Chapter 10

Allison POV

Sitting in the car behind me, Aiden had his hands fixed on the steering wheel, waiting on Hussain and me to wrap up our conversation so he can drive me home,

"I must say, I had an interesting evening," I smiled throughout the slight discomfort I was feeling, my body was covered in invisible sores, due to last night's happenings.

"Yes, it was quite lovely," Hussain muttered, his voice was stern and cold, lacking emotions. It was just last night he was telling me about his paintings, I could see how excited he was to show them off, and now he is has gone gloomy.

"Is everything alright? Was it something I said—"

"No," he shook his head, "You didn't do anything,"

Peeking behind him, I met the eyes of his maid, she was watching us through one of the windows, with folded arms, staring at us with contempt, "You maid... I can tell she doesn't like me very much, she's so protective of you, I don't know if it's cute or should it raise some form of concern, maybe she thinks I am after your wealth,"

"Aren't they all?" He muttered, looking at the young maid over his shoulders,

"Well, I guess she doesn't know about our little agreement then," I chuckled "Oh and thank you for retrieving my purse, last night I got excited when I saw your paintings, I—"

"Allison," he cut me off, kneading into his eyes, "I'm tired, I haven't gotten much sleep and I need to rest so I can have a productive day,"

"Oh, well I guess this is goodbye... Hussain,"

"Allison,"

Looking away, I pulled the car door handle, scooting over as I closed it gently behind me, leaning my head against the tinted window, I gazed at him, thinking, he looks less intimidating when he isn't outfitted in suits, and If I didn't know better I would say he could see me, the way his eyes were fixed on the window, drilling holes in the back of my head.

"Are you ready Ms. Parker?" Aiden shifted the rearview mirror, eyeing me through it, "Yes, please," I smiled, nodding my head in agreement.

Our journey was a quiet one, I kept thinking about last night and how intense it was, I have never had sex like that I am starting to think that Hussain was the best I ever had, too bad in a year it will all come to end when the contract expires and I will have to return to my normal life, pretending I don't know him, and he will do the same. Hussain stepped out of his comfort zone last night, the way he dominates and takes charge excites me, the foreplay, the toys, I didn't want it to end and now I want more of it... More of him. Touching my lips, I pushed my legs together, hoping the burning flames of passion will fade away. How can my body crave for a man that doesn't belong to me, a man that doesn't want to be claimed, and when all of this is over, I will miss him, I can tell.

"You're ok back there Ms. Parker?"

Cleaning my throat, I sat up straight in the back seat, meeting Aiden's gaze in the rearview mirror,

"Yes, Aiden... I am ok, in fact, I forgot to ask you, Toniann? Did you bring her straight to my apartment last night?"

"Toniann? You are talking about Ms. Singh, I have seen her a few times around Myers Corp, but never got the chance to know her name, but yes I did carry her back to the apartment, she can be a handful though,"

Chuckling under my breath, I sighed, looking through the windows, watching the busy streets,

"Tell me something Aiden, the maid... The one back at the house, what's her name? I heard it last night, but everything is now void to me,"

"Who, Maria? What about her?"

"Nothing, it's just that... I don't know, she seems—"

"Like a total stuck-up bitch?"

"Yea, I would say in nicer words, but your way pretty much sums it up,"

"Everyone knows she is Ms. Parker, even her obsession with Mr. Myers is evident to us all,"

"Obsession?"

"Yes, she has strong feelings for Mr. Myers, and not in an employee, employer kind of way,"

"Like a secret admirer?"

"If that's what you call it, stalking if you ask me,"

"Don't be absurd Aiden, it's a little crush, it will go away, probably Hussain is the first man she has been around, he isn't bad looking, plus he is successful, she probably needs a mentor... Puppy love," I giggled "I beg to differ, Ms. Parker, it's been two years since she is working there, and still she guards him like a dog," he mumbled, "Ah, here we are, we have arrived at your apartment Ms. Parker,"

Starting through the windows, I realized we were indeed in front of my apartment, but I don't see Toniann's car parked anywhere, maybe she has gone to get food,

"Thank you, Aiden, you were good company," I grinned, clutching on the door handle,

"Ms. Parker?"

"Mhm?" I looked back at him,

"I wasn't the one who told you this... But I have never seen Mr. Myers bring a woman to his home, his condos, yes... But not his home, if you understand what I mean,"

Gazing at him my lips parted slightly, not knowing how to feel about what he just told me, "I guess he wanted to feel comfortable,"

"Trust me, Ms. Parker, if anyone knows how to adapt in the most uneasy situations, it's Mr. Myers," Aiden chuckled,

"Thank you for the ride Aiden, and please... call me Allison,"

"Ok, Allison, I guess I will be seeing more of you often,"

Chuckling, I ambled out of the car, waving to Aiden as I walked towards my apartment, still taken back by what he said, I am sure it means nothing, we are under a contract and it did say a place of his choice, maybe he just wanted to stay home for the night. Shaking my head, I fumbled around the purse for my keys, I hear the bloody thing, but I don't see them.

"Allison." The door burst open, with an optimistic Toniann pulling me into a tight hug,

"Whoa, it's only been a few hours, wait...where is your car, I didn't see it out front when I was coming in,"

Tugging on my arm, she pulled me inside, slamming the door shut behind her,

"Because of Aiden!"

"Aiden?" I whispered "He wouldn't let me drive back so I left it at the club so... they towed it,"

Clasping my hand over my mouth, I struggled to keep my amusement hidden, "I am sorry, it's not funny, but... You got drunk?"

"Yea, I tried to convince him I could drive home, but he made do the walk and turn sobriety test, who does he think he is, he isn't even a cop," she pouted "Actually," I lowered my bag onto the floor, inspecting my surrounding, it was cleaned, "He was in the army for five years, did you clean?"

"Yes, the whole place, five years why did they kick him out?"

"I don't think they did, he was a bodyguard for President,"

"The President? Of this country?"

"That's right, I guess they are right when they say don't judge a book by its cover,"

"So, what is he doing, working for Myers? "

"He pays more I guess,"

"Than the president?"

Rolling my eyes, I strode towards the kitchen, I wanted something to eat and I was trotting away from Toniann's never-ending questions.

"Yes, Toniann,"

"I have been working for him for three years and you learned this in one night,"

Ignoring her, I laid out thin pieces of turkey across two slices of bread, clamping them together, I bit down hungrily into it, my mind drifted off, thinking about Maria,

"He also has a maid, heard she's a but job when comes on to him,"

"You have met Maria?"

"Yeah... How did you—"

"Eavesdropping, always telling her what he wants for dinner,"

"Mhm, interesting, I don't think she likes me very much, I have this gut feeling that I can't shake off,"

"You think he is involved with her, the help?"

"What she has between her legs is a man's weakness, Toniann, never forget that."

Hearing a tone from my laptop, I scurried over to it, wondering who is the new email is from. Taking another bite into my sandwich, I flipped opened the device, scrolling through the mails one, one.

"But if you have met Maria that means you have been to his house," Toniann followed behind me

"Why does everyone keep making a big deal out of that, so what if he took me to his house, it wasn't a ring or—" I froze, swallowing the anxiety that settled at my throat. Gaping at the screen, my heartbeat sped up, restlessly trying to escape from my chest,

"What's wrong?" Toniann muttered, "Who is it from?"

"It's from Gary... he is back and wants to catch up over lunch."
