Tell Me Your Secret
Tell Me Your Secret
Life at school was normal. Apart from getting secretly teased by Vagamound whenever we had a solitary moment, everything was fine.
But as weeks went by, news started spreading around the school that Vagamound and I had gotten married.
No one believed it at first, but when the poster also uploaded a picture of Vagamound and me standing in front of the marriage registry, they were all shunned.
Lily: OMG, this is so shocking.
Diana: When did those two start dating to have suddenly gotten married in such a short period of time?
Vina: Maybe they must have known each other from childhood. Wow, I'm so jealous of Belia. How can she steal such a handsome guy under my watch? Tell me your secret, girl.
The comments section was full of people's surprise. But the person who was taken aback the most was none other than Polaris.
During the lunch break, she charged forward at me the instant she saw me on my way to the cafeteria.
“You…” She inhaled, trying to catch her breath. “Tell me it isn't true?”
“What's not true?” I frowned, looking at her impatiently.
“About you and Vagamound.” She straightened up, looking into my eyes as if to catch the truth. “Are you two married?”
“Hmm.” I nodded. “It's been three weeks and some days since we got married. Does that answer your question?”
Now stop blocking my path and let me leave. My stomach is crying in hunger.
I don't know, but ever since I ate that nourishing meal from before, my food intake has constantly doubled. Furthermore, my hunger has become so frequent that I had to keep a few snacks on my body.
As I was about to leave, a hand suddenly grabbed my hair.
“You slut! How dare you seduce my man.” Polaris's grip tightened around my hair.
“Ah, I'm going to kill you.” I moved my hand backward and also grabbed her hair.
Because of my enhanced physical strength, Polaris cried out from the strong pull.
“Ah, let me go, bitch.”
“Let go of my hair first,” I said, tightening my pull.
“Ah!” Polaris screamed loudly, feeling several strands of her hair loosening away from her scalp.
The pain was so severe that she almost lost her grip, but she didn't give up on pulling my hair.
The pain of having one's hair pulled isn't great at all. The passing students walked past us, not attempting to separate the two of us. Some even brought out their phones to capture the fighting scene.
“Let me go.”
“No, you let me go first.”
Just when I thought that the tussle wouldn't end, a voice suddenly sounded.
“What the hell are you doing?”
Polaris was the first to let go, and I did the same. Clumps of hair fell from her head onto the floor.
“Ahh, my hair!” She lifted her hand to her head, feeling the bald spot on it. “I'm going to kill you!”
Before she could pounce forward on me, a figure suddenly stepped in between us, stopping her charge.
“I already have a video evidence of what happened here. If you don't want me to report your imprudent actions to the school council, then mind your manners, Ms. Polaris.”
Polaris finally realized that she couldn't win this fight and backed away. She gave me a hard glare before turning to leave.
“Thank you so much, Frand.”
The person who intervened was none other than Frander.
Frand turned around, asking me. “Are you alright?”
“Sure, I am.” I straightened my roughened hair, adding, “I wasn't the one who lost a clump of hair and ran away in defeat.”
“I can see how fierce you are.” Frand smiled, wondering how I could still make a joke at this moment. “Do you want me to report this incident to Vagamound?”
“No, don't.” I waved my hand in dismissal. “I can take care of this little trouble.”
“Here, let me help with your hair.” He reached out and helped me smooth my hair further.
“Thank you.”
As he was brushing my hair, Frand's movement suddenly paused, and he brought his hand down, grabbing my wrist.
“What happened?” I looked up at him, surprised at his sudden action.
“You…” Frand's eyes were full of shock.
“What is it? Why are you staring at me like that? Could it be that I have a bald spot on my head?” I reached out, touching my scalp, but I couldn't feel any signs of baldness.
“How could it happen so soon?” His expression still looked stunned.
“What happened so soon? Hello, talk to me. Stop speaking in parables and at least make me understand what you're talking about.” I was beginning to get frustrated with his beating around the bush.
“Nothing.” He shook his head. “I just saw that your physical strength has improved, and I was so amazed. Did Vagamound feed you with something from the immortal world?”
“Yeah. About a few weeks ago, he gave me a delicious meal that's infused with a lot of energy.”
“That's very sensible of him. It should be able to keep it stable.”
“Keep what stable?”
“Nothing.” Frand shook his head. “I'm already done with your hair. Bye, I have somewhere to go.”
Before I could thank him for his job, he sprinted away hurriedly, and I stood there in a daze.
“What's wrong with him?”
Why does he seem so excited? Well, that's not something I can know about.
I turned my gaze away from his departing figure and hurried my pace towards the cafeteria.
I can only hope that the meat hasn't finished by the time I get there.
