Alex's POV.
Ever since the kiss with my secretary, I made up any and every excuse to avoid her. She's slowly but surely tearing down my well-built defenses.
With Steve absent from work today, it was paramount that I come into the office as I had a very important meeting to attend.
Stepping out of the elevator, I began walking straight to the office but before then, I stopped to inform my secretary of the upcoming meeting only to find her lost in thoughts.
What could be occupying her mind? Work? A boyfriend?
I was surprised at the pang of jealousy I felt from the latter.
“Miss O'Brien?” I called, standing in front of her desk.
The way she nearly jumped out of her chair confirmed my belief that she was somewhere else in thought.
Ignoring her, I continued. “I need you to arrange for a meeting which will be held in the conference room at 11 am prompt. Also, Steve will be sending in someone to collect the files to bring in the shipment”.
I already strolled off when I heard her mutter a weak “Okay, sir”.

Sophia's POV.
Currently, it was a few minutes to 11 am. I hurried my steps as I headed straight towards the room where the meeting was being held.
There was no one else in the room as I got in exactly five minutes early.
I kept a small bottle of water on each table and quickly examined everything.
I didn't want to mess up anything or do something to make Mr Hayes angry.
After making sure that everything was in place, I took out my pen, journal and laptop.
Just as I placed it on my desk, the door flew open and Mr Hayes entered the room with his don't mess with me aura.
His eyes landed on me and I could see the color of his eyes go a shade darker. I know that look. Or is it my imagination?
I was dressed in a lime green blouse and black pencil skirt with black matching heels, an outfit that Stephanie carefully picked out for me that morning.
All in all, I looked professional with nothing too revealing or lustful.
But the look my boss is giving me right now still manages to put me off. I was becoming nervous.
Thankfully, a minute or two later, five men entered the room. Two of them looked to be in their forties and the other two in their late thirties.
But the youngest of them was a guy who looked not more than twenty-three. He has black hair, black eyes and a muscular body. Not as muscular as Mr.Hayes but appreciably muscular.
The way all of them were looking at me, made me feel like I should bury myself six feet under. Mr. Hayes cleared his throat and I don't know why, but he seemed angry.
The young guy was coming towards me to introduce himself I guess but he didn't get the chance as Mr. Hayes told everyone to take their seats.
But before starting the meeting, he said “Welcome everyone. I'd like to introduce you to my new secretary, Sophia O'Brien”.
And with that, the meeting commenced. I could feel his burning gaze on me the entire time but I ignored it.
The meeting lasted for about an hour and a half and I made sure to record all the important details, trying not to squirm under his intense gaze.
After the meeting, the young guy whose name I got to know as Mr.George came up to me and spoke…
“Hello”
“Hi,” I responded.
“I didn't get a chance to properly introduce myself. I am Pete George”. He stated.
We shook hands just then and I was taken aback when he placed a kiss on the back of my hand.
So old-fashioned. I scoffed quietly.
“Sophia O'Brien, Mr. Hayes’s secretary” I know he already knew that but it's only proper I introduced myself again.
He smiled at me and I smiled back. Before he could say anything else, Mr. Hayes's voice boomed through the room.
“Alright everyone, the meeting is over. You all may now leave. Thank you.” The voice held so much power and within the next fifteen seconds, the room was vacant leaving me alone with Mr.Hayes.
“Come to my office now!” He spoke angrily and left the room. My feet were rooted to the ground, wondering what I did wrong.
After standing for about two minutes, I hurried out of the room.
The walk to Mr. Hayes' office was quite scary. To say that I was nervous would be an understatement. He makes me nervous in every way, even with his stare.
After taking a deep breath, I placed a gentle knock on his door. He mumbled a quiet ‘come in’ and I opened the door.
Surprisingly, he wasn't seated in his usual chair and he was nowhere to be seen.
I decided to wait by his desk but just as I reached the desk, I felt a presence behind me. He was standing too close, I could feel the heat igniting through his body.
I turned around and met with the familiar blue orbs and regretted my decisions instantly. His eyes were so captivating and I found it hard not to get lost in them.
“C—can you m—over a little?” I stuttered as he smirked and came even closer.
Why do I have to be stuck between him and this desk?!
“Why? Am I making you nervous?” he whispered.
“No” I lied. Of course, he makes me nervous...his eyes have the power to hold a person in place and that's what his eyes were doing to me.
“Really?” He asked, putting his hand on my waist and pulling me closer.
On instinct, I put my hands on his chest. I didn't like the way my body was responding to his touches.
T—this is u—unprofessional” I choked out.
He brought his face closer, so close that I could feel his breath on my lips. My lips parted accordingly in shock.
“Oh is it?” He said mockingly.
What have I gotten myself into? I muttered under my breath.

Alex's POV.
How dare that son of a bitch try to flirt with my secretary?
Just because his father is the owner of a multi-billion dollar company doesn't mean he can come here and try to flirt with any of my employees, especially not my secretary!
The intense anger I felt was like a punch to my guts.
I felt this intense but strange desire for her to be just mine and mine only.
Now, with her body so close to mine, I knew I needed to let go before I did something unprofessional, just like she said.
“You're right,” I agreed, untangling my hands from her waist.
She hurriedly put as much distance as she could between us which was just as right because I needed to be far away from her too.
I proceeded to sit on my chair behind the desk when she cleared her throat to speak.
“Excuse me, sir, would you need anything else? I would like to leave early to prepare for Mary's send-forth event”.
Oh, that? I was given an invite out of courtesy I'm sure.
I knew the staff didn't want me to attend, not like I was going to anyway.
Mary had been a good secretary to me, one who was dedicated to her job and I wish her well in the future but I got better things to do on a Friday evening than attend a boring office party.
“Yes, you can go,” I said, dismissing her.

Sophia's POV.
“What?” Stephanie gasped after I told her how inappropriately my boss acted with me earlier in the day.
I looked down at my hands in slight mortification. I haven't felt this weak in a long time. Alexander Hayes has made me feel so powerless against him.
“I am going to teach that manwhore some manners”.
