CHAPTER 53 — FAINA PETROV
But before the aircraft can take flight, a car comes to us skidding down the dirt road and shots are fired at us.
Damn, it couldn't have been my parents' or my godfather's men… I was sure I would have more time to get out of here with them, before they came after us.
As soon as I look out the window, I see those responsible for the shooting getting out of the car, Heros, Noah, and Zed. Shit! The first one won't hesitate to shoot me, after all.
It's true that I didn't expect to see them happy and smiling upon my return, nor that they would run to hug me with kisses and everything, but I would like them to at least listen to me first. Okay, I lied; Who would believe a liar? But I'm carrying their children.
— Heros, car… — Lohan tries to intervene when getting off the helicopter.
Me and Luther
— Shut up, Lohan! — your eyes are fixed on me — Tell me one reason why I shouldn't shoot you now.
— Her being pregnant is one of the reasons enough. — Luther, who was behind me, comes in front of me.
— Yeah… I got it. But she told a lie when she said she wasn't pregnant. — he cocks the gun.
— Look, you know what? Screw this! You want to shoot me, shoot! Shoot Heros! — I pass Luther, stopping in front of him, placing my forehead against the barrel of his gun. Now if you're not going to shoot me, love, honor what you have between your legs and let's go, we've already wasted a lot of time here.
Boris appears behind him, nose bleeding with his gun pointed at the back of Heros' head.
— Dare to shoot kids and this will turn into a bloodbath — he says to Heros, the others looking at the youngest of them, apprehensive.
I turn my back on them and return to the aircraft, happy because it is an Eurocopter AS350: with capacity for up to 5 passengers in addition to the pilot. I don't wait long for them when I turn on my baby.
Almost twenty hours of flying and an hour of driving, and I finally got home. I returned to the place I never intended to leave.
— Can I sit down and eat something first? My feet are killing me. — I ask as soon as I walk through the front door.
— No! — Heros looks at me seriously again as he points his gun in my direction once more. — You won't take a step from where you are until you tell us everything.
Boris immediately disarms him. I'm glad he finally decided to accompany me to New York. At least the Heros show had a purpose. Boris doesn't trust him and doesn't want to leave me alone with him, especially with so much hate in his eyes.
I let out a long sigh, bending down, removing my pumps and leaving them in the corner near the couch. I can already tell it's going to be a long night, so despite his warning, I started to climb the stairs to one of the bedrooms, not being afraid of him.
— I'm expecting triplets and yesterday I celebrated my twenty-first birthday. The day and night have been exhausting while trying to save you, and now I feel exhausted and hungry. — I rub my face tiredly — I don't know if I should eat, take a shower or just throw myself in bed! So, my love, feel free to continue your drama alone, for I will rise! — I leave everyone in the living room speechless and head to the bedroom.
As exhausted as I am, I can't sleep without them. So after I take a bath for a few hours, I come down wearing one of Heros' outfits, just to annoy him a little more.
The five of them accompany me as I head to the refrigerator, finding nothing to satisfy my hunger. Just them, but I don't think sex will be an option for now.
Boris, according to Noah, went up to bed right after I went.
Hmm… a gigantic pizza, half pepperoni and four cheeses would go very well right now. As well as a strawberry pie with syrup running down it would be delicious. I run my tongue over my lips with my eyes closed, already feeling the taste in my mouth and I end up moaning.
— Are you groaning, looking into the fridge? — Noah asks me, his voice sounding laughing.
— I could be moaning while licking something else, but you wouldn't give in easily, so… — I turn to them, who are standing with their arms crossed, staring at me. Heros, you still have the gun in your hand even though it's not pointed at me, your jaw is rigid, just like Luther's — Zedekiah, do you still have the number of that pizzeria that sells sweet pies, too? Hm… there's KFC, I don't know if they still deliver.
—Stop! You're just stringing us along. — a vein pops out of Luther's forehead — Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Who are you?
Argh!
Before I can say anything, my stomach growls loudly.
— I said I was hungry! Today I turned twenty-one and I couldn't even eat anything from my party, my mouth was just watering. — I look for my cell phone, until I remember that I left it in Russia so as not to be tracked. I look at them — Can one of you make the damn order for me? Or are they really going to leave their babies and their mothers hungry?
— Who guarantees us that these “babies” are ours? They could be your dead husband's. — Luther. Everyone's eyes widened.
— Husband? Dead? — Zedekiah sits down — Are you married?
My stomach growls again.
— What the hell. There's nothing in this fridge for me to eat. — I approach Heros, quickly disarming him and unlocking the gun, releasing all the bullets on the ground. I do the same with the others that are hidden in the kitchen. After they are all thrown on the counter and the bullets are on the floor, I go back to the wall of muscles in front of me and put my hand in his pocket, he tries to hold my wrist, but I twist his first and take his cell phone.
As if he were actually trying. I roll my eyes.
Unlocking the screen of your device, I search for the name of the restaurant and place an order via message, the attendant tells me that it will be delivered in approximately forty minutes to an hour, which will be an eternity for a hungry pregnant woman. But when I confirm the address to her, my order becomes a priority, the time changes to a maximum of thirty minutes or less.
A record.
Smiling, I leave my cell phone on the counter and sit down, having five pairs of eyes drying me.
— You better sit down, the conversation will be long. — they remain in the same place, sighing, I shrug — I'll summarize then, as soon as I can, it's time for my food to arrive. My name is Faina Petrov — I don't need to say whose daughter I am, they know my father very well and who works alongside him as his right hand, the one they were after, as soon as we met.
O Pakhan.
— Are you fucking kidding me? — Luther starts pacing back and forth — Daughter of Pyotr Petrov.
Ignoring him, I continue:
— Andrey Rurik, a Dostoevsky, was my fiancé arranged by my father and my godfather from the time I was still in my mother's womb. They believed that this union would be an excellent alliance, as together we would inherit the power of the mafia one day.
— Not your fiancé. Your husband, since he has a ring on his finger. — Heros points to it.
— I didn't really marry him. Neither he nor our families knew that it was a fake marriage. I had help from my mother and Boris.
—And you really expect us to believe someone who has already lied and deceived us, right? — Noah questions me.
— Is that a compliment? — I laugh, a little surprised — I thought you were better than that, honestly. An eighteen-year-old girl managed to break into your house and discover all your secrets. Every load of drugs, weapons, and all his business. I got to know each person’s quirks, ups, and downs. The hiding place for all your weapons. In just one month, I managed to figure everything out.
— And why did you decide to stay, Faina? You could have attacked anyone here and actually run away instead of making all those deceptive attempts, right? — Heros says, with his jaw clenched, arms crossed and the veins in his muscles bulging.
— I fell in love. And it only took a month for this to happen. I wanted to extend my mission as long as possible, just to have some more time with you.
