Chapter 84 A Pest Dependent On His Life

Chapter 84 A Pest Dependent On His Life
BELLA'S POV

Life has never been more easier or more promising. It's like Usher's absence is all that was needed for things to be this appealing.

It has been a week since Hayden saved my life for the second time. A few good things have happened, including West apologizing to Mary and the two becoming lovers.

Everything can't be excellent of course, but we have to appreciate it when we have been happy.

Hayden's Father is the kind of person that loves to throw a party for every reason. But this time we managed to convince him that we didn't need a massive ceremony to celebrate my unexpected good health.

So we only had a little party for those that live within the palace, including all servants.

We however will have another grand wedding. One without drama, hopefully.

The plan is still ongoing. The right day hasn't been decided yet.

Meanwhile we have been having fun visiting parts of the Kingdom that I have never visited before. Touring places is much easier when you can fly.

People were very welcoming to us which is another thing that made me love the little tours. I didn't grow up being treated like I matter. Now it's totally different and it's enjoyable.

But today we decided to keep our feet on the ground so Hayden can teach me how to use a sword.

Training sword fighting is tough and requires a lot of focusing. It's also exciting when you're doing it with someone you trust. Because then you're not worried of being hurt intentionally.

The swords we are using are made of iron so they can't go past our skin no matter how much strength is applied by the one holding it.

That hasn't stopped a crowd gathering around us, which is unnerving because so many are cheering me despite the fact that I am the one being trained.

I didn't know I am a fast learner until I began blocking all of Hayden's attacks like I am already an expert.

He is of course going easy on me. But I am making remarkable progress on my first day of training, otherwise the crowd of fans around us would already be bored.

I feel like I have been defending myself throughout the training, so I decide to make my first attack.

I go for his neck after blocking his attack that was aimed at my abdomen. We are swinging the swords in slow motion so one has time to react before it hits their skin.

The sword can not cause any injuries to us of course. But no one likes having a sharp object collide with their skin.

He is surprised that I attacked but does manage to block my swing in the last minute. The crowd erupt with cheers.

The ladies cheer the most because they want Hayden to be beaten in a fight by a lady. So I put more effort on their behalf and make another smart attack.

I aim for his chest knowing very well he will block the attack. But while he concentrates on doing that, I take a step forward so we are really close and wrap a hand around his waist.

His eyebrows shoot up in surprise. I just attacked him, now I am embracing him. But while he figures out my shocking behavior, I move a foot forward and sweep his feet in one swift move. He goes down and the crowd bursts out laughing.

"I hate your tactics!" Hayden exclaims, laughing himself. "Do you have to embarrass me every time I try to teach you something?"

"I was trying to teach you something as well. People also use tricks to fight." I defend.

"That only worked because it was you." He says, standing again.

"I didn't think the first person to kick your ass would be your mate. It was interesting to watch!" West's voice teases. I turn to see him and Skylar on horseback, the same horse Skylar was given by the Alpha of Silver Moon.

I suspect he pleaded with West to go horse riding with him. He isn't old enough to be riding a horse alone.

"I didn't know you hate me so much!" Hayden says, pretending he to be emotionally hurt.

"Nope. We were only interested in seeing you lose a fight." West replies.

His statements are always honest and straightforward. He is a man that never bothers to conceal his feelings.

"Uncle West and I are going out of the gates to ride my horse. Would you like to come?" Skylar asks.

"The three of us can't fit up there honey." I tell him.

"Angels don't like riding horses, too slow for them." West says. He really is good at making people feel uncomfortable. But he is a good person anyway. He can be cruel when he thinks it's necessary, but he is not evil or self-centered.

"Hayden likes horses." Skylar defends us.

"No, he pretends he does do we don't feel bad about our lack of wings." West says.

The horse goes past us and runs towards the palace gates. I turn to Hayden who appears suddenly perturbed.

"I have this strange feeling. Like I have . . . a . . . connection with someone out there." He says, seeming not so sure of what he is saying.

"It's alright if you feel like you have a connection, you and I are connected, right?"

"Yeah, our bond is really strong, like two magnets." He says with a smile. "But I am talking of another bond that feels very weak. It has no affection in it and I rarely feel it."

"That doesn't make sense." I say.

"What I am saying is I feel like I am acting like someone's source of life. It's strange because the feather I ripped out of my wing was only used to heal you." He explains more clearly and I finally see the strangeness in what he is saying.

He used his golden feather to heal me. I wasn't totally dead, there was still a part of me that was stubbornly clinging to life, thanks to the power of being a golden winged angel.

Hayden's feather healed me. It's power created the flesh that filled up the hole made on my chest by the sword. The fact that a part of him was used to heal me makes our bond stronger.

He shouldn't be feeling like he is a source of someone else's life unless another one of his feathers was used to heal someone else.

But he has not given away any feathers, so how would anyone have gotten one?

"It's been a week and I haven't heard any rumors about Usher's burial. Do you think her mother could have in any way come across one of your feathers?" I ask.

"I don't think so." He answers.

"Can you know who the person connected to you is if they are close to you?"

"I think so. I could barely feel the connection before today. I think they are now closer. But not enough for me to see them."

I take his hand and place a kiss on the back of it. It's not a sexy thing to do when you're a lady, but I want to cheer him up. "We will figure it out, there is no need to feel worried." I say.

A smile curves on his lips. "You must be the sweetest person on Earth."

"No, Skylar is."
