His Possessive Grip

His Possessive Grip
Ivy’s POV

Adrian’s gaze snapped to the door instantly—dangerous and furious. The look in his eyes said nothing but rage, at me, at himself for this risk we had taken.

He stepped in close, pressing his palm over my mouth before I could even breathe a sound. “Shhh… be quiet,” he whispered, his breath hot against my ear.

“Not a word.”

Another knock came louder this time with a force so hard it rattled the metal of the door handle as Cassian jiggled it.

My pulse thundered so violently it shook through Adrian’s grip. My knees weakened, ready to give out and betray me at any second. But his arm slid around my waist, forcing me to stand upright.

“Breathe,” he whispered, his lips touching mine. “Calm down. I’ve got you.”

The door handle shook again as Cassian’s voice thundered through, laced with suspicion. “Ivy. Open the damn door.”

I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting the urge to scream, to accept that Adrain and I were going to die tonight if Cassian caught us together.

Adrian leaned in, close enough that I could smell the danger on him and the scent of my own body still clinging to his clothes.

Before I could even comprehend it, he moved. Swift and calculated. He scanned the room, his hand never leaving my mouth until he spotted a narrow panel cut into the side wall—An emergency exit.

Relief hit me like a slap even though it was too fragile. Adrian pulled his hand away and pressed his lips to my ear one last time.

“I’ll be gone before he knows. But tonight…” His voice was low, rough, filthy with intent. “…tonight you’re mine again. I’ll fuck you so hard until you can’t stand it.”

Heat shot through me, traitorous but mixed with something else I didn’t want to accept. My thighs pressed together, shame mixed with desire as a faint smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.

His eyes burned into me as if he could already see me melting shamelessly under him. “Don’t you dare keep me waiting, Ivy. Midnight. Or I’ll drag you out of bed myself.”

Then he slipped through the emergency exit like a shadow, leaving behind a silence that was both terrifying and deafening.

I staggered to the sink, gripping the porcelain as if it could hold me together and then I splashed cold water over my cheeks to ease off the tension clawing its way into me.

I scrubbed at my skin like I could erase what I had allowed Adrian to do to me. But it clung—his scent, his fingers deep inside my clit, forcing shameless moans out of me.

Without thinking, I unlocked the door.

Cassian stood there, his eyes like those of a wolf circling its prey. Every inch of him screamed suspicion, even though he tried to conceal it with his charm, which managed to slide perfectly into place.

“Finally,” he drawled, pulling me towards him instantly. His fingers clamped around my arm, gripping and possessive. “You took your sweet time.”

I forced my lips into something resembling a smile, but it felt more like a fruitless attempt to cover up for the suspicion in his eyes. My throat would be filled with different lies I’d try to come up with.

Cassian’s gaze flicked past me, scanning the restroom as though he suspected that someone was in here with me. His jaw twitched and for one agonizing second, I thought he knew.

That he would storm past me, tear the walls down, and drag Adrian out from wherever he’d slipped away. But the room was empty. His suspicion narrowed into a smirk.

“You don’t get to keep me waiting, Ivy. Ever,” he said, leaning close to my face with his whiskey-heavy breath ghosted over my cheek. The words were laced with venom, sharp enough to cut without leaving blood.

I nodded too quickly and submissively just so that he would let go of me. But instead, he drew me closer, pressing his lips against the side of my hair, his hand gripping my thighs with a possessiveness that made bile rise in my throat.

“I should punish you for making me wait,” he whispered, his grip tightening as if to remind me who I belonged to now. “Do you know how dangerous that is, Ivy? To leave me wondering?”

His hand started to drift lower and I could feel heat rising inside me, but the wrong kind—suffocating, filthy, nothing like what Adrain did to me with his touch.

“The guest,” I breathed, words leaving my mouth before I could stop them. “Th….they’re waiting for us.”

Cassian paused. His smirk grows into something darker. And then, he released me, only to lace his fingers through mine, pinning me in a place.

“Of course,” he murmured, “Let’s not keep our precious guests waiting." And he dragged me back into the hall, every step stealing another piece of my air.

Inside, my body still couldn’t get over Adrain’s touch, but now every nerve recoiled in shame as Cassian’s hand dragged me back into the hall.

Applause rose faintly from the guests the moment we stepped in, the hum of music, laughter making my stomach twist even more.

Cassian raised our joined hands like a trophy, his smile broadening for the crowd. “Here she is,” he announced smoothly, “my future wife, glowing already.”

I lowered my gaze, the weight of his words choking me. Glowing my foot. If they only knew what had just happened behind that door.

But my eyes searched anyway, sweeping through the crowd and desperate for only one person. Adrian.

But he wasn’t among the crowd anymore. Not even his shadow in the corner piercing an emerald stare across the room.

He was gone.

I’m left all alone again—Terrified. Confused. His last words still ring in my ears like an annoying music that won’t stop.

Heavens help me…..because now I didn’t know if I was strong enough to resist.
