Chapter 84 Sick

Chapter 84 Sick
As we're pulling up to the villa, I'm already shivering like crazy despite having the heater in the car on. The rain still hasn't stopped outside as the car turns into a full stop. I stare at Dante as he steps out of the car with his umbrella. While Antonio gets out from the other side of the car, Dante opens the door for me and walks me towards the villa.

"You should take a hot shower now. Your lips are already blue from the cold," Dante says.

"Okay," I say.

"I'll get the kitchen to prepare something warm for you," Antonio says. He himself looks pale from staying in his wet clothes for too long. I can even see him shivering a little as he walks away from Dante and me. I hope he won't get sick after this. We just celebrated his birthday. He should be having fun, not getting sick after watching the sunset.

In the bathroom, I quickly take off my dress. The way it sticks to my skin makes me grimace in disgust. I hang it over the bathtub and jump into the shower. A sigh escapes me as I feel the warm water raining over me. I stand there, letting the water warm me up from head to toe. After I feel warm enough, I begin washing my hair and lathering my body with soap, cleaning myself off the rainwater and sand.

With my hair and body wrapped in towels, I walk out of the steaming bathroom. Not wanting something like earlier to happen, I quickly put on a new set of clothes. The tickling in my nose makes me let out a sneeze. It continues to happen a few more times. The feeling is still there, but I can't let the sneeze out anymore. I let out a sigh, feeling a headache creeping in.

Yeah. I'm definitely getting sick. Ugh. This is annoying, but hey, at least I'll have Dante to take care of me when we're back home.

A knock on the door wakes me up from my daze. I clear my throat and shout out, "Come in," to whoever is outside. The door opens, and I immediately see Antonio. He's already dressed in new, dry clothes, but his hair is still wet. He looks better than earlier. The warmth has come back to his face. Different from me, he seems fine and healthy. Well, I guess I'm the only one who gets sick from the rain now.

"Here's some soup to warm you up. Eat up," Antonio says, putting the bowl on the nightstand. I walk up to him and look into the bowl. It's a soup. The steam coming from the bowl tells me the soup is still scorching hot. I'll eat it in a few minutes. I don't want to burn my tongue. If I did, then I would have two problems: a cold and a burnt tongue. I'd rather not add more health problems to myself now.

"Thank you," I say.

"You know what? Let me help you with it," Antonio says, sitting on the bed.

Is he going to feed me? That immediately reminds me of when Dante did the same when I was sick. Gosh. Everything with Antonio keeps reminding me of Dante. I'd want Dante to do it instead, but it'll be inappropriate. So, I'd better off eating it myself.

"You don't have to," I say.

"It's okay. Come, sit down with me," Antonio says, patting the space next to him. I smile at him and sit next to him. Well, I don't think I can refuse now. I want to be on Antonio's good side, so I'll do what he wants. It's harmless to let him feed me.

Antonio blows the soup on the spoon, attempting to cool it down a bit. He then moves the spoon towards me, and I open my mouth to take it. He keeps doing the same thing until there's nothing left in the bowl. As Antonio said earlier, the soup does make me feel warmer now.

"Do you want to eat anything else?" Antonio asks.

"No. The soup's enough," I say.

"Are you sure?" Antonio asks.

"Yeah," I say. The discomfort in my nose makes me sneeze again. I sigh and sniffle, rubbing my itchy nose. Antonio puts his hand on my forehead and then frowns. From his looks only, he seems to be worried about my health. Honestly, I don't even feel that sick, but I hate how I want to sneeze most of the time.

"You're a bit warm. You should take medicine," Antonio says. He looks through the nightstand drawer and pulls out a box. There are different medicines in the box. He goes through everything, then takes out a bottle and immediately gives it to me. I look at the bottle, and it's just an ibuprofen.

"Here. I'll get some water for you," Antonio says.

Before long, Antonio comes back from the bathroom with a glass of water. He sits next to me and hands the glass to me. I gulp down the water with the medicine already in my mouth. Once I'm finished, I put the glass on the nightstand and turn to Antonio.

"I shouldn't have brought you to the beach," Antonio says with a frown. His regret is shown clearly on his face.

Aww, now he's feeling guilty. It's not even his fault, so why should he feel bad? The weather was being an asshole by pulling that stunt on us earlier. There wasn't even a grey cloud in sight when we were taking pictures. The rain just suddenly poured over us like what happened to Dante and me at the resort.

"It's not your fault. The weather has been unpredictable lately. It happened to me the other day," I say, remembering what happened to Dante and me a few days ago.

"Really? When?" Antonio asks.

"The day I arrived at the hotel. Before we met at the restaurant," I say.

"You were outside when that rain happened? It was a big one," Antonio says.

"Yeah. I was watching the sea by the cliff, and then the rain came out of nowhere," I say.

I remember that day clearly. Well, it only happened a few days ago, so the memory is still quite fresh in my mind. Despite the predicament we were in, it was so much fun running through the rain with my hand intertwined with Dante's. It was the happiest I've been in a while. Well, I always feel my best when I'm with Dante. So, as long as he's around, I'll always be happy. He's the best thing I have in my life after my brothers and mother are gone.

"Too bad it happened again today and got you sick," Antonio says, frowning as he pushes my hair out of my face. I smile at him and shrug.

"Yeah, but I'm sure I'll be fine by tomorrow," I say.

"Alright. Get some rest now, okay?" Antonio says, kissing my forehead before standing up from the bed. I frown, not wanting him to leave just yet.

"Well, since it's our last night together, will you stay with me for a bit longer?" I ask.

Why the fuck did I ask him that? Why do I even want him to stay? I shouldn't be doing this. Spending too much time together with Antonio will only make me more attached to him, and I can't let that happen. But at the same time, I really want him to stay despite the screaming in my mind that tells me no and reminds me of Dante. Maybe if he stays a bit longer, I can make him say what he wants to say before. Yeah. I can let him stay for a bit. Let's try it out.

"If that's what you want, sure," Antonio says. His smile tells me that he's excited to spend the night with me. Good. Now I need to make my plan work. How?

"What if we watch a movie before we sleep?" I ask.

"Sure. Your call. Let's watch whatever you want to watch," Antonio says.

Alright. Now's my time to follow through with my plan, and this better work. If not, my father will underestimate me again and treat me like a child. I'd hate that to happen, so Antonio had better fess up tonight. He talked a lot about his family stuff earlier, so it should be easy to make him say what his family is truly up to with my family.
