CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
I watched in fascination and shock as her hair slowly transformed, from the roots of the soft strands, the white color gradually spread to the ends of her hair. Until everything was totally white, as white as snow, even her eyebrows had turned white.
"How? This is...."
I ran my fingers gently through the tresses, they felt soft and silky as I touched them. Staring at her face, I felt like I was staring into the face of an ethereal beauty, maybe a goddess.
"Is this Aurora?"
I muttered to myself. She looked so different, like the hair color change just boosted her beauty by fifty percent. Not that she hadn't been beautiful, no she was always beautiful. But it felt like...it just felt so unreal. I sat on the dusty ground with dried branches and fallen leaves surrounded by dense greenery. But none of that was able to distract me from the beautiful woman laying unconscious in my arms. Was this the famous Bloodline awakening?
"Damn." I muttered while sighing, "Good thing you had it here with me. I shudder at what would have happened if someone else had been here before me."
I pretty much knew it would go two ways if it had been someone else. If it had been a man, and she would have been forced to either marry him or be his mistress. Then if it has been a woman, and she would have been either sold off or forced to work as a sex slave.
Oh well, if I was going to stay here for a long time, I had to make myself comfortable. I pulled out my legs, stretching them straight in front of me. With my head resting against a tree, I drifted off to sleep, letting my weary body rest from my stressful search.
Aurora's light moaning pulled me up from my sleep and had me unconsciously tightening my hands on her.
"Aurora?"
I peered into her face as her eyes twitched, I could make out her eyeballs moving underneath her eyelids.
"Are you awake?" I lightly shook her.
"Mmmm." She moaned again, then slowly, her eyes opened.
"Oh my god!"
I gasped as my soul was pulled into the golden pool of her eyes. It felt like I was staring right at the sun. Her eyes were no longer their almond green color but now a vibrant gold that shimmered under the sunlight and pulled you in the more you stared into it.
"Aurora...your eyes..." I whispered in a shaky voice that almost cracked. "....so beautiful."
She blinked numerous times, her pupils slowly adjusting to the light, probably from days in that dark room. She stared at me with narrowed eyes, I felt her hands twitch. Then she sat up with lightning speed as recognition dawned on her face.
"Lucian?" She called out.
I still held her close, a smile on my lips, I couldn't help it.
"Aurora. It's me."
Her breath whooshed out of her as she brought out her hands and gently held my face. With a contented sigh, I closed my eyes and leaned into her hands.
"I'm so happy to see you Lucian." She whispered softly. "So happy."
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I opened my now misty eyes to look at her. She was staring at me with gentle and softly eyes. Though the color was different, I still felt the familiar feeling coming from them. An unbearable urge to hug her suddenly overtook me. I didn't waste anytime and instead pulled her hurriedly into my chest, burying my nose in her neck. I took a deep sniff of her calming scent and let out a growl.
"Don't ever try to leave me again."
"W..what?" She asked stiffly in my arms, her back straight.
"I know you were going to leave me and move to Kieran's pack. What were you thinking?" I grumbled, then I bit her softly at the place where her pulse was beating.
She made a strangled noise, I felt her body shiver beneath me, it made me grin in delight.
"I'm....I'm sorry...." She gasped again when I licked her neck. "...s...stop that...I won't do it again..." She almost yelled.
I gave one last bite and raised my head to look at her. Her face was red and her eyes were a bit dazed as they stared at me.
"You promise?".
She nodded furiously, I feared if she nodded any faster, her neck might fall off.
"I...I promise. I was being a coward and I accept that. I shouldn't have thought leaving the pack...and you would be a good idea."
A smile spread across my face, I reached a hand out to caress her face. Then I brought a few strands of her hair to my lips and kissed it.
"What the! This....is that my hair?" Her eyes bulged as she stared at the strands on my hands.
"Yes." I smiled, looking her deep in the eyes. "It seems like you have successfully awakened."
Her eyes went wide as she squirmed on my lap, a certain little brother began to rise up. Shit! She has to stop soon or I won't be able to help myself.
"R....really? I've awakened? So that's what Willow was telling me."
That calmed me down quickly. I became alert, my eyes flashing dangerously.
"Who is Willow?"
"Oh, she's my wolf."
"Ah, I see."
A laugh sounded from her, she was looking at her hair like some sort of treasure, a childish wonder in her eyes. What would she do when I told her about her eyes? Should I tell her or should I just wait for her reaction?
"I really love this color. I never thought the awakening could do this." She giggled.
Nope, I'm not telling her, she'll find out by herself.
I let her admire her hair for some time until she felt satisfied. Then I cleared my throat.
"Now tell me, how are you feeling? And I mean, really feeling? Any pain, abnormalities?" I asked worried, letting my gaze rake her whole body. She seemed perfectly fine, aside the died blood stains.
She blushed and lowered her head.
"I'm very fine....to be honest. I didn't expect to feel this fine...not from what I've been going through anyway."
My heart tugged at her words, I clenched my fists.
"I'm sorry for This Aurora. I promise I'll find the rest of the guys that did this to you."
As I said that, she suddenly froze, her eyes going wide as something flashed through her eyes, like horror.
"Aurora? What is it? Are you okay?"
Slowly, she turned to look at me, her face now suddenly pale as her small hands took mine.
"Lucian....your father....no....Alpha Desmond is alive!"
