Epilogue
Dana POV:
Two Years Later...
It's been two years since everything happened between Blake, Jason, and me. Everything has completely changed since then.
Blake found himself and he finally gathered the courage to come out to his family and tell them about his sexuality. As expected, they didn't take it very well and things were pretty rough for him at first. Although Blake's mother eventually came around and accepted her son for who he was, his father adamantly refused to see him. He even went as far as removing Blake as the CEO of the company and handed it over to Blake's cousin, who wasn't even very familiar with how the company worked.
At first, Blake suffered a mental breakdown but with the help of Samuel, his new boyfriend, he was able to overcome it and get back on his feet again. Now, he is happily married to Samuel, and they even successfully adopted a baby a few months ago.
As for Jason, he isn't exactly someone that's easy to meet with anymore because the man never stays in one place for too long. He finally revealed that he was the artist behind his wonderful artworks. When people found out that such a handsome man was behind the disturbing yet inspiring paintings, he became a hot topic. Now, he basically just travels all over the world to find inspiration and comes up with masterpieces that are worth millions of dollars. Surprisingly, he still sends Blake, Brian, and me special invitations to any of his exhibitions and he even keeps in touch with us.
A lot has happened in my life as well. After telling Brian about my pregnancy, he immediately accepted the responsibility. Blake and I ended up getting a divorce about two months after the entire mess, which means he and I were barely married for six months. In such a short period, everything in our lives was completely turned upside down.
Well, like Blake predicted, Brian did have a crush on me for some weird reason. Although I didn't feel the same way at first, as time went on, I got to know the guy and I eventually fell in love with him. After giving birth to our daughter, Emma, Brian proposed to me, and we got married about a year ago. It still surprises that I ended up marrying him because as it turns out, Brian isn't just anyone.
He was the last son of Eric Anderson, owner of one of the biggest law firms in the United States. Not only did he own a law firm, but he also owned several luxurious hotels and resorts. Brian also made a reputation for himself for being one of the best lawyers in the country and he also had different bars and clubs opened in the city, including the bar where we met.
As for my siblings, Jencarlos is still in college, Ximena is in her final year in high school, and Carmen is a freshman in high school. Carlos is still the hothead that he has always been. Ximena is way more relaxed now but definitely still a rude brat. As for Carmen, she's still the most understanding sibling I have.
And Samantha? She thought she finally found herself a great guy who would finally accept her as a single mother, but unfortunately, his mother and Sam never really got along. His mother never stopped taunting her for being a single mother, and Sam being the impatient person she is, walked out of the relationship and chose to stay by herself.
"You look pale, Dana," Sam pointed out, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I'm pretty sure it's nothing, Sam. It's just the cold weather getting to my skin and making me look sick," I assured her, and she frowned.
"I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference between an ice-cold face and a sick one. Your face looks way too pale to just be the cold weather," she insisted. Knowing how persistent Sam could be, I knew she wouldn't back down from this topic until she confirmed that she was wrong.
"So, what am I supposed to do about it? It's probably nothing serious. I'll just drop by a pharmacy later and get some drugs. Stop worrying yourself," I told her, hoping she didn’t push any further.
"Are you pregnant, Dana?" she asked out of nowhere.
"What do you mean pregnant, Sam? What do you take me for—a baby making factory? I can't possibly push out another kid when Emma isn't even two years old," I reply finding her question very ridiculous.
"Have you perhaps felt nauseous in the last couple of days?" she asks. I frown.
"No Sam, I haven't been nauseous and I'm not pregnant. If you have nothing better to do than talk about ridiculous assumptions, then go find someone else to taunt and don't bother me," I hiss. She scoffs before getting to her feet.
"I'll get back to work now, darling, but I'd advise you to take a pregnancy test or something because, baby girl, I am almost certain that you're about to drop another one for our dearest Bria. There's absolutely nothing you can say to change my mind,” she said before walking away. I throw death glares at her retreating figure.
I let out a sigh as soon as she’s out of sight and place my hand gently on my belly. Could Samantha really be right? Did I really get myself pregnant again? But I immediately dismissed the thought. The last thing I wanted was to raise another baby when Emma is still so young. Like Sam once said, being a mother isn't child's play at all.
"There's only one way to find out," I mutter to myself after deliberating for a while. I head off to get a pregnancy test so I can prove to Samantha that I'm not pregnant and finally be at peace with myself.
