Chapter Fifty-two: Survived

The next two days of the full moon were a complete blur. I know we never left the house unless it was to have sex outside. I don't even remember eating. Now I know how people feel when they come out of a drug binge or drunken stupor. I have a few images of what occurred but no real grasp on the sequence of events.

I'm just glad that the full moon is over. I wish the haze was. But nope another month of this. Then it should lessen a bit but it will still be present as I've found my mates. If I hadn't, it would end on the last day of month number two. At least that's how it is supposed to go.

Or maybe I'd have never been affected by it had I not found these three men. Ugh, this is all insane. I'm up in my office finishing an article about a love triangle between an enchantress and a vampire and a werewolf. It was actually kind of fun to write. I included a few scenes from my own exploits. I hinted at the fact that a witch could control a vampire through a curse. Anything to try and fish out a trace of who this vampire king is and what coven is aiding him.

It did get a bit erotic but what can people expect when you're hazed out of your mind for days on end. I'm just putting on the finishing touches when I feel arms around me. “Love, you've been at this for hours. Come eat,” Vincent said as he lightly kissed the side of my neck.

I smile, “I'm just finishing.”

He smirks as he teases, “Oh, I bet many will after they read that.”

I cock my head confused, “What's that supposed to mean?”

He grins, “And I quote: "filled with desire he grabs my hand and rushes me off to the nearest available room. We end up in the ladies bathroom and he presses me against the door as he locks it… ...clothing disappears with a snap as our bodies join and writhe in undulating ecstasy.”

I blush, “Umm, write what you know.”

His smirk widens as he leans in close, “See even that got you hot.”

I scoff, “Did not.”

He raises an eyebrow, “You lie. You know I can feel it, right?”

I lightly smack his cheek, “Just stop!”

Vincent gently nips my ear as he whispers, “Oh you know that's impossible.”

I just shake my head as I smile at him. After I hit send and close my laptop, Vincent scoops me up and takes me down to dinner. Katie is the first to speak, “Nice of you to finally join the living.”

“Hey, I was working,” I say in my defense.

Eric says with a smirk, “Oh we heard.”

“Very creative and accurately descriptive too which gives me a few ideas for next time,” Sam teases.

I blush as I try to hide my face in my hands as Katie asks, “What did she write?”

“Supernatural erotica,” Vincent replies.

“What!” Katie exclaims in shock.

“Oh, it is quite steamy too,” Eric adds.

“Drop it,” I say as I look at each of them.

“I need to know, like 50 Shades kinda steamy?” Katie asks.

Sam grins as he answers, “Yep but more descriptive.”

Katie’s eyes widened, “I so have to read that!” I shake my head No but she continues, “Oh l am. I hear what you get up to might as well read about it to get my own visual.”

“You're terrible,” I reply as the rest of my skin reddens to match my cheeks.

She giggled, “No I'm very good.”

“I'll just go back to my office now,” I tell them.

Vincent glares at me, “No, you helped create this so you're dealing with it.”

“You're the ass that read it out loud,” I retort.

He shakes his head, “I only merely skimmed it.”

I challenge, “In that case, I'll alter some of your lyrics.”

“You most certainly won't!” he replies.

“Try me!” I respond as I tap my fingers on the table.

Sam throws his hands up, “Jesus, both of you just stop! Vincent, did you just go get her so you both could bicker?”

I laugh as Vincent says, “Stuff it, wolfman!”

I sigh, “We are stir-crazy, I think we need out of this house.” However, just as I said that Vincent’s phone rang.

“Are you doing this?” he asks me. I shook my head no and asked him who it was. “I don't know,” he said. So I instructed him to put it on speaker.

**Phone Call**

“Hello, brother,” a cocky voice said.

“Vlad?” Vincent asks.

“What other brother do you have?” he says smugly.

I laugh because Sam and I are thinking the same thing but Sam voices our thoughts, “Oh shit, there's two of them!”

I am nearly in tears from laughing so hard, “Oh this is going to be great!”

“Really, Eva,” Vincent says with a disapproving sigh.

“It's hilarious, love,” I say with a huge grin.

Vlad sighs dismissively, “I received your correspondence which is why I'm calling.”

I touch the phone because I don't like his tone. Also, I have a feeling that I'm not going to like what I am about to hear.

Vincent looks at me as he asks Vlad, “And?”

“You know the fallout from you returning. How can you be sure this woman is worth it?” Vlad says snidely.

Vincent grins at me, “Oh you'll see in a few minutes!”

I giggle as I show Vlad who I am. He says “Just what…” But is interrupted by screaming from his houseguests.

