Collision

Collision
Ivy’s POV

Adrain didn’t move an inch, and neither did his grip on my arm. His jaw flexed, his breathing sharp and shallow. “And if I don’t? Let me guess, you’ll make me?”, he said through his teeth.

Cassian’s eyes darkened. “You seem to forget your place, Adrian.”

“My place?” Adrian shot back,  “You’re the one who’s forcing her to get married to you and call that love?”

The words snapped something in Cassian. I saw it in his eyes—the flicker of anger before it turned to something feral.

Before I could realize what was happening. Cassian lunged first. The impact was so sudden and violent that his shoulders slammed into Adrain’s chest, both of them crashing into the wall.

“Stop!” I cried, but my voice drowned under the chaos as Adrain shoved Cassian off him, his fist connecting with his jaw. The crack of his bone echoed and Cassian staggered back— a cold, cruel smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

He swung back, his punch landing hard against Adrian’s ribs. Adrian winced in pain and drove Cassian backward, slamming him into a table behind us.

“Adrian, stop!” I screamed, grabbing his arm. His body was trembling, muscles taut with rage, “Please!”

But he didn’t hear any words I said. He couldn’t. Cassian spat blood and laughed — “What does she see in you?” he taunted, “An animal pretending to be her savior?”

Adrian’s fist clashed against Cassian's face again. Cassian’s head snapped to the side, his lip splitting open. He staggered backward, grabbed a chair, and swung it.

Adrian ducked the chair and it missed by inches, shattering against the wall. Adrian caught Cassian by the collar and threw him to the floor. Adrian pinned him down, one hand around his throat.

“Say it again,” Adrian growled. “I dare her name to come out of your mouth.”

Cassian’s lips curved into a bloody smile. “She is mine.”

Adrian’s knuckles crashed into his face again with brutal force. Followed by a choked gasp that tore out of Cassian.

“Adrian, stop !” I shouted, grabbing his arm, pulling for him to stop.  “You’re going to kill him—”

“I should,” Adrian spat. “After what he—”

He didn’t finish his words before Cassian’s hand shot out, catching Adrian across the temple with a hard swing of something lethal.

“You never learn,” Cassian said as his chest rose and fell rapidly, voice trembling with rage. But before he could finish—

Adrian lunged again, and they collided into a tangle of fury and violence. I tried to separate them, but Cassian shoved me aside so hard I hit the wall. Pain shot down my shoulder.

“Stop!” I screamed again, but it was useless.

Adrian slammed Cassian against the wall, his forearm pressing across his throat. He struggled, gasping and clawing at Adrain’s arm to release him.

Without warning, Cassian’s hand dropped to his side. And I saw the dangerous glint of it before Adrain did.

A gun.

He pulled it out slowly as though the violence had finally reached its climax. “Enough,” Cassian hissed.

Adrian froze, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths as Cassian lifted the gun to his face, his gaze locked on Adrian’s. “Dare touch me again,” he said, his voice quiet — “and I’ll paint this floor with your blood.”

“Cassian, no!” I cried, stepping between both of them as my voice broke. “Please, don’t—” He didn’t even spare me a glance. The two of them stood locked in that instant moment, Adrain waiting for Cassian to pull the trigger as though he didn’t give a care in the world if he died.

The gun glinted between them like a promise. Cassian held it steady, his finger resting just near the trigger.

“Go on,” Adrian spat, “Do it. Show me that you got balls in between your legs.”

Cassian tilted his head slightly, his lips curving in that cruel, mocking smile I hated — the one that meant he’d already won, even when he hadn’t.

“Always so dramatic,” he drawled. “You think this is about you? You think I’d waste a bullet on a man who’s nothing but a pervert obsessed with his step-sister?”

“No?,” Cassian continued. “I’m I wrong about the fact that all you ever think about is fucking her?”

“Yes…you’re right about one thing for once in your worthless life,” Adrain shot back. “At least I don’t need to force her to be with me.”

A bitter laughter tore out of Cassian, low and dark. “Is that what helps you sleep at night? Pretending she’s madly in love with you

“Cassian,” I whispered, shaking my head. “Don’t—”

His eyes stayed locked on Adrian with an expression that was both calm and dangerous. “Tell me, Adrian,” he said, stepping closer to eliminate every bit of space between them.

“What exactly hurts more? That you can’t stand seeing her with me… or that I fucked her last night in a way you never could?”

Adrian’s face went pale. His voice trembled with fury. “Watch your mouth.”

Cassian smirked. “Why? Because it’s true? Because deep down, you can’t stand the thought that your perfect little step-sister…”

“Shut the fuck up!” Adrian roared, cutting him off before he could finish. The silence that followed was deafening. Adrian’s breathing grew louder and his knuckles clenched so tightly that they turned white.

I could see it — the restraint slipping from each one of them no matter how much they tried to hold it back. “You’re disgusting,” Adrian growled. “You twist everything until it fits your sickness.”

“And you’re a coward,” Cassian snapped, “Always have been. Hiding behind while you fucked her is something only cowards are capable of. You just want what you can’t have.”

Adrian stepped forward, both of them close to each other’s faces now. “You don’t deserve her,” he said, “You don’t even deserve to breathe the same air as her. You just want to own her…..

“….Like everything else in your life.”

Cassian’s eyes hardened into something darker. “And you think you do? You think you’re her savior? Newsflash, step-brother, you’re nothing but another man obsessed with something that won’t ever belong to you.”

“Belong?” A humorless laugh vibrated from Adrian’s chest.  “She’s not a possession.”

“She’s my possession now.” Cassian’s voice dropped to a whisper, cold and precise as the words hit like a gunshot before the real one even came.

Adrian lunged forward at him again—but Cassian was faster. He took a step back, lifting the gun higher with shaking hands.

“Don’t test me,” Cassian warned, his voice breaking just slightly. “I swear to God, I’ll shoot you right here.”
