Once again I was here.

But the thing was like unlike other times, I no longer felt like a stranger… in fact I felt more at home here, the energy from the moon fed my soul.

This place, no matter how many times that I found myself here, I could never still get over how beautiful this place was.

The flowers were always blooming, the clear springs water flowed so beautiful. The moon goddess abode was really a paradise.

I stood at the edge of the forest, just watching the beauty of the moon hanging low in the sky like a silver crescent.

The air was alive with magic, and I could feel its power coursing through my veins. I closed my eyes, breathing in deeply, and waited.

She appeared so suddenly like a blinding force and her presence was overwhelming, like a wave crashing over me.

"Ayla," she said, with her soft voice “how have you been?”

I scoffed “are you serious about that question now Moon Goddess or is this just some trap to see what I would actually say?” I asked.

“I told you that the trials you ace would be much Ayla” she said.

“Then well will it end!”

I finally burst out. I could not stand here right in front of her and act like everything was alright.

“Of what use is it to be the Moon born Alpha if I can’t even protect the ones that I love?” I asked.

I had thought about that question a million times and each time, it just seemed to make me sadder.

The moon goddess smiled at me “all things will work out for good in the end Ayla”

“Yeah, but why do u have a feeling that everything is going to get worse?” I asked.

She got serious "Time is running out Ayla. The final battle approaches, and the fate of your pack and everyone hangs in the balance."

I knew it!

I just knew that there was no way on earth that she came bearing good news. Quite the opposite in fact, she came to announce that there was more woes to come.

Now isn’t that just charming?

I felt a shiver run down my spine, and I placed a soft hand on my stomach. "What am I going to do, moon Goddess?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper “do I even have what it takes?”

The Moon Goddess's gaze pierced my soul. "This is the true test of your will, Ayla. You have come far, but the road ahead is treacherous. The enemy is powerful, and the stakes are high."

I nodded, my heart pounding in my chest. "I understand that well enough" I said.

The Goddess's expression softened. "You cannot give up, child. You have been preparing for this moment. Your will is strong, and your heart is pure. There is so much that you have to protect… But remember, everything might change. The outcome is far from certain."

I was scared, and the Moon goddess speaking in all of this cryptic ways that I could barely understand was doing nothing to help my situation. "Will everyone be safe?” I asked.

I deserved to know that much at least.

She smiled kindly at me. "They will stand by your side, as will I. I will always be with you, Ayla, even in the darkest moments. Remember my power, and draw strength from it."

I nodded my head.

She did not say anything about their safety and that meant that maybe she didn’t know the outcome. That is why she said there was going to be uncertainty.

She placed her hand on my forehead and I saw it, just a flicker of a vision Thorne, he stood tall, bloody with pitch black eyes, and then there was Darius…. The vision faded away.

“Wait!” I said my eyes wide with panic “I want to know what happened next”

But then the vision had faded, and I was back in the forest, the moon hanging low in the sky.

I had tube ready, I had to be able to protect my own.

The Moon Goddess's voice whispered in my ear, "Everything might change, but one thing remains constant: my love for you, and my guidance. Trust in yourself, Ayla, and never forget the power that lies within."

I shot out of bed breathing heavily.

That was not just a dream…. The final battle was coming, and I was ready. We would have to face whatever lay ahead, with the Moon Goddess by my side.

I had to focus on what was important…. Protecting those we love.

I walked up to the window and faced the moon, its glow was still bright, and I felt my power bubble from within me.

I was the Moon born Alpha whether I liked it or not and I would stop at nothing to protect my pack.

Maybe Thorne had that small victory, but he had not won the battle…. I planned to crush him so thoroughly that he would not see it coming.



The next morning I walked up to Kalen.

“Would you believe if I told you that the Moon goddess spoke to me?” I asked.

He arched his brow at me like I was the stupid one “you are the Moon Born, I guess it would be kind of weird if she didn’t”

“Oh, that’s right”

“What did she say though?” he asked.

I saw Rae, standing at a distance but I could tell that she was listening in…. All god though, I had nothing to hide…. Especially since this fight concerned all of us.

"She said that the time is fast approaching…the final battle" I said “and that we had to fight to protect our own if not things would change as we know it forever”

“Did she even explain what any of that means?” Rae asked.

Alpha Kalen raised a brow at her “Seriously Rae, eaves dropping?” he asked.

She shrugged “you were going to tell us soon anyway” she said.

I looked between the both of them…. The way he looked at her was different, he let her get away with a lot of things.

Maybe they were mates?

Well I guess it didn’t take me long to find out because he bent down and whispered loudly in her ears “you have been begging for a punishment Rae, and I will be glad to do it right here”

Holy mother of second hand embarrassment.

I cleared my throat “we can talk more about all this later, just know that when the time comes we have to be ready” I said.

“And we will be”
