Chapter 97 – Her child is missing
A few days have passed…
Maybe, her fate was Barry, so she didn't need to think too much.
She should have been glad that when she slept next to Oliver, even though she had been affected by the hormones and wanted to pounce on that devastatingly beautiful man, she was able to not break through the last line of defense.
Otherwise, she would really be stuck in a dilemma right now. Thinking about it, Angela took out her phone and called the Tai Family, her Aunt's house.
"Mommy, I was in the horse stance just now." Tom's serious voice sounded, "Mommy has improved again."
"Awesome!" Angela laughed, a wave of gentleness flitting across her heart, "Tom, tell Mommy, do you really like that bespectacled Uncle a lot?"
"Yeah, I like it!" Tom said happily.
"Then Mommy will turn him into a mischievous dad." Angela took a deep breath and exhaled, "Then it's decided. Obediently stay at home and wait for Mommy to bring him back."
Tom asked anxiously, "Mommy, is that true? Where is he?"
"Really. He is with Mommy now." Angela smiled gently, "Darling can see him very soon, and you can call him Dad now."
"Really?" Tom's clear and melodious voice almost broke Angela's eardrums, "Mommy, I want to see him right now."
"Soon." Angela gently smiled, her eyes turning moist, "We will see very soon."
She hung up the phone with her son.
At Angela's house.
Mrs. Chen's emotions affected everyone around her. Angela, who was feeling nervous all this time, suddenly felt that her choice was correct.
However, when Angela saw her father's eyes, she couldn't help but feel tears. So, it turned out that her happiness had always been a pain in her parent's heart.
"So, I finally have a brother-in-law!" Angela's brother was so happy that he jumped three feet into the air.
Angela sniffed but not a single word came out.
"What about the wedding?" Mr. Chen asked, "Do you have any plans?"
Barry replied respectfully with a smile, "I have saved some money these few years. I will do whatever Angela is willing to do to get married. I mean, get the certificate first."
"That's right, get your certificate first." Mr. Chen hurriedly said, "In the future, there will be a family meeting, so I don't need to ask about it. I can't even raise my head."
As if he felt that he had said too much, Mr. Chen quickly stopped himself and laughed awkwardly, "Right now, all the young people are in charge."
"Dad, Mom, the wedding isn't urgent." Angela felt a little sour in her heart.
Barry smiled as he looked at Angela. Other than feeling happy, he was also a bit surprised that she was obedient today.
Mrs. Chen was overjoyed, "Angela, even after all these years, Barry still can't bear to part with you, so it's better to come back and marry you. This time, Mom and Dad can be at ease."
Angela remained silent.
"Look at people's eyes. Angela, look carefully. Barry's eyes are filled with you. Whether a man loves you or not depends on whether he has you in his eyes." Her Mom said.
After reciting for a long while, when he did not get a response from Angela, Mrs. Chen turned her head around and asked, "Angela, why aren't you saying anything?"
Angela's eyes lit up. "I just knew mother was so long-winded."
Mrs. Chen could not help but laugh.
She placed the account book in the palm of Angela's hand, "After marriage, you must love Barry well. It's not easy for him to accept you with a child."
"Mother…" Angela wanted to say something, but she stopped herself.
"What's the matter?" Mrs. Chen only took two steps before stopping.
Angela looked at the ceiling silently, "When you and Dad first got married, did you also love dad?"
"What did we love in our time?" Mrs. Chen snorted, "I do not have any brothers, your father was willing to stay in the dojo, and that was all. And love, how can you youngsters have stomach full of playthings like this?"
Angela listened in silence, lost in her thoughts.
"What is it?" Mrs. Chen was slightly startled, he touched his daughter's forehead and said, "You don't have a fever, do you?"
"You are not married because of love, but you are now full of love!" Angela muttered, "So, that means, marriage does not necessarily require love, it can also be good, right?"
"Angela, what nonsense are you spouting?" Mrs. Chen was shocked, "Angela, you suspect that Barry doesn't love you?"
"No." After thinking about it, Angela forced out a smile, "It is…"
Ever since Barry came back, even when she was moved to tears by him, she did not have the thought of pouncing onto him.
A lover's mind should be filled with peach blossoms, but ever since she saw Barry, she did not have any thoughts at all. This is too unscientific.
Angela believed that the two of them still had feelings for each other, since they had let go of all their grudges in the past two days.
However, this sentiment was a bit of a distortion.
"As long as it isn't the case." Mrs. Chen heaved a sigh of relief, "Child, you better not mess with our hearts anymore."
Pausing for a moment, Mrs. Chen continued, " Uhm, with Barry here, I don't think you'll have the chance to torment us."
Returning back to the living room, Mrs. Chen smiled and asked, "Barry, have you brought your documents?"
"I did." Barry replied with a smile.
From time to time he glanced at the clock on the wall.
Her Aunt's house wasn't that far from here. If the road was smooth, it would only take them around ten minutes to travel back to their house.
Her Dad and Tom should be back soon.
Barry's face was as warm as jade, calm and unhurried, but he was somehow a little nervous at the bottom of his heart.
Angela was worried that he would accept this child, and he was even more worried that the four year old kid that she had never met before would accept him.
"Why isn't Dad back yet?" Angela also started to look at the time. Before she could finish her sentence, the landline next to her buzzed.
Angela quickly picked it up, "Dad, are you asking if Lanni brought back Tom here?" She craned her neck to look at the first floor entrance… but nothing.
"Dad, no!" Angela frowned, "Aren't Lanni and Tom with Aunty?"
"Your Aunty said that Lanni had already brought Tom home an hour ago. Lanni's phone was not able to reach." Mr. Chen's tone of voice could hardly hide his worry, "Look and see, are they back yet, and have they played in the plaza."
Before he finished speaking, the phone slipped out of Angela's hand.
She ran downstairs.
"Angela, slow down." Barry was shocked, quickly got up and chased after her.
Angela searched through almost every place she could find Tom, yet she couldn't find any trace of her son. Tom seemed to have disappeared.
