Chapter 61 61
CHAPTER SIXTY-ONE
AURORA'S P.O.V
"Even if it is for the sake of a certain surviving relative of yours?"
I stared at him, my eyes not blinking.
"What do you mean?"
He shrugged.
"I'm just saying, by doing what I want you could be saving the life of someone that shares your blood, someone you would like to met, I'm sure."
"My relative?"
"Yes."
My lips trembled.
"Liar. I don't have any family, I'm an orphan remember? You can't use that trick on me. I won't fall for it!" I yelled.
"And what makes you so sure that I'm lying?" He continued, unfazed by my outburst.
I laughed, a crazy laugh that even surprised me. My eyes felt hot at the implication of his words. How could he claim he had my relative. Didn't he know that topic was too sensitive?
"I know everything, Desmond." I gritted, ditching the alpha title.
An eyebrow rose up, he tilted his head to the side.
"What do you know?" He asked, his voice in a casual tone, clearly amused.
"I know I'm from a very powerful clan, the original Bloodfang Pack which I know is extinct. I also know that I am the last surviving member of that clan and that the reason you have been trying to kill me is because you fear what I might do when I finally unlock those traits only known to my clan."
The color on his face drained as he stood up, his hands trembled as he opened his mouth.
"Who...how did you know?"
I snorted.
"Your wife, Eleanor told your son...oh forgive me, your ex son, Lucian. I have known a long time ago, even before you put Lucian in that damn dungeon."
"Arrrrg!"
He suddenly roared and leapt towards me, I felt my face snapping to the side as pain lanced through my cheek. I once again tasted that metallic taste of blood in my mouth, I spit it out and looked at him. He was standing in front of me, his hands trembled, his chest rising up and down in fast heaves. His eyes shinning as they stared at me.
"Fine, let's agree you do know that. But do you know, that I was the one?"
"The one? What one?"
"The one who wiped them all out." His lips then spread in a wide grin and he began to cackle, throwing his head back like a mad person.
I felt a ringing in my head as I processed the information.
"No way. It can't be you. Eleanor said you were the one who found me."
"I was never the one who found you. The one who found you is gone, killed by my own hands."
"What..." I felt my pulse quicken. "Who?"
"My twin brother of course. The fool looked just like me, he was the one who saved you. He was also that brat Lucian's father. I made him sleep with her and he never knew."
I couldn't say anything as I watched him. Were these the words of a mad man?
"You don't believe me, I see. No one ever believes me. The same people who gave birth to me, threw me away. My parents, and then when I came back to reclaim their love, they denied me and chased me away because of that damn prophesy."
I gasped. He had been abandoned by his own family.
"I killed them. They never expected it but I killed them. Then I used my black powers to control that stupid brother of mine." He focused his face on me, his eyes red. "The day he found you was the day I finally killed him."
He cackled again.
"And as for how I killed your people, all it took was a simple poison made from their own blood. I put it in their food and bam! They die, the ones that survived were already weak and easy to be killed by my men. I did it all! Ha ha! With them dead, there would be no prophesy but then you still survived."
I felt my face contorting in a mixture of grief, shock and rage.
"No...no...no....it can't be..." I chanted in a whisper.
My entire body began to shake, my hands clenching around the chains binding me. He was joking, he had to be lying. But the gleeful look in his eyes said the opposite. So my loneliness, the reason I was without a family, was all due to the person laughing in front of me. A choked sob escaped my lips followed by a scream that pierced through the air, echoing off the walls of the dark place I sat.
"Why! Why! You monster! They never did anything to you! They weren't responsible for your plight! Your parents....are your parents! Did you have to bring my people in this?! I hate youuuuu!!!"
I let out a primal wall, the agony of my loss poured out of me like an uncontrollable wave. With tears streaming down my face, I raised my head to look at him.
"I curse the day you were ever born! Your parents made the right choice in throwing you away and denying you. You were never meant to be human, you bloody monster!"
His face turned red at my words.
"Shut up, you filthy rat!"
He brought the remote and pressed it. My body stiffened at the pain but it was nothing compared to the pain and anger I was feeling right now. I started laughing, soft at first then loud and harsh as I watched him furiously press the button.
"You will never get what you want! If I have to stop you myself, I will, even if I die trying."
As I spoke, I felt my body thrashing and trembling, though it wasn't me doing anything.
"I will never forgive you! I won't stop until you're dead and gone from this world."
The chains around me began to rattle loudly, my body now was shaking so much that I couldn't say anything anymore.
"What? What is happening?" Desmond's voice sounded faraway but panicked.
I screamed loudly as I felt something hot ripping into my body, it felt like a door was trying to open but I tried to push it back.
"Let it happen Aurora."
"W...Willow?" I gasped in pain.
"Let it happen." Her soft voice whispered to me again.
Throwing my head back in agony, I screamed and willed whatever was happening to happen.
"Ahhhhh!"
I felt my body go warm, I embraced it. I had never felt this warm before. My body was telling me to sleep but I still wanted to be awake.
"Impossible!" Desmond roared, his voice raw with anger. "You can't awaken!"
His voice annoyed me and I wished I could hit him with something hard, as soon as he said that, he screamed and landed with a thud somewhere.
I felt my eyes closing gradually from sleep, but just before I closed my eyes, I heard something crashing to the ground like a door being pushed to the ground, then someone screaming my name. Was it a dream? That voice.
"Aurora!"
