“How is any of this possible?” Kia asks.
Sam says, “There are legends and Eva is the embodiment of them.”
Eric adds, “We were fortunate enough to be fated to her.”
Kia cocks her head and asks, “As in love at first sight that is immortal?”
Vincent smirks, “As in love at first sight that is eternal.”
“You are really a vampire?” she asks.
Vincent nods, “Yes.”
Kia gasps, “He isn't just a Dracula expert, is he? He's Dracula!”
Vlad chuckles, “I am.” His smugness drives me insane.
“Are all of the legends about you true?” she asks.
I glared at Vlad. “Not all but many do have a bit of truth to them,” he says.
“The part about Dracula being an arrogant asshole and womanizer is true until he met me.”
Eric tries to smooth things over in his customary fashion. “Over time we have all tried to construct our own narratives because we can't afford for all humans to know because nothing good has ever come from that,” he explains.
Kia nods, “I can understand, I think. But you knew that we wrote about all sorts of supernatural things, so why not use us to perpetuate your narrative?”
I don't think Eric wants to go into details. “They had their reasons, but finally chose to use me. Eric didn't know that I was his mate when he invited me to that masquerade. That was just a bonus we all learned after I had already agreed to help.”
Derek sighs, “I know that I was abducted. | would like to know the details.”
Vincent squeezes my hand, “My love, let me,” I nodded and Vincent took Derek aside to explain everything. Eric explained things to Rick and Kia as well. I know that it is a lot to process, but noone should be left in the dark.
“I want to taunt Raven.”
Sam says sternly, “Wifey, I don't think that is wise.”
Bael puts his hand up, “Hear her out.”
“She is carrying my pup. We know Raven needs my blood, if she gets Eva she will get it!” Sam growls.
Bael pulls me to him and embraces me from behind, “She won't be getting Eva,” as he looks at Sam.
“I will lift Morgan's curse. Raven assumes Cassius has a witch helping him so let's play into that.” I look at Agnes and say, “Our two cats are both witches and together they are more powerful than Raven. We create an illusion and then they can subdue Raven.”
Bael nods, “Leaving Astaroth to us.”
“Yes.”
Brandon approaches me, “You will need someone to sell them out. Let me.”
I chew on my lip. “You don't know your powers yet...it,” I falter as emotions begin to well up.
Vlad takes my hand. “Eva, he made a blood oath and fulfilled it. Vincent gave him his blood beyond just enough to heal him. He's bound now,” he says firmly yet softly. “She can't kill him.”
“But…”
Brandon looks into my eyes, “Pain I can endure.” He cups my face. “I have always loved you. Trust me. Let me do this and prove that I deserve you.” It is very risky, but I know that if I want these men to trust me I must trust them.
**"To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved." -George Macdonald**
This quote emphasizes the high value of trust and how being trusted signifies a deep level of respect and contidence in a relationship. For my relationship to work, I must trust him. He is my unexpected mate, and since I trust that fact I will trust him. Our souls know the truth because they trust one another so now I will trust him so that my mind will learn what my soul already does. “Okay, let's take down a witch!”
