Chapter 231

Chapter 231

Cruz stayed in the backyard downstairs for over an hour.

After he left, Olivia watched his figure fade away through the window and asked Michael in a low voice, "Do you believe what he said?"

Michael's expression was serious. "Whether I believe him or not doesn't matter. What matters is that the method he mentioned is indeed the only option we have right now."

He turned his head, his features relaxing, and smiled at Olivia. He held her hand and brought it to his lips for a light kiss, then continued, "Even if he hadn't said it, I would have done the same thing."

Her cool fingertips curled slightly, gripping the back of his hand. Michael noticed Olivia's gaze darken instantly.

He raised his eyebrows reassuringly. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

Upstairs, Fallon started making a scene again.

Olivia withdrew her hand and said quietly, "You go get the doctor. I'll go check on her."

When she went upstairs, she saw Fallon holding a glass vase, her eyes bloodshot as she glared furiously at the servants.

Several servants were too scared to approach, standing at the doorway looking at each other helplessly.

Olivia pushed past them and was about to walk forward when they grabbed her sleeves to stop her. "Ms. Smith, don't go over there."

"That's right, Ms. Smith. She just had an episode. If you go now, she might hurt you."

Olivia didn't respond. She gently pushed away the hands holding her and slowly moved forward a few steps.

Fallon immediately screamed like a madwoman, "Don't come near me!"

"Don't worry," Olivia said soothingly, "I mean no harm. I just want to talk to you."

With each step Olivia took forward, Fallon's voice became sharper.

The servants behind her grew more worried, staying close to Olivia and watching Fallon's every move.

If she made any sudden movement, they would immediately rush forward to pull Olivia back.

Under everyone's concerned gaze, Olivia stepped forward. "Fallon, you're not wrong for not wanting to share a room with a cheating man."

Fallon's raised hand paused slightly. Her eyes widened as she tilted her head, studying Olivia with confusion, and finally stopped showing any aggressive behavior.

Olivia felt a bit more at ease and moved closer. "A man who can't even tell you and your sister apart isn't worth you doing anything for him."

"Think about it—if he really loved you, how could he not tell you and your sister Opal apart?"

Fallon's briefly relaxed brow furrowed again, and her alarm-like shrill voice pierced the air once more. "You all want to drive me to my death! Don't come near me!"

With that, she smashed the glass vase, picked up a shard, and held it against her own neck.

The sharp glass instantly cut Fallon's skin, leaving a bloody wound.

Crimson blood began seeping out along her skin.

"Fallon," Olivia was terrified and immediately stopped moving. "Think about your son Michael. If you die, what will happen to him?"

"He's still so young and needs your care. If something happens to you, the Johnson family and the Porter family will all bully him. He's too young to deal with those evil people."

Fallon's fingers loosened slightly, and the glass shard wobbled in her palm.

She softly repeated Michael's nickname, "Mike, Mike—how is he now? Are they bullying Mike? Are they mistreating him?"

"Put that down and I'll tell you, okay?" Olivia carefully moved forward a few steps.

Fallon frowned, staring at her with suspicion.

Seeing she wouldn't let her get closer, Olivia continued, "Mike asked me to tell you something. He doesn't want others to hear our conversation. I want to talk to you alone, okay?"

Fallon actually smiled, showing a childlike innocent expression on her tense face. "Mike has a secret to tell me?"

"Yes." Olivia nodded.

The glass pressed against Fallon's neck finally slowly loosened.

Taking this opportunity, Olivia stepped forward and snatched the glass from her hand. Before she could react, Olivia leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Mike wants you to know that he's aware of all the wrongs you've suffered, and he'll make them answer for it."

Fallon's eyes suddenly reddened. Her frail shoulders trembled, her legs went weak, and she collapsed onto the bed.

Olivia sat beside her and checked the wound on her neck.

It was just a superficial cut, nothing serious.

The doctor arrived quickly and gave her a thorough examination.

Just as Cruz had said, Fallon had suffered severe external trauma, developed psychological problems, and occasionally showed signs of split personality.

The doctor speculated that while she had been stable before, today's sudden aggressive behavior must have been triggered by external stimulation.

As for what exactly that stimulation was, since it involved psychological issues, further exploration was needed. The doctor couldn't determine the cause in the short term.

But Olivia and Michael had a pretty good guess.

It seemed that during Aaron's stay at the Johnson Mansion, though everything appeared calm on the surface and he seemed to do nothing, he had actually been making moves behind the scenes.

By the time Fallon was settled, it was already afternoon.

Michael instructed Byron to gather people from the dark web for a meeting.

This time, he was determined to catch Aaron, Fallon, and everyone planning to harm the Johnson Group in one sweep, and make them pay the price they deserved.

Before leaving, Michael told Olivia, "After I leave, I'll have people escort you and the two children to stay outside the city for a while. Once everything here is settled, I'll bring you back."

Olivia's lips moved slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but in the end she simply nodded. "Okay, I'll do as you say."

That night, she took Amelia and Nora and followed a team from the dark web out through the back door of the Johnson Mansion.

Michael had already arranged a car there.

After getting the two children and Fallon into the car, Olivia told the driver, "Drive."

"Mom?" Amelia asked, puzzled. "Aren't you coming with us?"

This afternoon, hadn't Olivia said she would go with them?

Olivia cupped Amelia's face and rubbed it gently. "You and Nora go first. Mom will come get you very soon."

"No." Nora rushed forward and grabbed Olivia's hand. "Mom, if we're leaving, let's leave together."

Compared to Amelia, she was more sensitive to the changes in the Johnson family.

From the events of the past few days, Nora had keenly sensed that major changes might be coming to the Johnson family.

She gripped Olivia's hand tightly. "Mom, I've already been separated from you for so many years. This time, no matter what happens, I want to be with you. I don't want to be apart again."

"That's right, Mom." Amelia was even bolder, already trying to jump out of the car. "No matter what happens, our family should stay together."

Olivia blocked the car door, grabbed Amelia's arm, and pushed her back inside. "Amelia! Are you going to listen to me or not?"

This was the first time in Amelia's life that Olivia had spoken to her so sternly.

Amelia froze immediately, staring at her in shock, not daring to answer.
