Chapter 180
"Stanley?" Michael's voice was low.
"The second son of Blue Ocean Travel, Stanley." David filled him in on the guy's background.
"Hasn't Blue Ocean Travel been having financial problems lately?" Michael sneered.
Did they all think he was an idiot?
"Yes, their cash flow broke down. Multiple travel agencies across the country have closed, and they're facing lawsuits."
David was getting angry, "I have no idea how many people Nora has gotten involved with. I'll kick him out."
On the other end of the phone, there was noise—that Stanley guy was shouting that he wanted to see Nora and Michael.
"Mr. Smith, he insists on seeing you. He won't leave unless he does." David spoke quietly.
"See me?" Michael's voice was low, "He's not qualified."
"Then let Nora see him? If Stanley really is Samuel's father, let her get rid of him quickly." David thought Nora must be blind—first Walter, now Stanley as Samuel's possible father.
This Stanley was a notorious playboy who had even bullied Nora with those other guys before. Had Nora actually been with him?
"Did a dog eat your brain?" Michael glanced at the time.
Want to see Nora? As if he's worthy.
"No." David realized his mistake, "Mr. Smith, that's not what I meant. I just think Nora attracts too many jerks. I'll take her to church this weekend for a cleansing, get rid of this bad luck."
"Isn't Terry classmates with Stanley?" Michael suddenly thought of his idiot cousin.
"Yes, he likes Nora too. Been chasing her for years." David was totally clueless.
Michael's expression darkened.
"Stir things up a bit, get Terry to handle it." Michael hung up directly.
If David couldn't handle even this, he might as well go home and rest.
In the car, Nora nervously watched Michael on the phone by the roadside. She felt his mood was off.
Had something happened?
"Mr. Smith, is everything okay?" Nora asked nervously.
"It's fine, just company stuff. David's too stupid." Michael leaned against the car door, smiling as he ruffled Nora's hair.
What a quick change—he saved all his favoritism and tenderness for one person.
Nora breathed a sigh of relief, "Mr. Smith, Kurt's called me over a dozen times in just this short while. I think he's starting to get scared."
"Just block him, ignore him. Your task is done. You can leave the rest to your boss." Michael didn't tell Nora about Stanley causing trouble at the company. She didn't need to know.
That trash—he'd handle it.
At the company.
"Blue Ocean Travel, don't you think it's embarrassing to make a scene at our company?" David frowned.
"I said I want to see Michael or Nora. What's with your attitude? What, I'm not good enough?" Stanley snorted and sat down.
The receptionist brought him coffee, but he didn't drink it.
"Here's the thing—you know Terry, right? I heard you guys are classmates. He just called and said you're a scumbag, that you and Nora have no connection at all, that you're a liar." David said with a smile.
"Who?" Stanley looked at David with fury, "Terry?"
David nodded with a smile.
"What is Terry? Just because he couldn't get Nora, he calls other people scumbags? When he was going after Nora, he was worse than a scumbag—he was a lapdog, following Nora around every day like a lapdog. And what happened? Nora didn't even give him the time of day, but she ended up with me."
Stanley sneered, mocking how Terry used to be Nora's lapdog.
Back in school, Nora was the campus goddess. Countless guys pursued her, and even more had secret crushes on her.
Terry was the most blatant lapdog among those chasing Nora.
James was the only one who actually got Nora.
Mason had always been a coward, only daring to have a secret crush, expressing his feelings secretly, never openly.
"So Terry was a lapdog." David asked with a smile.
"More than just a lapdog. When Nora performed on stage, he was the most excited one in the audience. If you didn't know better, you'd think Nora was his girlfriend. To get into the same college as Nora, he suddenly changed and studied like crazy, staying up until midnight." Stanley mocked Terry.
"He even fought with James over Nora back then—only he would do something like that! Calling other people scumbags—he's just jealous, jealous that Nora was with me and never with him." Stanley said proudly.
David maintained his professional smile throughout, turned off his phone recording, and sent the video to Terry with a message: [Stanley says you're Nora's lapdog, and that Nora is his woman. He's here bad-mouthing you.]
Terry watched the video and replied with a question mark.
David sent another text: [Just a friendly reminder—Nora's been Mr. Smith's favorite lately. If he finds out Stanley came to the company to cause trouble, you'll probably get dragged into it too.]
Terry was still at home reflecting on his mistakes because of Evelyn's false accusations. His parents still weren't giving him a friendly face.
Stanley, that idiot—was he bored and looking for death? Going to the Smith Group to provoke Michael?
After a while, Terry replied: [I'll be there in twenty minutes. Tell him to wait for me if he's got the guts! Damn it, if they want to die, go die, but don't drag me into it. Why has this year been so unlucky for me?!]
Terry headed to the Smith Group in a fury.
David was satisfied with Terry's temper, and Michael was clearly using him.
Putting away his phone, David spoke very politely to Stanley, "Stanley, I'd advise you not to discuss these private matters at the company. Your situation with Ms. Nora Adams should be resolved privately. Don't you think?"
"Whatever you say doesn't matter. Nora works here, right?" Stanley tapped the table.
David nodded politely, "Yes."
"Then I'm not leaving. I have to see her today."
"Sorry, she's already off work today."
David sighed, feeling sorry for Stanley.
Once Terry arrived, things were going to get lively at the company.
Stanley snorted, "Then call her back."
David smiled faintly, "Then you just wait here. She'll be here soon."
David got up and told security in advance to clear the scene later—don't let outsiders near after work hours.
A quiet clearing, letting Terry perform freely.
"David, let me tell you, I have to see Nora today. What is this? Starting something and then abandoning it, you know? How much money have I spent on her, how much effort have I put in? Now that she's sucking up to Mr. Smith, she thinks she can dump me? Not a chance."
Stanley was still ruining Nora's reputation.
Just as he finished speaking, Terry floored the gas pedal, stopped his car at the company entrance, and stormed in furiously.
David watched quietly, signaling security to set up barriers so no one could see.
They cleared the area here, and over there the fight broke out.
Terry had always had a hot temper since childhood, plus with his family pressuring him about marriage, he was full of anger with nowhere to vent.
David stood calmly to the side watching, having called an ambulance in advance, keeping control of the situation.
