Lila's Pov
The next day, I woke up so hungry and tired I had to walk straight up to the kitchen.
My tummy grumbled, it should have been the reason why I didn't eat much last night, I was too tired, and the same time felt very lazy about the whole thing.
I've had a long night yesterday, and I guess that should be the last time I'll be this stressed.
I don't think I'll be able to cope with that any longer.
The kitchen wasn't too far from the living room, it was just a few steps away from mine.
Just before I got in, I bumped into Vera.
“Jeez Lila, you scared he hell out of me. “
Her hands on her chest.
“I'm sorry Vera it's just that…
“ What happened?” .she looked worried, looking straight into my eyes.
“You wouldn't believe what I'm about to tell you.”
“Last night was so terrible, there was an undead attack in the kitchen.”
“What?.
“ How did that happen ?.”
She asked while trying to examine my physical appearance.
“Are you hurt?
“Do you feel pains anywhere?
“No I don't Vera I'm good thankfully.”
“Cauis came to my rescue.”
There was a brief silence, then she burst into laughter.
“Tell me your joking ,are you being serious right now.”
“Cauis has always acted weird around you, some sought of attitude I could barely understand.”
“Well it's a good thing your safe.”
“Does Ronan know about this ?. She asked.
“I don't think so, or maybe caius will tell him if at all he did.”
“I need to do a lot of monitoring also ensuring g you don't ever get hurt, ever again.”
“The king’s seal is on you Lila, no undead should ever be able to hurt or harm you ever again.”
“Not under my watch my darling.”
She smiled with a wide grin on her face.
“I think Cauis is not as bad as I thought he was, I mean he has always been there when I was in the hospital he ensured I was protected, asides him being under the control of Ronan.”
“And then last night ,he was also there.”
“I mean he saved me.”
“That could be enough reason why I still think he isn't that bad.”
“Well, if you say so.. I just don't want you to put your trust on Cauis. “
“Humans are liable to disappoint especially a man Lila.”
We both laughed.
“Yes I can agree with you. Well that's it Lila id love to spend more time with you some other time, but I have to do something urgent right away.”
“Break fast would be ready soon afterwards.”
“So… I'd love you to be a good girl for me, no troubles remember.”
“And trust no man.”
“Yes very important.”
I walked majestically to my room shutting the door behind me.
I wasn't able to tell Cauis thank you about last night.
He saved me, a little would have happened to me if he wasn't there.
And Ronan was also no where to be found.
“Could it mean he raised an alarm for the crisis.?
Cauis would be a good teammate to me, if only I could trust him one more time.
His facial expression, his looks everything about him reminds me of my childhood friend.
If Cauis could rescue me from an attack. I don't mind teaming up with him, even though Vera won't like the idea.
It's my life.
I thought.
I couldn't wait any longer, I had to get something to eat in the kitchen.
“I'm starving Vera”.
“Here have some, this will hold you up for some time”.
“Thank you.”
I quickly rushed the sliced banana bread Vera handed to me.
The door opened, Farah walks in.
Her dress looked a bit worn out , she'd been working with the gardener.
“Good morning Lila.”
“How are you doing today.”?
“I'm good what about you.”
“I'm doing okay I just need to get some food right away I still haven't finished my work.”
“Alright…. you can sit here besides me. “
I churned quietly before I popped out the question.
“Can I ask you something Farah.?
“Yes why not, I don't have a problem with that.”
“Alright good.”
“What do you know about the King's seal.?
“Hmmm.. this is really weird.”.
I guess she wasn’t expecting me to pop up the question.
“Alright since you mentioned it I'll just go ahead to explain.”
“The King's seal is a seal of protection that saves the wearer from an undead attack. “
“So you mean anyone who wears it is protected from any form of an attack.”
“Yes .. absolutely.”
“Okay .. so why do I have to be the chosen one for the king seal.”
“I mean anyone could wear it, you can wear it, Vera can also.”
“Well you see it's not just anyone who wears it “.
“Your special Lila”.
“That's the more reason Ronan put the seal on you.”
“Basically for protection.”
Also.. she continued.
“Your the only human in the castle. Every other person has their own origin.”
“We have different bodies were not human like you are.”
“Oh.. now I get. I nooded in affirmation.”
The undead are immortal they can live forever but they can be destroyed by certain magic.
“Like spells?
“More like spells magic that can destroy their existence.”
“Powers..
“You are so lucky to have the kings seal, every other person here would love to.”
“But you've been chosen by Ronan, he believes in your abilities.”
“He believes in you.”
“So you don't have any reason to worry or be scared.”
“She gently taps my shoulder.”
“Thank you Farah.”
“There was a bang on the door, it was Ronan's guard. He walked into the kitchen.”
“Lila.. your attention is being needed.”
“I quickly gulped my tea, I tried swallowing hard.”
“I guess we'll see some other time”.
“Yh sure.”
“I really enjoyed your company. “
“We hugged for some seconds. I had to leave them both in the kitchen while I followed the guard.”
“I walked in front of him heading towards Ronan apartment.”
“The door was a little bit shut from outside.”
“I quickly entered shutting the door behind me.
There was Ronan in his white rope he was happy to see me.
