Chapter 33
I turned to face the opposite side of my bed, giggling. I could not believe yesterday actually happened. I actually skipped school, and Joseph came here, he took care of me. Another round of giggling spilled through my lips as I remembered the way he threw himself in to my room through a window. He literally flung himself out of his own window and into mine.
Blush covered my neck and spread upwards to my face, the image of him in mom's apron flashed in my head, making me to duck under the duvet, laughing like crazy.
"I told you to stay in bed.." he said once he noticed I was in the door way. I remember looking away sharply, because I didn't want him to know I was gawking openly at how his muscles flexed as he made the very delicious pasta.
"Now, go back in, I'd hate for you to know about my secret ingredient." He said light heartedly as he steered me out of the kitchen.
Then I gladly went with him without any form of resistance. I moved to the room and tucked myself in. And dozed off after a few minutes. When he brought the pasta to me later, I was on the stars, literally, I was bouncing from feet to feet. Later when I told Sophie, she gaped at me, because in her words, "not many people have their first crush cooking for them, you are among the few chosen ones." I blushed at that.
He left almost immediately I was done eating, because mom had come back from work. Before then he watched me eat, even fed me a few forkful. I thought I burst into tiny hearts then.
My eyes rested on my alarm clock, and I shot out of bed like a lightening bolt. Stretching a bit, I noticed I felt better, even if I wasn't feeling better, I would have gone to school because I missed so much. I winced at my carelessness, missing school was not me.
I got into my bathroom and remembered that he was in here yesterday and now I was here, suddenly I was self conscious. I finished having my bath in a twinkle of an eye.
I was wearing my pyjamas shorts and a pink top with no bra underneath when i got down for my hot chocolate. A towel on my head, I didn't look where I was going until I bumped into someone, and before I could fall back, a hand slipped around my waist and pulled me up.
My towel slipped from my head, and my eyes widened to the size of the moon.
"Good morning." He said smiling.
He was really close to me, I could perceive the scent of his mouth wash, it was mint. I saw his face up close, it was free of blemishes, so so smooth. Before I could stop myself I pecked his cheek.
His brown eyes looked stunned, and that was when I knew I had messed up. I couldn't look away from his shocked looking eyes, and I could not move my body from his. We were pressed together, his body heat somehow managed to by pass his black button up shirt, and through my Minnie mouse pink top and was assaulting my body. And doing weird stuff to my insides.
Suddenly I couldn't breathe properly. I felt hot, which was weird because I had a warm bath, and the Weather was not hot. I guess he felt it too, because he instantly released me.
"I uhm.. I.." he seemed to have forgotten how to strong words properly. I blinked a million times to get my bearings together.
"I came to check if you were okay, and maybe walk you to school?" He asked, not so sure why he himself was here.
"Thank you for checking in... I'm great... Couldn't use the window today?" I asked jokingly to ease the growing tension.
"What window?" Mom asked.
I whirled around to find both my parents and Gabby standing by the kitchen counter, mouths wide open. Except for mom. I gulped, they saw everything?
"Mom, Dad, good morning... When did you get here?" I asked nervously.
"Before you.." Mom said looking between both us with curiosity.
I looked towards Joseph, he was looking just as awkward as I felt.
"I will be right back, let me go get dressed." I say as I remembered I was not wearing a bra.
"Your hot chocolate?" Dad asked passing me a mug. He still looked shocked.
I take it from him gratefully before I dash up stairs. My heart was pounding the same way my feet pounded the stairs.
I try to catch my breath once I was in my room, away from them.
"What was that?" Gabby asked immediately she entered my room.
I frown, I wanted to be alone.
"Go away Gabby, I have to get dressed and go to school."
"School wasn't so important for the past two days, so tell me." She demanded.
"Well it certainly is now." I say in a tone of finality.
"I'll definitely find out about this, you just wait." She said before leaving.
By the time I was downstairs, I find Joseph with our family picture album. I groan.
"We have to go now." I say hooking my hand with his before dragging him out of the house.
I see Andrina's car outside the house, both of them sat inside with eyes wide open, and jaws dropping. Before I could take a step forward, Sophie urged Andrina to drive away. And she did. She sped along the asphalt road.
"Well that was weird." Joseph commented looking at the tail of the car as it left.
I was going to say something but I could see both my parents struggling to look at us through the window. I felt shame. Tugging him quickly by the arm, I walk really fast out of their sight. I guess he knew, because he chuckled.
"Parents huh?"
I blushed. He removed his arm from my hand, and put my hand in his. I blushed again. His big hands accommodated mine perfectly.
"What's your favorite color?" I blurted a of a sudden.
He slowed down our walk, but not stopping completely. He glanced at me, chuckling a bit.
"I like to think I don't have one, but grey speaks to me in a way.."
I nodded in understanding.
"I see you like pink." He says in a playful tone.
I let out a small laugh.
"Favourite food?" He asked.
"Pasta." I say remembering yesterday.
"Mine too."
When we got to school I find we are more similar than I thought and at the same time we were very different. I didn't know how that could be possible but it was.
"What is this?" A very angry Debbie asked when we entered.
