Chapter Seven: Couple’s Therapy

We are in Eric’s office laughing at our situation. None of us imagined this when we dreamt of finding our person. Hell, I didn't think Fate existed until now. Honestly, I lived in half-truths. My whole life has been a half-truth and now it looks like Fate will show me what's real using three extremely attractive and not remotely human men.

I look at the guys, “I’m sorry.”

Vincent takes my hand that I was fidgeting with, “Stop apologizing! You will learn what all you can do and with that will come control.”

Eric shakes his head as he chuckles, “Eva, at least we know what you can do inside now.”

I glare at him, “Not funny!”

He smirks, “Kinda is.”

That's when I finally look down at something besides my hands. My dress, it is completely see-through now because of me getting soaked from the sprinklers. I facepalm.

Now Vincent chuckles, “Well, well, well I got to see you all wet after all.”

He's such an ass so I punch him in the shoulder. He touches his shoulder, “Hey, that hurt a bit.”

I smirk, “Good, serves you right.”

Eric laughs as he goes to find me something to wear. Is Eric always so composed? What rattles him?

He comes back with a long red dress. He tells me that it was Vicky’s as she stashed clothes everywhere. While I was changing, he got him dry clothes and Vincent a dry shirt.

I walk out adjusting the dress. It covers me well, but I feel exposed. Eric says, “I know that was Vicky’s, but it looks way

better on you. Do you not like it?”

“I do, it's just nothing like I am used to,” I say.

Vincent sighs loudly, “Can we just find her a bag or something?”

He's back to being possessive again. I huff as I roll my eyes, “Vin, just stop.”

Eric adds, “She could wear a garbage bag coated in filth but it still wouldn't matter.”

I know that he's talking about the bond, but I am not ready for that discussion yet. “Whatever, I just need to make it back ho…to Vincent's.”

Vin’s eyes twinkled, “You almost called it home.”

Yes, but I'm not ready to admit it to myself or anyone just yet, “Shut it before I punch you again.”

He chuckles as he smirks, “I could just compel you.”

I cock an eyebrow, “Try it!”

I feel him start to suppress my will so I started singing '''I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. That did the trick too!

Eric laughs, “Oh, that was funny!”

Vincent glares at me, “Stop cheating.”

I shrug, “I am not though. When I start to feel it I cause chaos. It stopped ya didn't it?”

Eric smiles, “At least it wasn't something annoying like Tiptoe Through The Tulips.”

We laugh. I inform them, “My mind is rarely quiet, so it's not hard to think of a song. Why you should stay out of my head as it's very noisy in there.”

Vincent shakes his head, “Fate must hate me.”

I tease, “Awe it could be worse, you could've gotten Katie.”

He scoffs, “No way I could be stuck with a princess for eternity.”

I grin, “She'd have never gone for a late-night stroll with you through the woods either.”

He returns my grin, “Barefoot and in satin pajamas too.”

I giggle, “See you got lucky because I'm that kinda girl!”

Eric adds, “Yes, but you also blend into the aristocracy when needed.”

I shrug, “What a good journalist does.”

He looks at me as if he doesn't believe me. He probably doesn't and I am starting to not as well. The longer that I'm around them, the more I realize that my human life was a lie.

Eric asks, “When do you meet with the wolf?”

I tell him later today and he tells me that he wants to listen in. He could anyway, but I like that he's asking.

Vincent says, “We should go before full sunrise unless you want to take a cab.”

I nod, “True we flew and your powers don't work well in the sun like mine do.”

Eric says, “We need to learn more for sure. You probably are a hybrid, but of what I have no clue. You're not like the one from the prophecies that was turned into a hybrid you just are. It's fascinating.” He excitedly adds, “None of the prophecies that I am aware of involved multiple mates and the emergence of abilities like you are experiencing.”

He is so excited about our situation, but I can't be yet. I fear that Vincent and Sam are always at odds and Eric is in the middle. Can he help me keep their possessive, brutish behavior in check?

Eric kisses my cheek. He's being very understanding and respectful especially since it appears that I'm his mate too. I'm still not sure how this will work or if it can. Eric smiles as he gave me another peck on the cheek, “Now let's go announce to the club that you're under our protection. That should keep the other ladies away from you.”

I smile, “If not, I can handle them like I did Veronica.”

He says, “No doubt, but let's avoid.”

As Vincent shakes his head I say, “I can be tactful and kill them via gossip too.”

Vin looks annoyed, “How?”

“Your kind is all about status and reputation correct? Don't answer because I know How else to knock someone down then to tarnish if not obliterate their cherished reputation,” I say.

His smugness grows, “Maybe, but you have a reputation too as a journalist. You need to protect that.”

I laugh, “Easy. Pseudonym,

I can always get others. Plus I wear disguises. Very few know my true identity and I will keep it that way.”

