Chapter 202
Joseph's voice was incredibly loud—when he burst into tears like this, everyone nearby could hear him.
Clea, who was still outside searching, suddenly stopped in her tracks.
Wasn't that Joseph crying?
"Over there!"
Clea walked up to the storage room door with a dark expression and looked inside, "Samuel?"
"Clea!" Samuel smiled happily at Clea, "Don't worry, Joseph and I are both here. School must be over, and the person watching the storage room accidentally locked the door."
Samuel was very kind, immediately explaining on behalf of the storage room employee.
The employee had locked the door on schedule—maybe the teacher hadn't told them that they were in the storage room looking for something.
"Move aside." Clea told Samuel to step back.
She couldn't wait for the principal to send someone to get the key.
With one kick, she broke the door open and pulled Samuel into her arms, "Were you scared?"
Samuel shook his head and pointed at Joseph, who was crying his eyes out, "He's scared."
Clea looked with disgust at Joseph, whose nose was running with bubbles from crying, "Coward."
Though she said this dismissively, Clea still pulled Joseph into her arms too—after all, little kids need to be comforted.
"The teacher told us to go to the storage room to get the flower baskets we made, saying to give them to our parents after school and they'd be happy. Samuel came with me." Joseph cried.
Because he wanted Veda to like him a little more, since Veda said she would pick him up from school today.
That little flower basket was made by Samuel to help Joseph give to Veda.
But the teacher had taken it away during recess.
When Samuel and Joseph asked the teacher where the flower basket was, she said it was in the storage room and told them to find it themselves.
Clea narrowed her eyes and looked back at the principal, "Your teacher is quite something—making two five-year-olds come to the storage room to find things, without informing anyone, without supervision, and throwing away the children's things without permission?"
"It was the teacher's fault. We'll fire her right away." The principal thought this was already very strict handling, since the children weren't hurt.
"Fire her? Let her off that easy? I don't think this is just negligence—this is attempted harm. Call the police and have them check if this teacher has had any large deposits recently, any unexplained income." Clea signaled her people to call the police.
The teacher and principal were so scared their faces turned white, their voices trembling, "Ms. Williams, the children are fine..."
"What are you afraid of? If you haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't feel guilty." Clea pointed at the principal, "Check him too, see if there's any unexplained income."
Dare to target Samuel? All of you can go rot in jail.
Bribery and corruption alone would be enough to put him in prison.
When the principal heard he would be investigated too, his vision went dark and he nearly fainted.
As the principal of Emerald City's best high-end kindergarten, the gray income and embezzlement from his position was enough to keep him in prison for the rest of his life.
"Ms. Williams, Ms. Williams, please don't do this. Samuel and Joseph are fine. Please spare us, give us a way out." The teacher cried, begging Clea.
Clea held Joseph, took Samuel's hand, and looked coldly at the teacher kneeling at her feet, "As a person, you should be down-to-earth. As a teacher, you should set an example. What ruined you was greed. Whether you took bribes, whether someone instructed you—you know best. Tell me now, and maybe I'll show mercy."
Clea's presence was too strong, making the teacher tremble, "It was James from the Smith family. He came to pick up Joseph and told me to find a way to get the children away, just needed to make sure the parents couldn't pick them up temporarily. I thought it would just be for a little while and nothing would happen to the children."
"Ms. Williams, Ms. Williams, please, I really didn't mean to hurt the children."
Clea narrowed her eyes, her expression darkening.
James—this was probably aimed at Michael.
Company competition, family scheming—fine, James could use whatever tactics he wanted, but involving children was too vicious.
---
Clea's villa.
Jasper rushed into the living room in panic, and only relaxed when he saw Samuel and Joseph sitting happily on the sofa playing games.
"Boss..." Jasper looked at Clea gratefully, "Thank you."
"How many thank-yous do you owe me now?" Clea, wearing silk pajamas, propped her face up looking at Jasper.
Jasper coughed lightly, "I..."
"How are you going to thank me? Just with words?" Clea lazily and sexily crossed her legs, those long legs obviously on display for Jasper.
Jasper's body stiffened. He quickly moved in front of Samuel and Joseph, saying helplessly, "The children are here."
Clea rolled her eyes, "Michael and Nora are back, they'll be here soon. They'll take the two kids. If you really want to thank me, don't just talk about it—work overtime tonight."
Jasper covered his forehead with his hand, "Boss, have some self-respect."
"I'm 5.64 feet tall, 120 pounds, measurements 35.4-23.6-35.4 inches! I'm perfect, I don't need self-respect." Clea got up and pressed herself against Jasper.
Jasper instinctively backed away, tripped over the table, and fell onto the sofa.
Clea fell on top of him and deliberately kissed him.
Samuel covered Joseph's eyes with his hand while peeking himself.
"Why cover my eyes?" Joseph was very curious.
"You're too loud." Samuel said quietly.
Joseph obediently shut up.
Then Samuel giggled, "Uncle Jasper, if you kiss a girl, you have to take responsibility."
Clea gave Samuel a thumbs up.
Kids really get it.
Jasper's face darkened with anger, but since Clea was his boss, he could only endure it.
"Samuel!" Outside, Nora also ran in.
Samuel jumped up excitedly and ran over, throwing himself into Nora's arms, "Mom! I missed you so much."
"What about me?" Michael followed in, asking with a smile.
Samuel looked at Michael happily, "I missed Dad too."
Jasper quickly sat up straight and stood to the side.
"We'll take the two kids with us today." Michael said with a smile.
"Michael, James and Luna have lost their minds—even using children." Clea frowned, somewhat displeased.
"Sorry, this was my oversight." Michael had people guarding near the school to protect Samuel, but didn't expect the teacher to trick Samuel into going to the storage room.
"Nolan tricked you into coming back. He's probably waiting at your place right now, isn't he?" Clea reminded Michael that tonight probably wouldn't be peaceful.
"Let them wait." Michael sneered, picked up Samuel and Joseph, and left the Williams Villa.
That night, Michael took Nora and the two little ones to stay at a hotel.
Meanwhile, Nolan and James, who thought he would go home, waited outside Michael's residence for four whole hours without seeing anything.
"Dad, looks like he's not coming back tonight." James said through gritted teeth.
Nolan's expression was also ugly.
Michael had the butler buy ingredients in advance, making it look like he would definitely come home tonight, just to fool them!
"Didn't Nora's birth mother who was in prison get out?" Nolan asked.
James froze for a moment, his heart tightening.
Was Nolan going to target Nora?
"Yes."
"Bring her to see me. I want to have a chat with her." Nolan's voice was low.
