Chapter 97
Kindergarten.
Samuel finished school and ran out happily with his little backpack.
The backpack was given by David, who said it was from Michael. Samuel treasured it very much.
Standing in the waiting area, Samuel looked around but didn't see Jasper.
Was Jasper working late today?
"Little bastard." Joseph deliberately bumped into Samuel as he walked past.
Samuel lost his balance and fell to the ground, getting his backpack dirty.
With tears welling up in his eyes, Samuel looked at Joseph angrily, pounced on him and knocked him down, raising his little fist in warning. "Joseph, don't make me hit you."
Joseph was scared by Samuel and started crying.
The teacher quickly came over to break them up. Seeing Joseph on the ground, she rushed over and pushed Samuel away. "Why are you fighting again?"
Samuel felt wronged. "He pushed me first."
The teacher was obviously biased. "Samuel, you have no manners or upbringing. Why do you always hit people at school!"
"Right, no upbringing." Others joined in criticizing Samuel.
"Mommy!" Joseph saw a luxury car parked by the road and cried out for his mother.
Veda came to pick up Joseph. Seeing him crying, she walked over quickly and questioned the teacher. "What happened?"
"It's Samuel. He hit someone again. After all, he's a kid from the slums, so poorly raised." The teacher looked troubled and blamed Samuel.
Samuel gripped his backpack and lowered his head without speaking.
This bad woman was powerful. He would cause trouble for Nora and Jasper.
"You little bastard again. You're just an animal with no father to raise you. How dare you hit my son?" Veda was already full of anger because of James and Luna's mistress situation. She couldn't hold her head up in their social circle anymore.
She grabbed Samuel by the collar and raised her hand to hit him. "Today I'll teach you a lesson on behalf of your slut mother."
Before Veda's hand could come down, someone kicked her from behind.
Veda almost lost her balance. She turned around in shock and disbelief.
The teachers and parents standing nearby were also shocked. Who was this? Who dared to kick Veda?
"Clea? Are you crazy!" Veda recognized the person behind her and shouted hysterically.
Clea picked at her ear with disgust and looked down at her canvas shoes. "I should have worn stilettos today. Would've kicked you harder."
Ignoring Veda's shock, Clea reached out to Samuel. "Samuel, I'm here to pick you up."
When Samuel saw Clea, he rushed over with red eyes. "Clea."
"What's your relationship?" Veda was shocked. What was Clea's relationship with Samuel?
"Haven't you heard? You need to start raising your boyfriend from kindergarten. I'll raise him for eighteen years, and he'll be my boyfriend." Clea pointed at Joseph. "Tell your daughter to stay away from our Samuel. If she bothers him again, I'll snap her neck!"
She raised her hand to scare Joseph.
Joseph cried and hid behind Veda.
Joseph looked like Mason, soft and cute. Aside from being spoiled, he was actually quite adorable.
But he was clearly a boy.
Clea calling him a daughter was obviously an insult.
"Clea! Don't go too far." Veda clenched her fists. She wasn't afraid of the Williams family, but Clea was crazy. Her ex-husband's whole family were crazy people, rumored to kill without blinking. She didn't want to provoke them for now.
"Too far?" Clea laughed and rubbed Samuel's head. "Next time he bullies you, beat him up. Even if you cripple him, I'll pay for it."
Veda and the teachers were shocked. Who dared to speak up?
Clea's presence was too strong.
Samuel hugged Clea and glanced at Joseph.
Joseph hid behind Veda, clearly scared by Clea.
"He's a little bastard. His mom is a liar and criminal. He inherited it from his mom. He's a thief!" Joseph wiped his tears and kept mocking, emboldened by Veda's presence.
"My mom is not a liar! You're the liar." Samuel was very angry.
"A kid wouldn't say these things on his own. You taught him, right?" Clea looked at Veda.
Veda frowned and said nothing.
"Little brat, haven't you heard that your grandma was a mistress who got promoted, and your mom is illegitimate? Know what being a mistress means? It means shamelessly going after someone who's already married! Tell me, did your mom inherit it from your grandma?" Clea didn't care about any so-called upper-class lady image. Her voice was extremely loud.
The parents picking up their kids looked at Clea and Veda in shock.
However, the fact that Veda's mother was a mistress was well known in Emerald City. People just didn't dare mention it out of respect for the Smith family.
Veda's face twisted with anger, her fingers trembling. "Clea! Shut up."
"Afraid to talk about it? Next time you bully Samuel, I'll hold a press conference. Try me if you don't believe it." Clea picked up Samuel and walked away, completely ignoring Veda.
A grown woman actually hitting a child?
If she hadn't deliberately sent Jasper away today and come to pick up Samuel herself, she wouldn't have known how shameless Veda was.
"Clea!" Veda was furious and tried to go forward, but was stopped by the driver. "Little Ms. Smith, let's go quickly."
There were many people here, all recording videos. They were afraid it would trend on social media soon.
Sure enough, Clea publicly calling Veda the daughter of a mistress trended online!
This was undoubtedly a fatal blow to Luna.
The wealthy families all looked down on Luna and Veda. This was trampling on Nolan's dignity.
In the car, Samuel carefully held his little backpack, wiping it again and again with his hand.
"You like this backpack that much?" Clea asked.
Samuel nodded obediently. "It's from Dad..."
After a moment of sadness, Samuel spoke again. "He gave it to me."
Clea leaned over to cheer Samuel up. "Samuel, give me a kiss."
Samuel hesitated, then held Clea's face and kissed her. "I'll take responsibility for you."
Clea burst out laughing, holding her stomach. "You have way more emotional intelligence than Jasper."
Samuel looked confused. "Mommy said you can't kiss randomly. If you kiss, you have to take responsibility. You can only kiss when you grow up. If you kiss, you have to get married."
Clea couldn't help laughing. How could Samuel be so cute? "Your mommy must be very kind."
Someone as stubborn as Jasper - how could his sister Nora be as shameless as the rumors said?
Clea had been in this circle long enough to know that you couldn't believe a single word of the gossip among wealthy families.
"My mommy is the best mommy." Samuel said happily, his eyes seeming to sparkle with stars.
Clea rubbed Samuel's head. "If anyone bullies you in the future, just hit them back. We won't start trouble, but we definitely won't be bullied. I've got your back."
Samuel looked at Clea for a long time, then held her face and kissed her again.
Clea was stunned. Oh no, she'd been charmed by a five-year-old boy. What should she do!
