CHAPTER 30

One of the royal guards rushed to Alpha Dante the moment he alighted from his car. He shut the door and dipped the car key into his pocket. "Why are you panting?" his brows arched, gazing at the guard still.

"Your Majesty, the maids seem to be fighting. The palace has been in a roar for about an hour now." the guard narrated and lifted his head. "When I inquired what was going on, I was told that Mistress Evelyn had sneaked into the baby's room and poisoned the meal…. but unfortunately, she was caught by the new servant, Susan who had beaten her to a pulp."

Unexpectedly, Alpha burst into laughter. Now, he can tell why Lena wanted Susan inside the palace as one of her servants.

He walked past the guard and entered the palace building, his palms dipped into his pockets. "Evelyn has always been cautious, but this time, she was reckless because her cup was full and was overflowing. I've had enough of them here…" he pondered as he walked straight into the hallway that connected the rooms.

"She isn't scared of dying, or her first trick won't be on the baby…." She heard Susan's voice and shook his head. "If I was the Alpha King, I would behead you for trying shit on my son…now I see why Lena escaped because she knew you all wouldn't let her enjoy her motherhood."

At the mention of Lena's name, he halted-his eyes shut. He had yet to hear from the guards he had sent out to fetch her, and it was making him feel horrible for being the first Alpha King that discarded the woman that had begot his heir.

Even the Mafias keep their surrogates as nannies, and that was his plan…. but Lena was too fast to escape out of the palace just because he cautioned her to leave without his notice.

Slowly, he resumed his walk until he reached Lena's doorpost. He held the doorknob but had issues opening it.

"I don't want to see that child without his mother…." he stepped back a bit. "Odessa!!!" he called out, and the lady rushed out of the room and bowed to him, followed by the others. His face chiseled. "Is the baby okay?"

Odessa nodded with a smile. "He's strong and sound. Alpha, have you found her?"

He didn't respond to that. Were they supposed to look more pitiful than him?

"You can come in and carry the baby for some time. I'm sure he needs his father…." Susan added, clutching her palms to her gown.

He shook his head. "It's of no need, just take care of him…" he turned to leave but recalled that he had yet to talk about the major reason he came straight to their room. "Where is Evelyn? I learned of her offense….."

"Yes! That shameless she-wolf got on my nerves. The guts to sneak into the room at first…." Susan retorted, scowling. "Your Majesty, she attempted treason and should be punished with torture so in her next life she will be righteous…."

Odessa and Eowyn chuckled.

Susan glanced at Odessa. She is yet to believe that she is now a servant with her worst enemy when they were still in the Celestial Pack. It's all thanks to Lena, or she would have been in the slave yard, and having to reconcile with Odessa was like a burden lifted from her shoulder.

"I'll handle it from here…" Alpha signaled the guards at his back, and they came forth. "Arrest Evelyn! Throw her into the dungeon!!" He commanded and then faced Lena's servants. "No servant except you three are allowed in that room, so make sure to look after the child, because if he's harmed, neither of you will go unscathed."

They bowed to him in response before he turned and left.

The moment he stepped into his room, the first scent that hit his nose was Lena. He marveled, glancing around.

"Are you hidden somewhere here? Just show up and ease my worries….." he muttered, searching the whole room. "Lena!!!" he called out, but everywhere was quiet. "If you are hiding, why not show up? I won't execute you…. I just….."

'Shut it! You're distracting me!' his wolf slammed at him angrily. 'You told her to leave, and now you're claiming to be nice. Didn't I warn you not to kick away my mate?'

He dropped his jacket on the bed and transfixed his palms on his waist. "I didn't mean those words. You know so well…."

'I'm trying to connect with her wolf, but it seems she's already out of this pack.' his wolf uttered.

He furrowed his brows. "Out of this pack? Didn't they meet up to close the border?"

'Do you know how long she left before you made that command? Just keep it down!'

He shook his head. "This won't do!" he picked up his cell phone and began going through his contacts. "I'll reach out to a few bounty hunters to go after her outside the pack. That way, she will be found so easily." he found one of the contacts and clicked the dial button.

Bianca stood before the mirror, taking a good look at herself and grinning. She was more than happy that Lena was yet to be found, which means the rogues would be able to get the work done.

Second, hearing that Evelyn was thrown into the dungeon-he never expected Alpha to ever think of such punishment, but she's more than glad.

"She has no power over me like she thought. Let's see who will die first." she turned to meet the maids, all smiling at her. "I'll just poison her in there. No one will suspect me at all." she clapped her hands, laughing out loud.

Taking gentle steps to the sofa, she got seated and grabbed the bottled water on the center table. "She killed herself by attempting her futile plans on the heir that won't be joked with after seeing all those armies standing in that room." she sipped from the bottle and placed it back. "With the same arrow, I will catch two birds at a time. Get rid of Lena and Evelyn, then have peace of mind even if I will later leave the palace." She licked her lips and turned to the maids.

Signaling them, they came closer to her and squatted.

"I will leave the palace tonight disguised as a maid, so get ready…" she said to them, and they nodded.
