Chapter 300 She Won't Die, But Will Live a Fate Worse Than Death

Chapter 300 She Won't Die, But Will Live a Fate Worse Than Death

Some uninvolved suspects had already plunged their hands into the bowls, washing them thoroughly clean, their faces showing not a trace of guilt.

But four people remained frozen in place, too terrified to move.

It was Victoria and her boyfriend, along with two trembling servants.

All eyes focused on these four, and everyone's suspicions became crystal clear.

"Wash them! Hurry up and wash!"

Someone in the crowd began urging them on, their voices growing louder and more insistent.

One servant, his face covered in sweat, timidly extended his hand toward the bowl. Before his fingers even touched the rim, his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed straight to the ground.

This startled everyone badly.

Luke and Nicholas walked over.

Those who had already washed their hands were cleared of suspicion, and Luke nodded at them.

"Thank you for your cooperation. Please return to your seats."

Nicholas's gaze, however, was locked deadly onto Victoria. His words came out heavy and vicious.

"If you don't wash them now, I'll have someone chop off your hands."

Victoria trembled at his threat, then began shrieking.

"Nicholas, you actually suspect me?"

"I'm your sister! How could I possibly harm Edward!"

She took a deep breath and stuck her neck out defiantly, adopting a rather-die-than-submit posture.

"I won't do this ridiculous test. I didn't do it, and that's final."

Nicholas didn't even bother lifting his eyelids, having no time for her protests.

"Someone," he said coldly, "help her wash."

Three burly bodyguards with expressionless faces immediately stepped forward and grabbed the hands of the three of them, preparing to force them into the bowls.

"Ah! What are you doing!"

Victoria struggled violently, refusing to put her hands in no matter what, her makeup streaking down her face from tears.

"Let go of me! Let me go!"

She twisted her head toward Austin's direction and screamed desperately.

"Dad, help me! Save me!"

Austin couldn't stand it anymore and rushed over with a forced smile.

"Nicholas, this must be a misunderstanding. We're all family here - how could Victoria hurt Edward?"

Robert walked over leaning on his cane, struck it heavily on the ground, and roared with authority.

"Then let her wash!"

"Let her prove her innocence with action! If she really dies, then she deserves it!"

Victoria was completely stunned, staring at her grandfather in disbelief.

"Grandpa? I'm your own granddaughter! How can you say such a thing? It wasn't me."

"Do it."

Robert barked angrily and turned away from her.

The remaining standing servant's legs gave out, and he fell to his knees with a thud, frantically kowtowing to Robert.

"Ah! Mr. Harrison, please spare my life! I had no choice - it was all Ms. Harrison's doing! Please show mercy, sir!"

The servant had betrayed Victoria on the spot, pointing the finger directly at her.

The crowd erupted in another uproar. No one had expected that the perpetrator was actually the child's own aunt - how evil could one's heart be?

Victoria flew into a rage, hurling curses at the servant.

"What are you saying! You worthless piece of trash, how dare you slander me?"

At this moment, her boyfriend, who had remained silent, finally spoke up, desperately trying to clear himself.

"It has nothing to do with me either. I didn't do anything."

"It was her - she took the powder and secretly put it in my pocket to bring in!"

The man spilled everything.

"She said if I just gave the stuff to that servant, I could work with Mr. Nicholas Harrison. I really had no idea she was going to hurt a child!"

The man was so frightened he could barely speak coherently and dropped to his knees.

"Even with ten times the courage, I wouldn't dare! Please, let me go!"

Now it was set in stone.

The real culprit who had harmed the young master was Victoria.

A resounding slap struck Victoria hard across the face.

Austin trembled with rage, pointing at her nose and roaring.

"You ungrateful daughter! What have you done?"

"Get on your knees and apologize to your grandfather!"

Dahlia also came running out in tears, throwing herself before the old man to plead.

"Dad, Victoria is still young. Maybe she was just playing around. Please forgive her this once."

Emma walked over, her eyes burning with towering hatred.

"She's a 23-year-old adult who deliberately hurt a three-month-old baby, and you call that playing around?"

The crowd immediately exploded.

"Exactly! How could she be so vicious, even attacking a small child?"

"I never would have thought - harming her own nephew! What's her goal, seizing family assets?"

"Too evil! If someone like this was in our family, we'd have to clean house!"

The chatter rose and fell like countless needles stabbing into Victoria's family.

Dahlia's face was ashen. She grabbed Victoria's arm and screamed, "Hurry up and kneel! Apologize to your sister-in-law and brother!"

Robert's expression was emotionless as he slowly spoke, each sentence like a verdict.

"From today forward, Victoria is expelled from the Harrison Group family registry. She is no longer a descendant of the Harrison family."

"All shares under Austin's name are revoked, his inheritance rights canceled, and the entire family is banished from Emerald City."

