Chapter 54 Every Moment is Yours
Evelyn’s fingers fumbled at the buttons of Roman’s shirt, her hands betraying her nerves no matter how hard she tried to steady them.
Roman watched her quietly, his gaze heavy and unblinking.
“Always so flustered,” he murmured, a smirk tugging at his lips as he caught her wrist mid-motion.
Evelyn frowned faintly. “Who’s flustered?” she muttered, trying and failing to pull her hand back.
“I do this all the time,” she added quickly. “Every morning. You just—don’t stare like that.”
Even she didn’t believe herself.
Tonight felt different. The air felt tighter and charged.
Roman didn’t release her. Instead, he guided her hand with his, calmly undoing the buttons himself, never once breaking eye contact.
Evelyn’s breath hitched.
His stare alone made her weak, heat curling low in her stomach, her knees threatening to give way. When she shifted unconsciously, Roman noticed immediately.
His smirk deepened.
“Lyn,” he whispered.
The sound of her name was enough.
She barely lifted her head before his lips claimed hers—warm, firm, and unhurried.
It started soft. Then deepened.
The kiss stole the air from her lungs, leaving her dizzy, pliant in his arms.
Evelyn melted into him, sighing as his mouth coaxed hers open, her body responding before her mind could catch up. His hand tightened around her waist, pulling her flush against him, grounding her and undoing her all at once.
Just as the moment threatened to spiral—
A calm voice filled the cabin.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Captain Laurent’s voice came smoothly over the speakers, “we’ll be preparing for takeoff shortly. Please take your seats and fasten your seatbelts.”
Roman reluctantly pulled back slowly, his forehead resting against hers for a brief second. His thumb brushed her lower lip once, before he stepped away, perfectly composed.
“Timing,” he murmured.
Her heart was still racing as she followed him to the seats, cheeks warm, pulse unsteady. She sank into the plush leather chair, fumbling slightly with the seatbelt.
Roman settled beside her with effortless calm, fastening his own belt and glancing at her like nothing had happened.
The engines grew louder, a deep, powerful rumble beneath them.
“This conversation isn’t over,” he said quietly.
“It’s just… postponed.”
The jet surged forward.
Evelyn’s breath caught as they lifted into the night sky.
—-
It was nearly three in the morning by the time the jet finally touched down.
Evelyn had fallen asleep long before then, curled slightly in her seat, her head tilted toward the window.
Roman had quietly reclined her chair when he noticed the stiffness in her posture, even though she’d stubbornly refused to go to the suite with him.
Now, the cabin was hushed, lights dimmed low.
As soon as the engines powered down, Leo appeared from the inner cabin, excitement written all over his face.
Roman shot him a sharp look.
Leo stopped instantly, pressing his lips together and lifting his hands in surrender before silently retreating a step.
Roman leaned over and carefully unfastened Evelyn’s seatbelt. Just as he slid an arm beneath her knees and another around her back, she stirred.
Her lashes fluttered.
“We’re here,” he murmured softly, his voice lowered just for her.
Evelyn blinked, disoriented for a second, then looked up at him. Her fingers instinctively curled into the front of his shirt.
“Already…?” she whispered, still half-asleep.
Roman hummed. “You slept through most of it.”
She frowned faintly, then rested her forehead against his chest, clearly too tired to argue.

Roman carried her down the steps
without pause.
The air outside was cooler than before, brushing against her skin as she shifted faintly in his arms. The night was quiet—no city noise, no crowds. Just the low hum of engines and open space.
A black SUV waited a short distance away.
Leo was already there, supervising the luggage as ground staff moved with silent efficiency. No one spoke unnecessarily.
Roman didn’t stop.
He opened the door and eased Evelyn into the back seat, adjusting her carefully. She stirred once, her fingers tightening briefly in his shirt before loosening again.
“Sleep,” he murmured.
She obeyed.
The door closed. The car pulled away smoothly.
They drove through unfamiliar roads, lights sparse and warm, the surroundings too calm to belong to anywhere she knew. When the vehicle finally slowed, it wasn’t at a hotel.
It was at a private house. Set back from the road
Roman stepped out first, lifting her into his arms once more as the door behind them opened to soft lighting.
—-
The next morning, Evelyn woke to Roman pressing soft kisses along her neck and cheek.
She groaned faintly, half-asleep. He always woke her like this. She’d complained at first, but he’d only told her to get used to it. Somewhere along the way, she had.
She shifted, trying to push him away, but he didn’t stop.
“Roman…” she murmured, her voice groggy. “Where are we?”
Only then did she really register the room.
The curtains were open, just like she liked, but there was no harsh sunlight pouring in. Instead, the light was muted, cool. The air felt different too—slightly damp, refreshing against her skin.
She inhaled slowly.
There was a faint floral scent in the air.
She frowned, curiosity waking her fully now, and tried to sit up. “This doesn’t feel like home.”
Roman finally pulled back, watching her with quiet amusement.
“Because It isn’t.”
That was when it registered that they were on their way to Vacation. Roman had been discreet with the location they were going, so she simply fell asleep.
Evelyn glanced toward the window, noticing the greenery outside, the calm stillness. No city noise. No rush.
“What’s that smell?” she asked.
“Flowers,” he replied simply.
She looked back at him, unimpressed. “Helpful.”
A corner of his mouth lifted.
“We’re in Italy,” he said. “By the coast.”
Her eyes widened slightly.
Roman leaned closer, brushing his thumb against her jaw. “You said you wanted to see everything.”
Evelyn lay back against the pillows, a slow smile spreading across her face.
“…Okay,” she said softly.
Evelyn let out a quiet laugh. “You really didn’t make me choose.”
Roman’s gaze softened in a way she rarely saw.
“Why would I?” he said. “When I can give you all of it.”
She stared at him, momentarily speechless. Her heart skipping. “All of it?”
“Every sunset, every city, every beach… every moment,” he said, leaning closer until she could feel the warmth of him brushing against her. His thumb traced a slow line along her jaw, making her shiver.
Her fingers twitched, resting on his chest, feeling the warmth beneath her touch. She wanted to lean in, wanted to feel him closer, and heat curled low in her stomach just thinking about it.
Roman smiled at her reaction, slow and knowing, letting his gaze roam her face. “You’re adorable when you realize just how much I spoil you,” he said, his hand brushing along hers, guiding it to rest against him.
“But… it comes with a price,” he murmured, his breath warm against her cheek.
She bit her lip, heart racing. “A price…?”
“Yes, Evelyn,” he said, eyes dark and intense, watching her reaction. “And I think you already know what I want.”
Her pulse jumped, a thrill curling through her. The look in his eyes, the way he was close enough that she could feel every subtle movement, made her breath catch.
