Sophia's POV.
“Andrea!!” I cried. I wiggled my arms in an attempt to free them from the tight ropes. Of course, I failed miserably at that. The ropes were just too tight.
She was barely able to breathe and her eyes slowly opened.
She whimpered helplessly.
“Ughh...Curse you!” Her voice was hoarse and bitter. “We only tolerated you because of your mother and that was why you were given an invite to my brother's birthday! You're evil!!”
Harvey laughed and kicked her over the stomach. She coughed and I hopelessly struggled to free my hands!
“Harvey!!! Wha—” I swallowed.
“Why is Andrea here?!” I screamed at him.
He eyed me carelessly, eyes colder than that of a murderer.
“Why are you doing this to us?” I sniffed at him helplessly.
He said nothing, just kept looking at me.
Andrea coughed again.
“He's a bastard, Sophia. Don't even try conversing with him.” She spat. “A piece of shit like him doesn't even—” She didn't get a chance to finish because his foot hit her stomach again.
“Whores are not allowed to talk about pieces of shit.” His voice made my blood freeze. Andrea screamed in pain.
“Stop! I'm begging you. Stop hitting her. She won't hold on for—” he let out a loud hysterical laugh.
“Who said I give a damn about that? Ask Andrea Hayes how much of a gentleman I am.” He smiled smugly.
Andrea said nothing. She simply wiggled until she was sitting up and glared at him. She spat in his direction.
It didn't reach him. He was standing two feet away and she was on the ground.
Harvey's eyes widened and evil flickered in them. He clenched his fists and was ready to march at her again.
I immediately threw my body in front of hers and closed my eyes, waiting for the blow to land. It didn't.
I felt nothing.
Slowly opening my eyes, I found Harvey's fists inches away from my face. He looked down at me.
“You.....” He growled. “Move away.”
I shook my head. “Why...” I wet my lips and continued. “Why did you take Andrea? Wasn't I enough to lure Mr Hayes here?” Tears streamed down my face. “Haven't you gotten enough of hurting people already?”
He chuckled slowly and his eyes glowed.
“I'd never get enough of particularly seeing Andrea Hayes in pain.” He flashed a smile towards the shivering Andrea behind me and continued. “This whore helped in my ruin.”
This last sentence sent shivers through my body.
The smile disappeared from his face and his expression turned to pure composed rage.
He reached towards Andrea behind me and I gasped, unable to act fast enough.
His hand gripped her bruised face and he pulled her up, ignoring her whines of pain.
“Sto—” I started to say but he cut me off.
“Don't you remember, love?” He whispered to her ear, audibly enough for us to hear. He slowly came closer and bit her ear.
Andrea shook her head crazily and groaned. “Don't....touch me you–”
“I still remember perfectly how you managed to distract me that day while buying time for my ex-wife to escape.” He bit harder on her ear and I saw more tears stream down her face.
“I have not forgotten.”
Just then, he threw her back until she hit the wall beside Stephanie.
I looked at Stephanie and despite all she'd just seen and heard, she was still seated quietly in her place, mouth shut and eyes streaming tears nonstop.
“I will torture you until I'm satisfied.” Harvey's voice was directed at Andrea. “And then, I'll kill your precious brother, Alexander.”
Andrea shook like an electrified person.
“No!!! You will not touch even a hair on his head!!” She screamed.
My eyes widened as they flickered to Stephanie.
A string of blood flowed out of her bottom lip. She was biting it too hard.
“But before that, I'll torture them both, Alex and Steve. I'll bring Nicole right back to me, where she's always belonged. I don't care if she's married. She'll ask for my forgiveness and I'll make her feel the torment of betraying me. Yes, I'll make her love me more even as I torment her because I know she loves that. She likes it.” He stopped and let out a laugh like a mad person for some seconds.
“And then after all that,” He finally stopped his insane laughter and looked towards me. “I will shoot Alex a total of seven shots.”
My heart almost stopped beating.
“One will grind through his leg.” He smiled sweetly as he pulled his gun out. “And another will be in his right hand since it's his main one.”
He talked and laughed like someone having the most perfect daydream.
“Third, oh, let me think!” He placed his fingers on his chin in a mock attempt at thinking. “Yes! The stomach! It'd be interesting to see him choke in his blood.”
Tears rolled down my face.
“The fourth.....hmmm, perhaps, the shoulders or, the neck.” His grin spread further. I suddenly felt like puking.
“The fifth....oh my, his head.” He laughed. “It'd be very interesting to see those blue eyes go lifeless like the dead ocean.”
“I beg you...” I muttered, tears slipping into my open lips. “Stop talking....” I couldn't help the painful images coming into my mind.
He ignored me and continued.
“For the sixth and the seventh,” He threw his gun in the air in a carefree manner. “I want them both to rip through his chest and into his heart. I don't want to hear that heartbeat anymore.”
And again, he laughed madly, hysterically.
“I want to kill him. I want the death of Alexander Hayes to shake the whole business world just like my downfall years ago did.”
I just couldn't hold it in any longer.
I wobbled and everything went black as I slowly fainted into nothingness.
******
Shifting uncomfortably, I slowly flipped my eyes open.
I was facing upwards and it took me a moment to notice the pair of eyes looking down at me with concern.
“Andrea?” I breathed. “What happened?” My head was currently lying on her lap.
“You fainted after you heard everything that the bastard said he was going to do to my brother. I guess it was too much for you. I'm sorry you had to be dragged into our family issues.”
I moved slowly up.
“W-wasn't it too much for you?”
She lowered her head, her expression hidden.
“I know how much of a bastard he is, Sophia. I know how dangerous Harvey is. We've been expecting him to seek revenge for years because we knew he was that kind of person but we still tolerated him because his mum remained a nice family friend. Never in a million years could I have imagined that he'd do something like this!” She groaned with tears of regret.
I turned to Stephanie. Why isn't she saying anything?