“What the hell!” Vlad bellows.

“Awe not a fan of nature,” I tease.

“Get these flying rats off of me or I will fry them!” he threatens.

“Oh, you don't want to do that because innocents dying pisses me off and you don't want to see me angry,” I warn Vlad.

Vincent grins at me because he's loving this, “But I do, my love.”

Exasperated, Vlad asks, “Why are you doing this?”

“To prove a point. I knew you'd question Vincent's intent. I just proved I can get to you all the way from the US. And well it could've been way worse. I just thought bats in Dracula's castle would be funny. I didn't know your guests were so squeamish,” I say.

“You're a witch! I don't deal with witches,” Vlad replies coldly.

I decided to call him out, “Why because a mediocre necromancer bested you? You know I can find him and break him in many ways. Your vampiress deserves to be able to control her own life.”

“No one can break that bond,” he says.

“But I can. No one can control me but I can them. I'm everything making my opposition nothing,” I say with confidence. At least I hope that I can break it.

“Trust me on this. She's beyond what we know,” Vincent tells his brother.

“You say that because you love her,” Vlad says flatly.

I shake my head, “Vlad, it goes way beyond that.”

“We fought it but there's no denying it. She's my mate. You're bitter because you let yourself love Elena and the witch took her,” Vincent says.

“You can love someone that's not your mate trust me, but when you find your mate it's completely different,” Eric adds.

“Prince Wood?” Vlad inquires.

“Yes, and Vicki wasn't my mate,” Eric replied.

“Brother, Eva is my mate. She's changed all of us too,” Vincent urges.

Katie giggles, “Not me, I'm still human!”

I shake my head, “Jesus Katie! Be happy you're just human!”

In a patronizing tone, Vlad says, “Just what kind of company are you keeping Vincent?”

“Oh, I don't like that tone!” I growl.

Possessing a bat let me see him clearly, so now I have a direct connection to him that I can manipulate, or at least think I can. So I envision him in a fireproof

blanket wrapped tightly and ice-cold rain pouring down.

“What…stop!” Vlad pleads.

“Then change your attitude or I'll change it for you,” I tell him.

Venomissly he says, “No one talks to me like that!”

Vlad has clearly never met a woman who can not just challenge him but best him. “Well | can and I do! Now stop being a controlling ass and listen!” I tell him.

Vincent laughs, “Welcome to my eternity, brother. I couldn't see this time, Eva. What did you do, love?”

I grin with satisfaction, “Wrapped him up and let it rain.”

Vincent chuckles loudly, “Nice. Next time share the visual with us.”

“Brother of all the women this past millennium,” Vlad says exasperatedly.

Beaming with pride, Vincent says, “Oh you haven't seen anything she's truly capable of. She's just having a bit of fun right now. Because I've heard her options.”

“We all have,” Eric adds.

“Like I said, the meeting is necessary,” Vincent insists.

“Is she a telepath?” Vlad asks in his mocking tone.

“She has a name and it's Eva, best you learn it while I allow you to speak,” I warn.

Vincent chuckles, “Mates are telepathic with each other which you know.”

“You see, I don't just see visions of the past, present, and future I can interact with them. Like I'm doing now,” I say with utter confidence.

“Prove it. If you can see me, what am I doing?” Vlad challenges.

“Flipping me off which isn't very nice,” I respond.

“Fuck!” Vlad yells.

Vincent laughs, “I tried to tell you, brother.”

“So are you rethinking your attitude now? You claim to be a historian. There are legends of those who keep mixed company,” I say.

“I do and it always led to bloody wars. Vincent was made during the last such war. Even she couldn't do this. What are you, Eva?” Vlad asks.

“We kinda were hoping you could help figure that out,” I say to Vlad.

“There are things you have to see to believe,” Vincent tells Vlad.

“Fine, I'll send a plane,” Vlad relents.

I made the blanket disappear and the rain stop. Then had a warm breeze dry him.

“Thanks for doing that. Would be hard to explain to my men. We will start over the next time we meet,” Vlad tells me.

“Alright, sounds fine to me,” I reply.

“I'll call when we are nearing the coast,” Vlad tells us.

We all agreed and said our goodbyes.

——-Vincent’s POV———

I am dreading this trip even more now. Eva was able to interact with him far too easily. I know his castle is highly protected. Nothing can get in without him or his guards knowing. He made sure of that after Elena was lured away. Yet Eva just flew bats in and tortured my brother in his own impenetrable fortress. Have her powers grown this much or is there more to it? Could he be her mate too? Either way, I'm not allowing Eva to be alone with him. I trust her, but I don't trust him!
