Vagamound's facial expression underwent a big change when he heard what San said. A gloomy aura suddenly overwhelmed him.

“Please save her.” San was still on his knees. “I know that you are the only one who can bring her out of prison. I believe Zanillia. I know that she would never murder anyone. The murderer might still be in the palace, lurking around. It might be an enemy who has infiltrated the palace.”
San said many things at once, which made it hard for Vagamound to proceed.
“Tell- Ah!” Vagamound suddenly held his chest. His heart felt as if it was being squeezed under a tight hand.
The black hair on his head instantly turned silver white. His right pupil became red like blood, while his left pupil was as blue as the ocean.
“Vagamound!” San noticed the latter instant transformation and hurriedly rushed forward to his side. “What happened to you? What is wrong with you?” He held Vagamound on the back and helped him to the seat in the room.
“I'm fine.” Vagamound pushed San's hands away as he sat. “Don't mention what happened here to the others. As for your woman, I will find a way to save her. Now, leave.”
San knew that there was something wrong with Vagamound when he heard the latter asking him to keep what he saw here as a secret from the others.
However, he knew that his curiosity wouldn't be answered even if he asked him about it. So he nodded in agreement.
“Okay.” He retreated from the room and left quietly.
Watching him leave, Vagamound knew that the secret which he had been trying to hide for so long was now out in the open.

Vagamound held the armrest of the chair and looked down at his chest.
Why did his illness erupt all of a sudden?
He thought he had been healed ever since he helped Zanillia restore her eyesight that night.
Then what's happening? It seems like he needs to confirm something again.

I sat inside the prison cell. Thankfully, it wasn't the cold prison room I was put in last time. So, apart from the feeling of silence around me, everything was okay.
I tilted my head upward, gazing at the round light that shone upon the room.
The coverage of the light only covered a few centimeters, while the rest of the room was in total darkness.
I wait in silence, hoping that the real murderer will be found quickly, and then I will be clear of the charges imposed on me.

“It's me, Feiye.” The hold on my waist tightened, and the familiar voice floated into my ears.
“Feiye?” I looked down at my shoulder and saw strands of silver hair sprawled across it. “What are you doing here? No, the thing is, how did you get in here?” There were several guards outside. There's no way they would have let an unfamiliar person into the prison.
“I have my ways.” He let go of my waist and turned me around.
“What… What happened to you?” I was shocked the moment I saw his current appearance. “Your eyes…”
“I-” Before he could explain anything, his eyelids suddenly felt heavy, and he fell forward.
“Ah!” The heavyweight fell on me unannounced, pushing me to the ground.
“Aww.” I cried out in pain when my head met the floor.
Feiye's heavy weight continued to press on me.
I immediately pushed him off me. But before I could get up, he suddenly grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug.
“Please.” His voice croaked weakly. “Can you please stay with me for a few minutes?”
Detecting the weakness in his voice, I unknowingly agreed.
“Okay.”
Hearing my reply, Feiye forced his lips into a smile and moved closer into my embrace.

The door of the prison cell was pushed open. The sudden light instantly spread across the dark cell, revealing the two occupants inside.
Noticing the arrival of the guards, I immediately pushed Feiye with all my might.
“Hey, wake up. You need to escape right now. The guards are here.”
“What?” Still groggily from sleep, Feiye turned his body around and continued to sleep.
“Hey, you-”
“Zanillia Zhao.” One of the guards called out as they moved forward.
“Yes.” I hurriedly answered.
Soon, they arrived before me and the sleepy Feiye.

Looking at Feiye, who continued to sleep peacefully despite the arrival of the guards, I felt like crying inside my heart.

All the guards immediately fell to their knees and bowed towards the sleeping Feiye.

“Yes, my lord.” The guards bowed at the empty spot before moving to take me away.
