Chapter 535 Proposal

Chapter 535 Proposal

Ambrose suddenly realized what was happening.

Wasn't this the video he had planned to use to propose to Kenna?

How did it end up here?

Did Allegra mess up?

He knew that things always went wrong when he left them to Allegra.

He rushed to the stage, trying to stop the video from playing.

But after just a couple of steps, he was stopped.

George and Nico blocked his way, and the video continued to play on the screen.

"Kenna is my wife. We've been married for many years, but I've never truly loved her the way she deserves. It's not that I don't love her; I was just too scared to show it. I felt so inferior compared to the people she liked, so I acted out in childish ways to hurt her."

On the screen, Ambrose's eyes were filled with guilt. "I'm sorry, Kenna. I regret it so much now. How could I let my jealousy make me treat you so coldly for all these years? Every night, I wanted to hold you, but my stupid pride kept me from enjoying so many moments with you."

What started as a heartfelt confession quickly turned into something that made everyone laugh and cry at the same time.

"Kenna, I love you," Ambrose suddenly said loudly.

His eyes were firm as he spoke.

"I really love you. I fell for you the moment I saw you. But because you didn't like me and I felt so insecure, I always tried to get your attention in ways that made you hate me. Looking back, I was such an idiot!"

"But from now on, I'm going to change, completely change."

"I may not be the best, but I swear, I will be the best man for you in this world."

"I won't lose my temper with you anymore, I won't boss you around, and I won't let my jealousy hurt you on purpose. From now on, you call the shots in our home. My money is yours, my life is yours."

Though his words were a bit cheesy, they moved the more emotional guests to tears.

"So," Ambrose's voice on the screen choked up, "will you marry me again? Let's start over from now. We'll sleep together every night and enjoy all the rights of being a married couple."

The crowd laughed again.

He couldn't stay serious for more than a second.

"We'll try to have kids, boys or girls, it doesn't matter. As long as they're ours, I'll love them with all my heart."

"I'll work hard to be a good husband and a good father. I'll be with you until the end of time."

"Kenna!"

"I love you!"

"Will you marry me?"

The video ended.

According to Ambrose's original proposal plan, petals would fall from the sky, and he would walk onto the stage with a dazzling diamond ring to propose to Kenna in front of everyone.

But now, there was nothing. The lights came back on.

Kenna saw Ambrose standing there, fists clenched, veins bulging.

George and Nico let go of Ambrose.

"Don't be a coward," Nico whispered in Ambrose's ear.

Ambrose pressed his lips together tightly.

He didn't know if this was the chance his best friends, Hazel, and Allegra, had fought for him.

But it was too late.

Since Brooks' car accident, this should have been buried in the past.

He and Kenna had no future, and he didn't blame them.

He knew they were trying to help, but he didn't want to make things difficult for Kenna.

All eyes at the banquet were on Ambrose and Kenna.

Kenna stood in the center of the stage, her eyes fixed on Ambrose.

He stood quietly in the crowd, looking at her.

She was really afraid he would turn and leave.

And she didn't know if she would have the courage to stand in front of him, in front of so many people, and express her feelings again.

In the overly quiet space, Ambrose suddenly walked towards the stage.

Step by step, his steps seemed heavy yet inexplicably determined.

Kenna's heart raced uncontrollably.

Everyone else watched them nervously, especially Hazel and Allegra.

Allegra was really afraid that Ambrose, the coward, would run away at the last minute.

Fortunately, Ambrose was a responsible person and wouldn't leave Kenna in an awkward situation.

Under everyone's gaze, Ambrose stood in front of Kenna.

Their eyes met, and Ambrose's eyes flickered.

His throat moved slightly.

His emotions were obvious, but he tried to stay calm.

He said, "Kenna, don't take it to heart."

Kenna's eyes moved slightly, still fixed on him.

"That was just something I recorded on a whim. Just think of me as a lunatic," Ambrose joked, looking nonchalant. "You know how I am, always doing crazy things on a whim. Don't take it seriously."

Saying that, Ambrose turned to find the staff to delete the video.

"But I've already taken it to heart," Kenna said, word by word.

Ambrose's steps froze.

His heart raced, but he forced himself to stay calm. "I'm sorry."

Kenna looked at Ambrose, seeing his regret and helplessness.

Her tears kept welling up in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, Kenna, for causing you trouble," Ambrose said, looking at her. "If it bothers you that much, I'll stay out of your life. You shouldn't let someone like me affect your life. It's not worth it."

"Someone like you? What kind of person are you?" Kenna asked.

"Someone who is unreliable, does whatever he wants, never considers others' feelings, and is always irresponsible. In short, not a good person," Ambrose joked, but he really belittled himself.

Kenna's eyes turned red.

She said, "You, who would sacrifice your own feelings and even slander yourself to help others, how are you not considerate? You, who would leave your home to avoid making things difficult for others, how are you unreliable? You, who work tirelessly to expand the family business, how are you irresponsible?"

Kenna held back her sobs and asked Ambrose, "How can you say that about yourself?"

Ambrose pressed his lips together.

He didn't expect Kenna to defend him like this.

He was really touched.

He always thought he was worthless in Kenna's eyes.

Not just Kenna, but in everyone's eyes, he was just a troublemaker.

"Kenna."

"I do." Kenna suddenly spoke.

Ambrose looked at Kenna.

Her sudden words left him puzzled.

"I said, Ambrose, I do want to marry you!" Kenna said loudly.