Nicholas walked over, his eyes full of murderous intent.

"Let her go? That's too easy on her."

"No one can hurt my son and then leave as if nothing happened."

He ordered the bodyguards.

"Someone, break her legs."

"Yes, sir."

The bodyguards stepped forward to act, but Dahlia frantically spread her arms to shield Victoria.

"Nicholas! Please spare Victoria this once - she really knows she was wrong!"

Emma stepped forward and shoved Dahlia, who was blocking the way, aside with one motion.

Then she swiftly grabbed Victoria's hands and, with irresistible force, pressed them directly into the bowl.

Victoria let out a piercing shriek of terror.

Everyone gasped in shock, staring at her intently.

But Victoria didn't drop dead on the spot.

Her hands just began to itch instantly - the kind of itch that felt like ten thousand insects gnawing at her bones.

"Ah! So itchy! Help me! Mom, save me!"

She went mad clawing at herself with her nails, instantly breaking the skin until blood flowed, but the itching only grew deeper.

She kept scratching, the blood kept flowing, creating a horrifying sight.

"Ah! Victoria, what's wrong with you?"

Dahlia cried as she pleaded with Emma.

"Emma, please, I'm begging you - spare Victoria!"

Emma looked coldly at the mother and daughter. "Don't worry. This bowl of water won't kill her, but it will make her wish she were dead."

After studying poisonous plants for so many years, this was Emma's first time using them, because someone had hurt her child.

She would never forgive that.

"She didn't even spare a tiny baby - heaven will punish her too."

As soon as she finished speaking, Victoria's designer dress suddenly caught fire. Eerie flames instantly shot up, wrapping her entire body in a ball of fire.

"Ah! Help me! Ahh!"

Everyone was stunned again by this sudden turn of events. How could she suddenly catch fire - was this really divine punishment?

No one dared step forward to help, nor wanted to.

Victoria struggled frantically like a fireball, screaming as she threw herself into the courtyard fountain.

When she was pulled out, her clothing had burned completely away, her hair was gone, and her once-beautiful face was destroyed beyond recognition.

But she was still alive - and deserved only to live in such agony...

Finally, the three culprits were taken away by bodyguards. Victoria was sent directly to the prison hospital, and this centennial celebration finally came to a chaotic end.

The butler saw off all the guests. In the vast mansion, only the Harrison family and Jackson family members remained.

The red rash on Edward's body hadn't completely faded, and some areas of his tender skin had been rubbed raw by his own scratching. He began crying uncomfortably again.

The doctor had examined him, but since the child was too young, they could only apply gentle topical medications.

Emma watched with a breaking heart, her eyes reddening once more.

Nina walked over and extended her hands, asking softly.

"May I hold him?"

Emma carefully handed the child to her.

Nina cradled the baby in her arms and gently rocked him. Strangely enough, the child gradually calmed down. His bright dark eyes opened wide, and the previous discomfort and fussing disappeared, leaving him remarkably peaceful.

After a while, Nina handed the child back to Emma.

Nicholas walked over and took the baby from Emma's arms.

Emma was about to apply more medicine to the child when she lifted the swaddling clothes and froze.

All the frightening red marks on his body had completely disappeared, and even the previously damaged skin areas had become perfectly smooth and delicate again.

They exchanged a glance, understanding what had happened.

Emma walked over and gently took Danny's hand, her eyes red with tears. "Thank you."

Nina smiled, her eyebrows curved sweetly. "Tomorrow, Ethan is taking me to Imperial City to play. I'll be gone for a while before I come back to see you and the baby."

Emma nodded.

Evelyn suddenly said, "Mr. Martinez, why don't you bring your cousin to the Jackson house for dinner tonight? We have fresh, large shrimp, and someone to peel them specially."

Ethan was momentarily stunned, glancing at this little foodie who was practically drooling.

"Want to go?"

"Yes, let's go." Nina nodded vigorously several times.

"Then we'll head back first and visit again tonight." Ethan led Nina away.

Evelyn pulled Emma aside for a few whispered words, then they both glanced at Danny's retreating figure.

"Dad, I'm going back to the company for a bit. I'll be home for dinner tonight."

"Remember to buy shrimp - a whole big platter." Evelyn walked over to tell Daryl, then left.

She had barely stepped out of Harrison Mansion when she saw Luke.

He was leaning against a black Maybach, waiting for her.

"I'll give you a ride."

Evelyn said flatly, "No need. I'll call a car."

He reached out and grasped her wrist, speaking quietly. "We need to talk."

"We have nothing to talk about." Evelyn's coldness chilled him to the bone.

Luke looked at her deeply and said seriously, "Then we'll wait for the Harrison family lawyers to do the talking. I'm taking Sadie and Annie with me."

Evelyn's heart lurched...
