We port as a group right into the living room of the Pack House. Chris jumped, “Shit! Sis, some warning next time would be nice! I could've had my Haze chick here.”
l laugh, “Don't even talk about it, bro! Because I've seen, done, and don't remember things that would blow your mind!”
Sam chuckles and I glare at him, “Mountain Man, I can turn your mountain to rubble! Care to test me?”
Vincent laughs and I snap at him, “Don't say a word Vin!”
Vlad starts laughing and I point my finger at him, “Macaroon is all I'm saying!”
Then there's a booming laugh, “Good morning my granddaughter,” Gran says as she gives me a hug.
“Morning, yes, the good part is still up for debate.”
Sam growls, “You know this is as good as it gets. Be happy we made it here!”
“Just keep your distance and we should be okay.”
Gran asks, “Why?”
Sam sighs, “Gran, it's so strong already. We don't remember anything from last night!”
Gran gasps, “None of you remember anything?” We all shook our heads. Gran says, “Wow!”
Simon comes in and asks, “Wow what?”
Sam sighs, “None of us remember shit from last night!”
Simon laughs, “I can't believe that you all got that drunk.”
Sam glares at him, “No! We didn't drink.”
Simon looks confused, “Then what?”
Sam grins and looks at me and I roll my eyes, “Oh I'm so not the reason, just stay away all of you!”
Simon gasps, “So you're all telling me that the Haze is so strong already that it wipes your memories of the whole night?”
We all yelled yes.
Eric explains further, “No glimpses, no vague ideas, no anything. It’s all blank!”
Simon yells, “Holy shit! Sam, you don't remember anything once it took over?”
Sam nods, “Yeah, I remember nothing.”
Simon shakes his head, “This isn't even normal for married mated pairs with pups!”
I blush and look away and Sam draws my attention back to him, “Eva, we are married.”
Vlad chuckles, “Be happy Katie isn't here to hear you say that!”
Gran asks, “Why is she upset? She was here. She had the cake.”
Vlad explains, “No ring no big ceremony.”
Gran nods in understanding, “Awe, she wants the romance of the union. It's been ages since we did one of those. Eva, is this what you want?”
I look at Vincent as he takes my hand, “I'm not changing my mind.”
Gran asks, “Oh, did I miss something?”
Vlad answers her, “Just losing your hearing for an hour because of Katie screaming about a real wedding when my brother proposed.”
Gran smiles, “So you finally admitted it. It's about time!”
Vincent gasps, “You knew?”
Gran grins, “Of course I did! You're all bound!”
“Vin!”
Vincent kisses me, “We might not need a detour.”
Sam huffs, “Might being the keyword!”
Vlad throws his hands up and yells, “I'm in hell! This is hell!”
Eric suggests, “You can always ride with the rest of the pack.”
“Now there's an idea!”
Vlad shakes his head, “No way! I'm not letting those fuckers have all of the fun!”
“Oh, there will be no fun! Stop looking at me!” I make myself invisible.
Eric sighs, “This is going to be a long day!”
Chris asks, “Why is my sis hiding from you all?”
Sam says, “She's playing keep away, bro.” He ports behind me and wraps his arms around me as he bites my neck.
“She thinks if she hides from us that we won't seek her out and take her. She couldn't be more wrong!” Sam says as he kisses me and I reappear, “We will always find you!”
Gran laughs, “Way of the wolf! And now vampire!”
We all laugh as the Kents come to join us. The search for the rogue is about to begin. I can sense their apprehension. They aren't concerned about my abilities as their Alpha anymore, but rather how much danger Dalton has put us all in.
They should be concerned if it is all linked to Raven as we suspect. This rogue is but another piece of this puzzle. Who is he? How does he fit into all of this? I'm about to find out!
***Sam’s POV***
It feels strange being back here. Something changed last night too. I believe that Gran knows more than she's saying, but why hold back? I know that soon Eva will have to limit her shift. As the pups grow, they need her in a stable form. She will have to choose human or wolf, but maybe not because she's a Goddess. I'm a natural Alpha, but a God? I have no clue how to be a God. I think the others are struggling with this concept too except for Eric. He's been incredibly quiet through all of this. Does he know something that we don't?