Eric adds, “She's damn good. I had a hell of a time finding her.”

Now it's my turn to be cocky, “I'm damn good at a lot of things.”

Vincent wraps his arms around me, “Enough!”

I pout, “Awe, you are ruining my fun.”

I just feel powerful and feisty around these guys. I don't know if it's them or me or the combination. But honestly, I don't care. For once, I

feel like myself and I feel at home. Home such a simple word but so difficult to find and keep.

Vincent kissed the top of my head, “You're infuriatingly insufferable.”

I laugh, “Welcome to your eternity.”

Eric says, “Old friend, you can't change Fate.”

I add, “But you can alter your destiny. Each choice we make connects to another, we weave our own web of destiny by the choices we make in the present.”

Eric smiles and chuckles, “Let's go, Confucius!”

I wonder if he knew him. I wonder how old everyone is that I have met so far. We go into the club where the Prince makes the announcement. Most just blindly accept it. The ladies show even more contempt. Apparently, they thought they'd be

in line for either guy. Well, tough titties bitches!

My thoughts must have been a bit loud because the guys just laughed and smiled at me. I blush, “Sorry.”

Eric and Vincent both say, “Stop that was funny.”

I shrug, “I hate gold digging, power hungry little girls a bit more than I hate the boys that seek the same.”

Eric looks into my eyes, “Please be careful and have a safe trip home.”

I roll my eyes, “I will.”

Vincent balks, “You'll accept it eventually.”

I smirk at him as I wrap my arms around him, “What if I don't want to?”

He lightly kisses my lips, “Oh, you do.”

He's right, I do but I'm just not ready to admit it. I still need some convincing before I give into the bond. We exit the club and fly home. Yes, I referred to it as home. Katie is sound asleep because I checked in on her on the way to my room to put my pajamas back on. I plop onto the couch and Vincent joins me in his pajamas.

He smiles at me, “Well I guess we're stuck together.”

I roll my eyes up at him, “Tell me how you really feel.”

As he leans in he says, “I would rather show you.”

He kisses me and he guides me onto my back on the couch. Our hands roam our bodies. His touch is

light yet firm. Being with him like this doesn't feel strange or alien. It feels the opposite as if I have done it for a lifetime and will continue to. We pull away panting for breath.

He rests his forehead on mine, “I'm not sure how long I can fight this.”

“I…”

He says, “You are as confused as I am.”

I sigh, “It's like my mind says one thing but my body just completely ignores it.”

He nods, “My mind wants to get to know you, to court you properly but…”

I look between what little space there is between us, “I get it. I'm not a meet n f*ck kinda girl. It takes many dates to get that far.”

He adds, “I don't do relationships nor date. I haven't been with a woman like that for decades.” He continues, “You are my mate and you're different. It's pointless for me to deny anything with you.”

I intertwine my fingers with his, “There's no other explanation is there?”

He says, “No not after tonight. The mindlink plus the fact that when I'm near you calm and regain control of your abilities.”

I nod, “I believe you. Why did I see Eric's greatest loss instead of sin, like everyone else? Is it because he's a mate too or…?”

Vincent shrugs, “I honestly don't know.”

I suggest that we just lay on the couch since Sam will be here soon. I wish for a blanket and it flies over like a flying carpet.

He says, “I don't think I'll ever get used to that.”

I had issues at first, but now I enjoy it, “It's a new thing for me. Just started after my last birthday It happened by accident. I was sitting on my bed back in my apartment working on a story. I really wanted some pretzels and cheese. Next

thing I know they came flying through my cracked bedroom door.”

He adds, “Well now we know you turning 25 was what triggered your new abilities. It might have allowed us to find you too. I think we should try to rest. Who knows when the wolf will be by.”

I smile because I know it will be shortly after sunrise. I can feel Sam’s anxiousness.

He lays back and opens his arms to me, “Well snuggle up, my dear.”

I grin as I laugh. He shakes his head, “Deal with it!”

Vincent gives me a kiss, “Goodnight, Eva.”

“Goodnight, Vinny.”

He chuckles as he snuggles his head into the crook of my neck. We lay on the couch cuddled up

together. I doze off thinking, ‘This feels nice. It feels so familiar and oh so right. This is my home. He is my home.’

——-Eric’s POV——

I was drawn to Eva prior to meeting her. There was something about her writing that spoke to me. Little did I know that it wasn't her writing speaking to me but her soul. I have no doubts that she is my mate. But her being Vincent's and Sam's too may pose as an issue.

I'm not possessive but they both are. I could see them trying to rip each other apart. But something tells me that Eva won't allow it. I will help too, but none of this is normal for any living species. I have to find out what she is so that I can help keep her safe.
