained apologetically, "What bad timing—Emma went traveling."
"Traveling?" Rena raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Yes, she said she wanted to travel around the world. She probably won't be back anytime soon." Ruby forced herself to continue.
Rena's gaze swept around the dining table, finally landing on a quiet young girl.
The girl had delicate features and fair skin—a real beauty in the making.
"And who is this?" Rena's voice wasn't loud, but carried an unmistakable curiosity.
Ruby quickly smiled and responded, "Oh, this is Nina, my newly adopted goddaughter."
She tugged at Nina's sleeve, signaling her to say hello.
Rena nodded without showing her thoughts.
This young girl was really lovely—her looks and figure were flawless. If she could become her grandson's wife, that would be perfect.
Evelyn saw right through Rena's thoughts. She lightly nudged Nina beside her with her elbow and said with a teasing smile in a lowered voice, "Nina, quick, say hello to Mrs. Martinez."
Nina's cheeks flushed slightly. Looking a bit nervous, she raised her hand and made a few gestures toward Rena, making soft "ah... ah..." sounds from her mouth.
She was trying to say "Hello, Mrs. Martinez."
The smile on Rena's face instantly froze. The warmth in her eyes quickly cooled and darkened.
"This child can't speak?" Her tone carried undisguised disappointment, and the atmosphere at the table immediately dropped to freezing point.
Ethan immediately noticed his grandmother's mood change and quickly tried to smooth things over: "Grandma, Nina is saying hello to you."
He looked at Nina gently, trying to ease her embarrassment.
Evelyn wasn't having it and rolled her eyes dramatically at Ethan.
"Please, Ethan, you've got a lot to learn about sign language translation!"
She cleared her throat and began "translating" to Rena with a straight face: "Mrs. Martinez, Nina says the braised pork is amazing, and you and Ethan should have more—don't be shy!"
Nina nearly spit out her water, her face instantly turning bright red.
She shook her head frantically, gesturing wildly: No! That's not it!
Evelyn winked mischievously and continued her translation: "Oh my, Nina's saying the braised pork is so good she can't get enough of it herself! Maybe you two should try the rose chicken legs instead—there's more meat on those. Stop fighting her for the braised pork!"
Nina was so flustered her eyes started to water. She quickly reached out and covered Evelyn's chattering mouth with her small hand.
This was so embarrassing! How could she face anyone after this!
Nina's cheeks were as red as ripe apples, even her ears were burning.
Watching Nina's flustered and anxious expression, her face red and looking like she wanted to crawl into a hole, Ethan couldn't help but laugh softly.
His gaze fell on Nina's pouty, helpless little face, finding it both amusing and somehow endearing in a way he couldn't quite explain.
...
Nicholas stared at the map of Rockford Town with dark, intense eyes. A day ago, the town's sea access had been blocked, prohibiting unknown outsiders from entering. Tourism routes were also closed, all under strict official supervision.
This only confirmed Nicholas's suspicions—Emma was in there. He was so excited his body trembled slightly.
But the town was surrounded by water on three sides. A helicopter would be too obvious, boats weren't allowed through, the extreme sports site on the west side had stopped bungee jumping, and the mountain behind had sheer cliffs with searchlights—climbing wasn't realistic.
"I remember the mayor of Rockford Town is that old guy Henry."
Nicholas suddenly said, his slender fingers spinning a lighter a few times.
"That's right! Oh, and in a couple days it's Rockford Town's Harvest Festival. There'll be a grand celebration, the whole town celebrating! There'll definitely be some special guests entering the town—that would be a perfect opportunity."
Charlie's words were like a wake-up call. This was indeed a good chance.
"Contact Henry. I need to get into town today!"
He couldn't wait another moment!
"Okay, I'll prepare the private jet first." Charlie knew Nicholas was anxious. Turning to leave, he asked, "Who should we bring this time?"
"Bring Hannah." He remembered Matthew's words. He knew she must be in danger, and he didn't dare let his guard down for a second.
"Send those things about the Laurent family to Berry. He knows what to do."
Over the years, he'd collected a lot of dirt on the Laurent family. Ever since they'd openly tried to take Emma last time, he'd been ready to make his move. A family that's too powerful or too aggressive is destined for a bad ending.
"Got it!" Charlie nodded.
After nightfall, the temperature in Rockford Town was particularly cold. It was now late autumn, and the night wind carried a chill, making the curtains dance in the breeze.
Moonlight spilled across the windowsill. A dark figure, moving as quickly as a cat, nimbly climbed onto the villa's second-floor balcony.
He skillfully avoided all the security cameras, his movements agile and practiced.
He didn't alert anyone—not even a dog barked.
In the bedroom, a small night light cast a dim yellow glow.
On the large bed, a woman slept soundly, breathing evenly. Her long eyelashes cast a small shadow beneath her eyes, making her look especially peaceful.
The man in black approached step by step, his footsteps so light they were almost inaudible. His eyes flashed, then he pulled a dagger from his waist. The sharp blade gleamed coldly...
