Chapter 110

Chapter 110
Ivan's POV

I watched helplessly as Chloe was hurled into the air, her body tumbling through space.

Below, that massive carnivorous flower opened its blood-red maw, the black vortex at its center still littered with severed limbs and flesh.

My heart skipped a beat.

No—

Then a blinding golden light exploded from Chloe's body.

The brilliance was so intense I had to squint.

When the light dimmed slightly, I saw it—a wolf.

More precisely, a wolf suspended in midair.

Her fur was deep brown, gleaming with an amber luster. Her limbs were long and elegant, her tail bushy. Most stunning were her eyes—as if they contained all the wildness and defiance of Thunder Canyon itself.

She's awakened her wolf!

Zeus whispered in my mind, his voice tinged with awe.

The brown she-wolf adjusted her posture gracefully in the air. Her movements were impossibly fluid, as if gravity had no hold on her. The carnivorous flower's petals had already closed, ready to devour its prey, but the she-wolf simply twisted her body lightly, drifting aside like a feather.

With astonishing aerial control, she completely reversed her fate of falling into the flower's maw.

The moment she landed, all four paws touched the ground softly, making no sound at all.

The entire sequence was as elegant as a dance.

I stared at her, stunned.

She's beautiful, Zeus said.

Yes.

She was breathtakingly beautiful. A truly gorgeous brown wolf.

The she-wolf stood there, head held high, golden eyes sweeping across the battlefield.

Every movement radiated a primal power and nobility—the pride inherent to Alpha blood.

Then she turned her head.

Our eyes met.

In that instant, the world seemed to stop.

I looked into her golden eyes, my heart pounding wildly in my chest.

Mate, Zeus's voice was low and certain. That is our mate.

I knew! God, of course I knew. Her pupils, her fur, her scent—everything about her told me this was the one I'd been searching for.

Chloe's wolf seemed to sense it too.

She gazed at me, her golden eyes flashing with confusion, then shock, and finally a deep recognition.

She recognized me as her mate!

We stood there, locked in each other's gaze, as if the entire world had vanished, leaving only us.

But the battle raged on. We turned simultaneously toward our enemies—the witch hovering in midair and that massive carnivorous flower.

Lightning repositioned itself between us, thunder roaring furiously from its maw.

Behind us, Connor and Derek began organizing an effective counterattack, pushing back wave after wave of thorn assaults.

I struggled to my feet. The wound was still bleeding, but I didn't care anymore.

Let's go! I said to Zeus in my mind.

Let's go! Zeus responded.

The three of us moved as one, charging toward Morena.

Zeus attacked first, claws tearing at the thorns erupting from the ground. Lightning followed, releasing bolt after bolt at the witch.

Chloe flanked from the side, her movements swift and precise, each leap perfectly timed to dodge the lashing thorns.

"Ha!" Morena's mocking laugh rang out. "You think you can defeat me?"

The magical light in her hands flared violently, her assault growing more ferocious.

Purple waves of energy surged like a tsunami, denser and more savage than before.

Frank's POV

The detention zone was unusually quiet today.

I stood on the empty street, the silence oppressive. All the guards were gone—not slacking off, not on rotation, but completely evacuated.

About an hour ago, an urgent order had come through, demanding everyone head immediately toward Thunder Canyon.

Thunder Canyon?

My heart sank.

Ivan and Chloe had gone there today.

I closed the fighting gym, locked the door, and ran alone toward the canyon. Along the way, I saw many wolves running in the same direction, anxiety and worry etched on their faces.

When I finally reached the canyon's perimeter, the sight made me gasp.

The entire Lightning Wolf Pack's warrior force was here—Alpha Tyler, the Beta, the Gamma, and countless armed fighters.

They surrounded the canyon's edge, their faces grave and uneasy.

I pushed through the crowd and looked toward the distance.

The entire Thunder Canyon was shrouded beneath a massive magical barrier. The barrier glowed with an eerie purple light, like an inverted bowl sealing off the entire canyon. Combined with thick thunderclouds blocking out the sky, it was impossible to see what was happening inside.

"Alpha, please!" A woman's wail cut through the air.

I turned to see several wolf parents kneeling before Tyler, tears streaming down their faces.

"I felt it!" a mother cried out, her voice agonized. "I felt my child… he's dead! He's dead!"

"Please, tell us what's happening in there!" another father begged.

Alpha Tyler's face was ashen. He opened his mouth but couldn't speak. He had no idea how to answer these parents either.

"Elders!" He turned to several white-haired old men beside him, his voice strained. "Do something! Figure out a way to break this damned barrier!"

The elders gathered at the barrier's edge, their staffs glowing faintly. They tried to breach the shield, but the purple light didn't budge—if anything, it seemed to hum mockingly.

I stared at the thunderclouds roiling inside the canyon, a powerful unease rising in my chest.

Ivan, Chloe, are you in there?

Are you still alive?
