SHE WILL WAKE UP SOON… SHE HAD TO

SHE WILL WAKE UP SOON… SHE HAD TO
Darius

I paced around in front of the healers rooms.

Ayla had been in here for so long, and the nerves, they were killing me. I was sick with worry?

How was she?

This was just some goddamn awful fucking dejavu that I was going through now. Each time, when I had to watch Ayla go into those doors, it was never a good thing.

The way we got here was still just so sudden… I had replayed that moment over and over in my head like fucking terrible nightmare.

Thorne almost stabbed me, and I thought that I was die and then there was Ayla… she looked perfect as they fought.

I could admit, Ayla was strong, even stronger than me and it was not just because she was the Moon Born… it was in her determination and the second she destroyed him, the curse was broken.

Our warriors were able to slay any and all of the rogues in sight, and the few that escaped, they were never going to be able to recuperate, not with their leader gone.

But then Ayla, I could not begin to explain the intense fear that filled my entire being the moment that she closed her eyes.

Her skin was hot, too hot as if she was on fire.

The amount of energy that she used, it must have taken an active toll on her body. But I knew that she was strong.

Ayla was survivor… she had to survive because there were a lot of people who were counting on her to come back.

I could not imagine my life without her.

I needed her, Freddy needed her, and our new baby… they needed her.

I continued pacing impulsively,

Leo was busy whimpering in the back of my mind… he was even more miserable than I was somehow and I was very fucking miserable.

My heart was racing with worry. Ayla had been in there for what felt like an eternity… What was taking so long?

Whenever I thought I knew what fear was, nothing ever seemed to compare to the feeling of knowing that Ayla was in danger.

Romeo approached me, a calm expression on his face. "Darius, man, you need to relax. Ayla's going to be alright, you know she is fucking fighter"

I shook my head, trying to shake off the fear that had gripped me. "You don't understand, Romeo, she was just there and I was right there ready to have her back into my arms again and then she just freaking collapsed."

Romeo placed a hand on my shoulder. "I know…. Trust me I do, but you have to calm down. The healers will take care of her. She'll be up and about in no time."

I nodded, trying to take comfort in his words. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong.

Just then, the healer emerged from the room, a serious expression on her face. Romeo and I immediately snapped to attention.

"How is she?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

From the look on His face, there was already a bad feeling that was eating at me, but I tried to brush it off… maybe I was just being pessimistic.

Yeah, that had to be it and I was fucking panicking for nothing.

The healer hesitated, and my heart sank. "Ayla is in a coma, Alpha Darius. She's stable, but... I am afraid that she is not responding to any of our treatments."

I froze for a second, a dreadful chill washing all over me.

I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. "What the fuck does that even mean?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.

The healer's expression was wary, like he was afraid of my reaction.

Well he should be, because he was the fucking expert here, he was supposed to make sure that she was fine!

"It means that if she doesn't wake up soon, it could be... complicated. For her, and for the baby."

“Fuck!!”

I punched through the nearest wall, making a hole in it.

I felt like the world had come to a standstill. By the goddess… so help me or I was about to lose my mind.

Romeo's eyes widened in shock. "What is wrong with our baby?"

The healer's eyes flicked to me “I am really sorry Alpha” he said.

I stumbled backward, feeling like I was going to collapse. Romeo caught me, holding me up as I struggled to process the news.

I laughed hysterically, like I could barely even control y emotions at this moment. I glared at him “stop fucking apologizing to me like Ayla isn’t going to be ok”

The healer continued speaking, but I couldn't hear anything he had to say.

If I was to pay attention I swear I might even smash his head through the bucking wall.

All I could think about was Ayla, and the baby, and the fact that I might lose them both.

I pulled myself together, determination coursing through my veins. I would not lose Ayla. I would not lose our baby.

"I want to see her," I growled, my voice low and menacing.

“But-”

“Now or so help me…”

I let the silence hang heavy, yeah that would be biter to send my message across very fucking clearly.

The healer nodded, a look of understanding on his face. "I'll take you to her."

Romeo followed me as I stormed into the room, my eyes fixed on Ayla's still form. She looked so peaceful, so beautiful.

It was like nothing was wrong with her, and she was just taking a short nap.

I approached her, taking her hand in mine. It was cold, so cold.

"Ayla, baby, please wake up for me… I need you," I whispered, my voice cracking with emotion.

I would wait, but I knew my Ayla and I knew that she would be ok…

I would be by her side, until she was back into my arms again, well and happy.

I fucking swear it.

I leaned forward, my lips brushing against her ear. "I love you, Ayla. Please come back to me. Please come back to us."

The room was silent, except for the sound of my ragged breathing. I held Ayla's hand, my heart pounding in my chest.

Come on, Ayla. Come on, baby. Wake up.
