Chapter 390 ALL HAIL THE KING AND QUEEN

Chapter 390 ALL HAIL THE KING AND QUEEN
SERAPHINA’S POV

The doors to the throne room on the west side of the castle finally pull open, revealing Artemis and me to the entire congregation gathered to celebrate our crowning and witness the beginning of a new era of peace.

Our hands are intertwined, our traditional garments matching, with long flowing capes that trail a few feet behind us. A wave of anxiety and excitement hits all at once, but I know I’m not alone.

Never again.

The congregation stands, applauding endlessly as we walk down the aisle, side by side, hand in hand, waving at all of them.

I spot Olivia and Jasper, hand in hand, seeing them for the first time in three years, waving harder and growing excited to tell them all about my tales.

Ace and Gabe sit in the next row, clapping along with the crowd, smiles on their faces as well. Of course, Alice is nowhere to be seen. It’s been years, and she has never shown her face to me again.

Olivia had said that she moved to a different country, one that’s far away from here - far away from all the dark memories tied to this place. Maybe one day we’d meet again.

I remember Juliet too - and I die inwards wishing she was here.

And then Kamila...

I try not to associate her with the dark days, with everything she had done against me.

I try to remember her for her mischievous smiles, the impressive quips and comebacks she always had, the fact that she was supposed to be valedictorian.

I try to remember her as the girl who survived an abusive father like Gideon.

Rest in peace, Kamila.

Despite everything, I still hope she finds that.

As for Lucian, he left the pack once Artemis was made the unofficial Alpha King. I still wish I’d seen him one more time before he disappeared, at least just to spit in his disgusting face.

Wherever he is right now, I surely hope he suffers at the hands of karma.

We finally make it to the throne stand, climbing to the elevated ground where the priest offers blessings to us from the moon goddess, placing a crown on both our heads afterward.

"I present to you... their royal Majesties, King Artemis Donovan Sinclair and Queen Seraphina Sinclair."

Both of us stand upright, facing our people together.

The crowd goes wild this time, cheering and whistling mixed in with their applause.

I chuckle once I spot Olivia screaming a bit too hard amongst them, knowing she’ll lose her voice later, and Jasper climbing his chair so he gets to stand out.

I laugh until I feel tears brimming in my eyes.

Wow.

This is really happening.

We’re really here.

‘And you deserve it,’ Grendaline’s familiar voice whispers from somewhere in my mind.

Over the last three years, she has been my guide—teaching me everything she knew, assisting me in healing and recovering from all the emotional damage.

Her presence in the mortal world has diminished compared to before.

Initially, her restless soul remained bound to this place out of a thirst for vengeance. Through my time with her, I've discovered her to be a devoted mother, perhaps overly protective, and a strict teacher.

Yet, I cherish her all the more for it.

She has found her peace now, and knowing this brings me great comfort.

"Are you happy, my love?" Artemis whispers to me.

I turn and face him, realizing he’s been staring at me all this while with loving eyes that make me swoon every time.

His arm wraps around my waist and draws me closer to him roughly, and I feel myself blushing too hard from the sudden PDA.

"Artemis! People are watching us," I whisper harshly towards him, yet he remains unbothered.

"I could care less, Seraphina. Are you happy?" he asks again, urging me to answer.

I let out a breath, deciding to answer him instead.

"Of course I am," I say, blushing harder. "Are you?"

"Now that you’re here, yes."

He pulls me even closer and steals a kiss from my lips right in front of everyone, pulling away with a sly smile on his lips, and I can’t even get angry at it, finding myself falling for this man all over again.

"All hail the King. All hail the Queen!" the crowd begins to chant now.

I summon my magic to the tips of my fingers and throw it into the air above us, and immediately miniature fireworks begin to explode, with a million stars shining around everyone, creating a perfect view of the galaxy hanging above.

They’re all in awe, reaching out to touch it with their hands.

"Someone’s got a few new tricks up her sleeves, I see," Artemis teases me, reaching out to touch a single star that bursts into light.

I smirk in response.

"Yeah, I’ve got more than a few new tricks, darling," I wink his way, and he smiles, fully and wholly contented.

"I can’t wait to see them all.

THE END
