Chapter 177 Truly blessed

Of course, after a day or two of resting, the restless and enthusiastic quadruplets wouldn’t let their parents forget their promise of bringing them to play.

And every chance they had, they’d always remind the couple, so on the third day, Valencia and Maverick packed the quadruplets’ things and set off for their vacation.

Even though the quadruplets were the ones who pestered their parents to bring them to play, when it was time to leave, they clung to their grandparents with reluctance. They expressed, “Bye, Grandma, Grandma. We’ll miss you.”

Still, it wasn’t enough to hide how much of a good mood they were in.

The quadruplets were in such a good mood that Aviva finally got the wish of Baby Orson letting her carry him and pull his cheeks, perhaps for the last time.

Suddenly, Maverick’s phone rang, and he walked to the side to pick it up upon seeing that it was Axel who had called.

“Master, I have cleared all the negative posts about Miss Valencia from the internet. I have sent Amelia out of the Vandenberg family and sent her abroad. Also, the men over there said Tatiana had gone through the planned torture, and she might die in two to three days max.”

Maverick tucked his hands into his pockets and indifferently let out, “En.”

Suddenly, Assistant Cliff’s fawning voice drifted from the other end of the phone, “Boss, since you are in a good mood today, do you think I have done well these couple of years…?”

Immediately, Maverick understood the hint that Assistant Cliff meant. In fact, Assistant Cliff tried a lot. He was really good.

“You can take a vacation, and you have a salary increment. Thank you, Assistant Cliff.”

Upon hearing this, Assistant Cliff felt that all the trouble he had gone through in the past was worth it.

Vacation. Salary increment. And thank you from the boss. Really perfect. Most sweet!

“Dad, can you play like this?” Iverson excitedly yelled at the top of his voice while playing video games at the arcade and flaunting a new skill he had accidentally discovered for himself.

Maverick gasped as if he couldn’t believe what he had just seen. “Wow, this is so cool. How did little man learn this? No. Of course not; Dad doesn’t know this skill yet unless you teach me. Only Baby Iverson can play the best,” Maverick coaxed loudly and continued to play so poorly that Iverson ended up winning again.

Iverson grinned and flexed his little muscles as if to show that he was powerful. “I beat Dad. I’m a great player. I beat Dad!” he excitedly said and scurried off to Hudson and Iris.

Maverick chuckled and ruffled his hair before going over to join Orson, who was dealing with computer issues. This boy was truly too obsessed with computers. Even more than Maverick when Maverick was young.

Maverick even heard that it was thanks to the quadruplets’ skills that Valencia was saved from his mansion that time. Maverick didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. It was his quadruplets who planned against him. Luckily, it was all a thing of the past.

“Mind if I help, little man?” Maverick sat beside Orson and extended his hand.

Orson arched his brows and smirked with an amused retort, “Isn’t Dad a poor player?” It was clear he was mocking Maverick for tricking his siblings all day.

Of course, Orson wouldn’t be fooled so easily into believing that his dad would lose. Orson knew how brilliant his father was according to the news, so he knew what his father could do. And losing was on purpose.

Maverick chuckled and pulled Orson’s cheek. This boy wouldn’t let himself be tricked or pretend not to notice that he was being tricked.

Maverick sat next to Orson and challenged, “Alright. You want to compete with Dad?”

Orson’s eyes twinkled, and he naturally nodded to signify yes.

After a few minutes, Orson pursed his lips in grievance and stared at Maverick unhappily. “Dad, can’t you let me win once?” He had already been beaten thrice in just a few minutes. Dad was really extraordinary.

At that moment, Orson craved the special treatment his siblings had gotten even though he was the one who kicked against it.

In fact, Orson was so good that he was doing what several professional adults couldn’t do, which signified how brilliant he was.

Maverick had been using this game to test how skilled the boy was. Even he was stunned by Orson’s ability.

“Orson, you are so good.” Maverick chuckled and ruffled his hair. “Let’s play again.”

Finally, he gave Baby Orson the satisfaction he wanted, which left Orson grinning happily and enjoying the moment like his other sibling, “I beat Dad.”

Orson stood up and shut his laptop. “I don’t want to play anymore. I want to play with Iris, Hudson, and Iverson.” The three were currently building a sandcastle, and it looked fun.

“Go on.” Maverick tucked his hands into his pockets and made his way to Valencia.

The woman was sunbathing while drinking juice and watching the kids play, a wide smile on her face.

Unable to resist, Valencia picked up her phone to take pictures and videos of the quadruplets, just like she had been doing.

Valencia swiped through her phone gallery, and her lips curved up when she saw pictures of Maverick playing with Iris, with Hudson, with Iverson, and with Orson, and the father and quadruplets playing together.

Valencia’s smile widened, and her eyes softened. She was blessed. Truly blessed.

Suddenly, Valencia recalled something important—it had been months since she updated her social media. She finally had a chance.

Valencia extended her hand, took a picture of her ring, and captioned it: “I said yes.” Accompanying the caption was a sweet cat filled with joy.

Maverick had just sat next to her when he received a vibration signifying a notification alert.

Maverick kept his phone on mute, and the only reason he’d get an alert was if it related to his woman.

Seeing her post, Maverick’s lips curved up in amusement, and he chuckled. He reposted her post with the caption: “The luckiest man alive.”

Next, he posted a photo of the whole family, making sure the quadruplets’ faces were hidden. Their faces couldn’t be revealed to the public. He captioned it: “The beautiful gift of life.”

As soon as they were done updating their social media, they threw their phones back into their bags, paying no mind to how they had just crashed the online world.

Maverick intertwined their hands together and stared into her eyes after kissing her lips. “I love you.”

Valencia rested her head on Maverick’s shoulder and sweetly proclaimed, “I love you too.”

“Mom, Dad, come and check out our sandcastle!” the little quadruplets eagerly beckoned at Valencia and Maverick, pausing their sweet moments.

The couple’s faces glowed with a smile as they made their way toward the children while holding hands.
