Eternally Bound Chapter 3: Alone Time

“So how should we go about it?”

Cassius thinks for a second, “Why not in the order that you became bound to them?”

Eric nods, “It is a fair and logical solution.”

Vincent smirks, “Fine by me,” as he grabs me and we teleport.

“Vin?”

“You trust me, right?” he asks.

“You know that I do.”

Vincent smiles, “Look around.”

“Oh my!”

We are on a boat on the other side of the country or some other country. The moon is just rising, illuminating a beautiful clear red sky.

He kisses my cheek, “Red sky at night is a sailor's delight. It means that favorable weather is ahead. So we are going to sail away for a bit.” He waves his hand and the anchors lift. The sails catch a breeze and we are pulled out to sea.

“Vin?”

He smirks but then smiles, “I have been working on my control of the gifts that you have given me.”

“But I haven't done anything.”

He approaches me. I feel the charge, the electricity between us. He cups my face and then runs his hand to my stomach as he speaks, “You have and you continue to do so too.”

“We didn't plan for this.”

“We didn't any of this. Fate brought us together after all of this time. The cats are right about almost everything. Don't you dare tell them that either!” He turns me to face the sea and he holds me from behind, “I hadn't planned to attend that masquerade. I decided that I would a few hours before. I felt compelled to.

You pulled me there.” He puts his hand over my heart, “We have always been bound, Eva. Just now we are bound in every way. ‘I can control my destiny, but

not my fate. Destiny means there are opportunities to turn right or left, but fate is a one-way street. I believe we all have the choice as to whether we fulfill our destiny, but our fate is sealed. Paulo Coelho’. We were destined to meet but our choices delayed it. Now we are fated to be together for an eternity. In Fate, we are eternally bound. I love you.”

“I love you too.” We kiss while looking out at the infinite sea. We have a life full of possibilities ahead of us. Then I see it out of the corner of my eye. At first, I thought it was a pod of dolphins, but I was wrong. “Vin!”

“Dolphins,” he says.

“No, look more closely when they surface.”

Vincent gasps, “It can't be!”

“Mermaids!”

Surely enough a pod of mermaids swam by the boat. A very beautiful long-haired blonde woman waved and smiled as they swam by. “I thought they were completely fictional.”

Vincent explains, “The fiction was based on truth. The first known mermaid stories appeared in Assyria c.1000 BC. The goddess Atargatis, mother of the Assyrian queen Semiramis, loved a mortal, a shepherd, and unintentionally killed him. Ashamed, she jumped into a lake and took the form of a fish, but the waters would not conceal her divine beauty. She was a witch much like Morgan and Agnes.”

“So she unknowingly created a new species?”

Vincent nods, “Yes,” His palms caress my belly, “Much like we have done.”

“How can we do this?”

“Same as we have everything up until now…together,” he says.

“I love you!”

Vincent smiles, “I love you too!” He turns me to face him and we kiss. It solidifies our connection. Together, we can do anything. He cups my face, “My child lives inside of you, but even if he didn't I would love him just the same. He is a part of you, a part of us.”

We kiss again but this time we give into the lust. We are alone at sea. We just saw mermaids. Everything is magical including our connection. He holds my head in his hands, “I need you.”

“Then take me. I have always been yours!”

He's completely right. This is fate. I connected to him instantly at that masquerade. I even went home with him. He is my eternity. My soul knew long before my brain accepted it, but I accept it all now.

We make love under the moonlight. We share everything from our pleasure to our breath to the life that we have created. He gazes into my eyes, “I love you.”

“And I you.” We lay on the deck naked and sated, our bodies are interwoven just as our souls are. I completely understand the concept of soulmates now.

A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens, love will always exist. Nothing can ever change that. We are eternally bound. Fate sealed this and destiny finally led us here.

"I used to believe in one true soulmate, but not anymore. I believe you can have a few.” - Paul Walker

I have found my few too.

"A soulmate is an ongoing connection with another individual that the soul picks up again in

various times and places over lifetimes.” -Edgar Cayce

Have we lived many lifetimes? Maybe I will never know the answer to that, but maybe I don't need to.
