Escaping the Darkness

Escaping the Darkness
Alroy gnashes his teeth, forcing Ciaran’s head backward. His head hits the rock with a loud thud. Ciaran winces and bites his upper lip to stifle the reaction trying to escape.

“I can feel your breath, little brother.” Alroy smacks his lips. “Taste your sweat.”

Ciaran sucks in a breath. He tries hard not to exhale. He feels Alroy step away from him. The mammoth man steps sideways before approaching Ciaran again. When Alroy moves away, Ciaran takes the opportunity to switch positions. He pushes his shoulder into the wall of the cave and slinks around Alroy. Alroy screams in pain as he slams into the rock column where he is expecting Ciaran to be.

Shaking off the sting, Alroy adjusts his position. Ciaran feels his large hands wrap around his upper arms, crushing his biceps and triceps into one muscle. Unable to stifle the scream, Ciaran cries out and curses.

“Now, I have you, little brother.” Alroy squeezes tighter. Ciaran’s knees start to buckle.

Ciaran remains silent, trying desperately to think of a way out of this nightmare.

“What, no witty comment for your big brother?” Alroy taunts as his nails break through Ciaran’s skin.

Ciaran says nothing.

“Just as well.” Blood tickles down Ciaran’s arms. Alroy licks his lips. “Wonder if you taste as sweet as your little fiance?” Alroy draws his head close to Ciaran’s, hoping he is whispering in Ciaran’s ear. “She is such a good fuck, little brother.”

Ciaran butts his head forward, slamming into the bridge of Alroy’s nose. Alroy whelps and releases his hold on Ciaran. With eyes swelling and beginning to water, he tries to regain his grip on Ciaran, but his little brother is no longer there.

After the headbutt, Ciaran quickly slithers down the hall and makes his way towards the still open portal on the other side of the cave. As he nears the dimly glowing light, a solid hand grasps and pushes down on his shoulder, sending him to his knees on the wet cavern floor.

“I can see you now, little brother.” Alroy pushes harder against Ciaran’s shoulder. Ciaran catches himself with one hand, unable to use his other hand due to Alroy’s grip. He looks over his shoulder to see the outline of Alroy, hovering above him.

“Now, little brother. Let me tell you everything I did to that precious fiance of yours. She can be quite nasty with the proper motivation.” Alroy cackles and kicks Ciaran in the rear, sending him sprawling flat on the floor.

The movement propelling Ciaran forward causes Alroy to lose his hold on Ciaran’s shoulder. Ciaran slithers across the ground, getting closer to the portal. Alroy notices his attempt to escape and grabs Ciaran’s ankle, pulling him back towards him. Ciaran thrashes about trying to break Alroy’s grip. The attempt is futile and again Alroy has Ciaran locked down.

Alroy crouches down beside his captive. He brushes Ciaran’s sweat drenched hair from his face. “I want to see your eyes when I tell you how Quinn writhed with pleasure beneath me.”

“She would never!” Ciaran spits at Alroy. He tries to free himself, but Alroy pushes down on Ciaran’s back, pinning him in place.

Alroy continues his vile taunt, “She screamed out my name and several praises to her god when I brought her to climax over and over again.” Alroy stoops lower. His lips inches from Ciaran’s ear. “Such a willing whore. I can’t wait until she has my baby.” He laughs. “Probably fuck her right after so she has another one. Your bastard child will mean nothing.”

Anger swells in Ciaran. He musters the strength to turn himself onto his back. Alroy, stunned by the sudden flip, tries to adjust his hold on Ciaran. As he squats closer, Ciaran sits up, butting Alroy in the chin with his forehead. Both men fall backward with the impact. Ciaran recovers first and tries to scramble to his feet.

Alroy, still dazed and confused, reaches out to control Ciaran, only to grab a handful of air. The portal opening continues to decrease in size. Ciaran makes another attempt to get through it before it closes. He jumps forward, hoping to dive through the portal, but the opening is too small. It closes by the time he reaches it. Ciaran’s forward motion sends him head first into the cave wall behind the now closed portal.

Ciaran curls into a fetal position. He wraps his arms around his head and rocks on his hip. The ringing between his ears seems to echo in the cavern. Then Alroy’s boisterous  voice replaces the incessant ringing.

“Damn, little brother!” He smirks as he feels his way towards Ciaran. The cave is now void of any light. “You are making this easy on me.”

Ciaran barely understands Alroy’s words. His head still throbs from the collision with the wall. He musters up a little strength and scooches himself towards the wall of impact. He cannot see, but he can feel Alroy getting closer to him.

When Alroy steps in front of Ciaran, he feels Ciaran’s body heat emanating off the wall. Although he can not see him, he knows exactly where Ciaran is. Alroy tries to open another portal from inside the cavern. He waves his hand up and down commanding forth the opening. Nothing happens.

Alroy tries again, concentrating on the opening. Still, no passage appears. How is he to get Ciaran back? He wishes to use his broken little brother to draw out Quinn, get her to surrender to him. If she loves him, she will sacrifice for him. His plan does not work if cannot open a portal to get him back.

A realization sets in after Alroy makes several attempts to open a portal. The reason he chose this cave in this corner of the Mag Mell is because one can get into the cave, but one cannot get out of the cave, even with magic. He curses his luck. Why did the portal have to close?

As Alroy spits and cusses his poor decision making, Ciaran scoots his way further down the cave wall. As he reaches the center of the wall, a blinding light shoots through the cavern. Ciaran feels a large hand clamp down on his shoulder. The hand pulls Ciaran backwards through the wall. Instantaneously, Ciaran scraps his hands on concrete as he tries to focus on his new surroundings. He is no longer in the cave, but where is he exactly? Who pulled him through the portal?
