Chapter 21

Hussain POV

"Remember Aiden you will be picking up Allison at 5:00 PM, pick her up before you get me," I sat in the back of the SUV, scrolling through my phone,

"Will do boss,"

"What you think about Ms. Singh? Interesting girl... isn't she?" I taunted Aiden,

"What do you mean?"

"Do you think she is beautiful? Attractive?"

"Sorry, boss, I don't know what you mean, Toni—I mean, Ms. Singh—and I aren't close, so I haven't got the chance to notice,"

Chuckling at the terrible liar he was, I continued reading the online article, his nervousness confirmed my suspicions and I needed not to proceed further. Tomorrow was the day for my family's private extravaganza, I know the poor maids must be overworked and the chefs are now prepping their course meals. It's one thing I know, my family didn't play when it comes on to get-togethers, especially ones like these where guests will be present. And now I can't help but wonder who will my sibling victimized by dragging them along, my father spared no mercy, and my mother throws indirect shades, this is going to be one hell of an evening, and I am sure it will end with a bang, it always does. Speaking of which I need to give the stylist a call, I should have set my appointment weeks back but it's sudden and I am sure she will understand. Allison is a beautiful woman, there is nothing about her I would change but this is a dinner even I will have to dress down for, and she must be perfect. Shifting my thoughts to yesterday, I swallowed hard, if Toniann knows about the contract then I suppose Aiden already does too, and this is what I feared. Allison might trust Toniann, and I am sure about Aiden's loyalty, but she breached a contract term, one I would have dismissed another woman for, but not her... And I don't know why.

Slowing down the car came to a stop in front of Myers Corp, the firm was already busy with potential with clients flowing in and out, late employees scrambling to get their designed floor before Toniann notices they haven't checked in yet. It's one thing I liked about her, it's her sticking to the rules and take care of whoever breaks them,

"Remember what I said Aiden, pick her up at five, then you come and get me at six," I reminded him as I stepped out of the car, closing it behind me.

Smiling proudly at my achievements, I marched up the steps of my legacy,

"Mr. Myers... Mr. Myers," a reporter ambushed me with a mic in his hands and a cameraman My heartbeat steadily increased, what was it now, did someone see me at Allison? Or was it Maria that said, Oh God, it was another scandal, wasn't it?

"Mr. Myers," he caught up to me, "Our sources say that you were seen getting into a cab yesterday, are you going into bankruptcy?"

"Wait, what did you say?"

"Why did you have to take a cab yesterday?" He asked again nudging the mic to my mouth, the cameraman, held the device on his shoulders, parking through the lens as he pointed it in my face,

"Get off my premises," I muttered can't "Why are you afraid to answer the question Mr.—"

"Kid... Get off my premises, you won't get a story here, I can promise you that, what you need to do is get a different source... Or a different job," I uttered, walking away from them,

"Another day, another dollar," I mumbled, as I strode towards my elevator.

The day went by quickly, it was now 5:50 PM and I decided to wait here for the remaining ten minutes. Striking a match, I lit the end of a cigar, puffing it vigorously as the fire spread across the dry tobacco. I haven't smoked in long while, and I am now because I am nervous, I know Allison is already there waiting for me, probably she is wrapped up in those satin sheets, wanting me to hurry home, to deplete her body. Feeling my manhood rising like a flag, I began to grab my things, I had to go home either way.

Standing outside the building, I stared down on my watch, waiting for Aiden this isn't like him at all, he has never been late before, but since the last couple of days, he hasn't been focused and always coming up with lame excuses, "I sorry boss," the car tires screeched up to me, "I lost track of time,"

"If it's going to mess with your livelihood Aiden, I pulled the car door, "Then she isn't worth it," I mumbled,

"I am sorry, boss... I just lost track of time," he started the engine,

"No," I whispered, "She let you lose track of time."

Pulling up the house, Aiden drove slowly up the driveway, and the closer we came up to the mansion, the more butterflies increased in my stomach, why was I this nervous? I questioned myself. Maybe it's the anxiousness, knowing I am going to see everyone tomorrow, but I can't deal with her tonight, not under these conditions anyway, I will just avoid her until tomorrow, and just maybe then I will shake this feeling, we will be too busy to even correspond any way.

Stepping down from the car, I angled towards the door, twisting the knob, when suddenly it was yanked by someone. Staring into my eyes, with fold arms, I could see the anger burning in hers, and I knew exactly what she was upset about,

"Maria... It would be nice if you let me in... You're forgetting you're not my wife, and this is my house,"

"Why did you have Aiden bring her here?" She stepped aside,

"I didn't know I need your permission, Maria, forgive me I will certainly ask next time," I sarcastically joked,

"I am the mother of your child Hussain, I deserve respect, and I am the one you should be carrying tomorrow to that dinner,"

"Maria go to bed, your feet are swollen, you should rest,"

"I will talk, I will go to the press Hussain don't tempt me,"

"No, you won't Maria," I glared at her while standing at the base of the steps,

"You know why? You're too blinded in love to see that I don't love you, I never did,"

"I am warning you, Hussain!" She cried out as I climbed the stairs.

Walking slowly through the hall, I realized my studio door was half-opened the closer it came into full view, but why I haven't been in here for a couple of days now. Pushing the door open, the door creaked the further it went back, and there she was sitting on the stool, staring at the blank canvas, "I came in here to see if you've drawn anything new," Allison muttered, "I have been distracted lately," I swallowed hard, Standing from the seat, she gazed into my eyes as stepped back, away from the canvas. Not breaking the gaze, she slipped the fine straps of her white nightdress off her shoulders, exposing her pink nipples as the dress went further down, all the way to her ankles,

"I want you... to draw me," she mumbled.
