Chapter 30 SALIKOV
Dimitri
Clenched fists.
Pupils dilated. I could feel my heart pounding like it was in a hell race.
“This is getting out of hand. Have I not made a terrible mistake putting my idiot daughter in the hands of Roberto?!”
“That fucker has messed with her head now she can't even follow my instructions. She dares even talk back at me!!!”
“What an insolent behaviour!”
“Boss…” one of my Mafia boys came in and knelt in front of me.
“What is it again this time?”
“There is trouble at the casino. The Blue Ivy came to scatter the whole place…”
“The Blue Ivy? I don't understand. What the heck are those guys doing here? We have no business with them or did anyone set a call with them without my consent?”
“Not at all, Boss. No one dares to do that,” the boy answered with his head still facing the ground.
“Look at me…” I ordered.
“The fuck??! Who did this to you?”
“I wa at the casino, Boss, collecting the returns of last night when they came in, blowing hot,” he explained.
“Was there any message or this is just the Blue Ivy trying to tamper with our gang?” I asked out of curiosity.
There was no way I would deal with those motherfuckers again. Definitely not after what they made me go through.
Because of them, I lost my dear Gloria to the cold hands of death. I still blame myself for listening to…….
“Hold on, where is Duder?”
“Get him here!” I raise my voice at him.
I stare at the gun lying on the couch next to me and hissed…..”these motherfuckers can't even do up to what my boy, Diego, is doing. Just a bunch of dark skinned niggas parading themselves in my villa!!” I lashed out angrily as I split open the box of tobacco with my pocket knife.
“Oh, Boss…let me help you with that,” Duder interrupted the minute he walked in.
“Quit the play. Where the heck have you been?” I raised my voice at him.
“The boys were having a shooting practice at the backyard. I decided to go join them,” he uttered recklessly.
“Can you hear yourself, Duder? Have you found Diego? Have you done everything I asked of you yet you going about for some stupid practice?”
“What the heck is wrong with you??” I lashed out angrily.
“And did you hear about the casino?” I asked further.
“Yes, boss. The boys are talking about it. It's a crazy scene…” he said.
I bang on my head on forehead at the receipt of his words. “What should I do, Boss?” He asked.
“Pfff….” I scoffed.
“You get back to the casino and put everything in order. Don't make me lose it, Duder. You are passing me off…”
“And what exactly did you find out about Diego? Where exactly is he?”
I couldn't stop the search for him. He was my greatest asset. He had a way of solving my issues even before I think of panicking about them.
Diego was spectacular.
I couldn't count how many times he has stood for me without me knowing. He was the perfect bodyguard. The perfect Mafia brother I would always want by my side.
I stared at Duder who seemed restless on what next to do as I flashed back on my past dealings as a Mafia Boss.
“Hey, Diego. We need to leave here now. I don't trust these motherfuckers. They could be working for the feds or something..”
“Boss….we are the Mafia. No feds has the audacity toncome against us. Just give me the order, I'd take out these men for you..” he said as he pulled out the gun.
We were in the empty warehouse when a fight ensued amongst our suppose supplier right in our front.
It was like a stage play. How it happened still seem funny to me.
“Where is the money? We showed you the drugs already,” the weird dude with the floral suit shouted.
“You need to watch your tone. No one here is your enemy. We are simply here for business,” Diego shouted back.
I was just gently rested by the car, smoking my cigarettes and puffing in the air like a man with no gooddamn worries.
Well, I actually had none. My men were always there and active to seal off any deal and if anyone messes up, they gun them down right in front of me.
It was that brutal.
“Yo! How dare you speak to me that way? Do you know who I am?” I heard the supplier shout at Diego.
“Oh come on, don't be mad. You don't want to mess with me,” I heard Diego reply without holding a back a word.
“What's happening over there?” I interrupted from where I stood.
Diego ran back to meet me where I stood by the car, “Boss, I told you I don't really like this men. They have zero regard for us and we are their customers, the highest paying one at that!” He complained.
“Ignore the foll and his words. Just seal the deal and let's get going. I ,need to see some ass at the club. I'm feeling wild down there already,” I uttered.
“Okay, boss,” He smiled.
Iwatxhed closely as Diego waked back to the weirdo. They talked back and forth. I noticed the supplier kept looking in my direction and hurling some words at Diego but I couldn't make anything out of it from where I stood.
Next thing I heard was a straight gunshot, Diego firing repeated times at the young lad.
Minutes after, Diego wa till there firing. I could bet he wasted his entire bullets on the poor dude.
“The fuck did you do that for?” I spoke angrily.
“He spoke against you, Boss. He said you arent fit to be a Mafia King and we were all blind followers. There was no way I could take that, Boss. I couldn't let him walk away after saying such!”
“......so I shot him to show him the stuff we are made of,” Diego spoke ina defensive tone.
I chuckled.
“That's my boy,” I patted him on the ahoulder amd we zoomed off in style.
“Boss,” Duder's voice caught me off guard.
“I'm listening,” I answered in a haste.
“We still don't know where he is. The only person we found was his younger brother and the fella doesn't know his whereabouts..” Duder explained.
“Diego has a brother? Who the fuck is that?”
“Some kid named Jordan. Do you want me to get him here, Boss?”
“Just go away. I need to set some things straight!”
I picked up my phone and dialed a number, “Hello.”
“What's happening?” I said over the call.
“We are looking to expand but I need firearms. The more places we conquer, the farther your name travels, Boss,” the voice over the phone said.
“Hmmmm..”
“The expansion isn't yielding exactly what I want, my friend,” I responded.
“What do you mean?”
“I want to cross countries, states, everywhere…”
