Chapter 182 Chapter One Hundred and Eighty-Two
Erin blushes. "Okay. We can have a private lesson. For every question you get right, I will give you a kiss." She whispers, giving me a flirty smile.

"Damn, I will make sure I pay very good attention to you then."

"You better." She says, leaning in to kiss my cheek. "Now, we better get to our next class before we are late."

"Okay." I say, picking her backpack up. "Let's go."

"I can carry my own backpack." She says, smiling.

I turn her towards the door and lean in to whisper. "I know you can baby, but you don't have to. Now, let's go before you make us late." I say teasingly, smacking her on the ass.

She looks back at me with wide eyes and her mouth slightly open. "Did you just smack my ass?" She asks, giggling a little.

"Yes, I did and I will do it again if you don't start walking to our next class."

"Yes sir." She says, in a flirty voice.

I hold her hand as we walk through the hall to our next class. Everyone stares and whispers not so quietly to each other. "Are they like together now?" One girl asks another girl. "I don't know, but if they are I wonder how her brother feels about it?" The other girl answers.

"Do you think they are sleeping together?" One of the guys on the basketball team asks another guy from the team.

"You would have to be a heartless slut to go behind your brother's back and date his best friend." One of the girls from the cheer team says to another girl.

Everyone that sees the two of us together has something different to say. Everything basically amounts to me being an asshole and Erin being a slut. Which is not true. She didn't do anything wrong. I feel Erin tense up beside me. The more things people say about us, the more tense she gets. I hate that I can't make them stop for her. I don't like everyone talking about her. I don't want her feeling like everyone is watching her.

I'm used to people talking about me. When I was with Sapphire, I heard all kinds of crazy shit said about me and her. Most of that crap was rumors she started herself though I'm sure. She loved to be the center of attention, still does. Now that I think about it, I didn't see her in first period. Is she not here today? I hope she isn't here and doesn't show up today. Hearing whatever stupid crap she has to say is the last thing Erin needs today.

"Are you okay?" I ask, when we are almost to our next class.

Erin nods her head. "Yeah. I knew people were going to talk about us. I just didn't realize so many people would have something to say about it. I dont understand why they can't just mind their own business."

"I don't know, but if they were minding their own business, then it wouldn't be highschool." I say, smiling at her.

Erin nods her head. "Yeah. You are definitely right about that." She says,

I stop walking and grab her arm to stop her. She turns to look at me and I cup her cheek. "If you need to get out of here, we can skip the rest of the day. We can go back home or we can go to my place. Maybe go watch a movie or something."

Erin smiles up at me. "That sounds amazing, but it's not going to get any easier. So, we might as well just stay and get through it." She says. "Thank you for offering though."

"You don't have to thank me baby. I would do anything to make you feel better. Just let me know if you change your mind." I say, leaning down to give her a quick peck on the lips.

"I will let you know if I change my mind." She says. "I think I will be okay though. As long as I have you with me it doesn't matter what anyone says."

"You will always have me." I say, smiling. "Plus, you have Cory and Levi."

"That's more friends than I ever thought I would have. So, I think I am doing pretty good." She says, laughing a little.

"Maybe we can find you some chick friends next. I don't think I can handle you having many more guy friends." I say, half joking, half serious.

Erin laughs, shaking her head. "Don't worry, I will never do anything with any of my guy friends. I promise you can trust me."

"I do trust you, but you are sexy as hell. I don't trust your guy friends to keep their hands to themselves."

"They are your guy friends too." She says. I can tell she is enjoying this way to much.

"Exactly. That is how I know I can't trust them." I say in a joking manner, but I am being very serious.

Erin reaches out and rubs my cheek. "Then you will just have to trust me enough for everyone."

"I can do that." I say, as I lean down and give her another kiss.

One of the girls from the cheer team scoffs as she walks past us, mumbling something under her breath. Erin looks up at me. "Just ignore them." I say, taking her hand and heading to our class. We get in there right before the second bell rings. "You almost made us late." I say, teasing her.

Erin smacks my chest, laughing. "I did no such thing." She whispers, as we take our seats.

Class drags by extremely slowly. It doesn't help that everyone keeps whispering about us. Mostly saying things about poor Evan. How could we do that to Evan? Evan deserves a better friend and sister. Evan is the nicest guy in the world, how did he end up with such shitty people in his life? I have to bite my tongue to keep from yelling at the stupid fuckers.

Yes, we hurt Evan. He is the one making all of this harder than it has to be though. We didn't ask him to be such an asshole about all of this. If he didn't make such a big deal about everyone going after his sister, then none of this would have happened in the first place. I would have been with her a long time ago. If she wanted to be with me, that is and I would have known sooner that she liked me. I never would have been with Sapphire. Then Erin and Christian would still be friends, because they never would have dated. All of this comes back to him being overly protective of her. So, it isn't just our faults.
