CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY
AURON'S P.O.V
"We misunderstood and misjudged you."
"We pledge our undying loyalty to you."
They said solemnly, my chest felt tight and full at the sight in front of me. I don't think I ever felt this much loyalty directed at me from them or anyone. It was just fear and respect that I always sensed. I rushed and helped them to they're feet, they gazed at me with high reverence.
"Thank you for pledging your loyalty to me. I'm honored and trust me, you won't regret it." Then I smirked at both of them. "Now that you have e pledged yourselves, you are not going anywhere..." A look of uncertainty crossed they're features, then I burst into a grin and held out my hands. "...because you are my friends now, we're stuck together for life. Come on, bring it in."
They didn't hesitate and immediately surrounded me in a group hug, I felt they're tight grip and knew that they were finally happy that their alpha was connecting with them. We separated and I slapped their backs, they did so to me, Derek was the first person to laugh before we followed suit.
"I'm happy Auron, thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me."
Gail's hand shot up.
"And to me."
"And also to the pack, because I intend to make some changes around here." I smiled, "But first, I have something to tell you."
They both gazed at me, leaning slightly forward in anticipation of what I was about to say.
"As you all know, I brought Aurora, who I discovered to be my twin sister a.long time ago, here to take...to take her powers because I had none and I felt I was the one most suited to have the powers. Right?"
"Yes?"
I cleared my throat, fighting the smile that was brimming on my lips.
"Well, it turns out I don't need to do that anymore because I already have my own powers."
I shook my head and raised a hand, staring at it.
"I've been searching for them for a long time...so long, I was willing to do anything to get them. Even take them from my innocent, sweet sister."
I raised my hands, and the air around me began to ripple. A burst of flames erupted from my right hand, dancing and crackling with energy. The fire was intense, but it didn't seem to be burning anything around it. At the same time, a stream of water shot out from my left hand, curving and twisting in mid-air. The water seemed to be suspended, as if it was trapped in a bubble, and it began to swirl around the flames. The fire and water danced together, creating a mesmerizing display of opposing elements. The flames seemed to be feeding off the water, growing stronger and more vibrant, while the water seemed to be trying to extinguish the flames, but couldn't quite manage to do so. As I moved my hands almost like in a trance, the display changed, the fire and water swirling and combining in a beautiful, intricate pattern. The flames seemed to be taking on a life of their own, leaping and bounding across the water, creating a stunning display of light and sound. Finally, I clapped my hands together, and the display ended, leaving behind a trail of steam.
"Whoa!" I Whispered, staring at my hands like they were a strange entity. I just did that by myself, no one taught me.
"Whoa is right." Derek nodded, swallowing, his eyes still shinning from the display.
Gail was bouncing on his seat.
"Thay was epic! Like so cool, oh my gosh, do it again."
"Ahem!" Derek cleared his throat, Gail shook his head, looking sheepish.
"Sorry." Then he looked serious, "...carriy on."
"How were you able to get yours? We know how much you liked to have it and how long you waited." Derek asked.
I rubbed my hands together, generating fiction between my palms.
"Well, all it took was me listening to my sister, finding the truth and reuniting with her for me to get it." I let out a short sigh. "If only I haven't been too focused on trying to take revenge on her for something she didn't do, I would gotten it a long time." Then I smiled, "And we would have been closer a long time ago."
"You mean...you are good with her now?" Gail almost yelled, Derek had to slap his arm to shut up. "Sorry. Elder Mikhail told us that she was the monster and not a good person. And if we ever saw her near the pack, we should capture her and not let her go."
I clenched my fists.
"He did, didn't he?"
Derek nodded.
"Yes, he specially said she was the cause of your powerless state and deserved to face the consequences."
My gaze snapped to him, fast and sharp so much that he flinched a bit.
"What consequences?"
He shrugged and shook his head.
"He wouldn't tell us, he just said he would be happy once he sees her defeated. Whatever he meant."
"I can't believe it, I had a monster with me all these while and I thought he had been my family, only to find out that he's just bidding his time."
Derek was silent for a while.
"Auron, can you please tell us what's going on."
"Fine, I'll tell you. But if you see Elder Mikhail, you have to pretend like everything is still okay, is that clear. Don't let your behavior spill what you have heard." I was serious and they knew it.
"Its a promise, Alpha."
I grunted and began telling them how I had discovered that all the things he had told me about Aurora had been a lie, I told them my reunion with her and her mate and also her friends. I also told them about Aurora's life and how it was similar to mine. She was not the spoilt butch that Elder Mikhail had been leading us to believe. How they were nice people and wouldn't hurt anyone that didn't deserve it.
"Everything Elder Mikhail told me was a lie. I feel like he's been playing me all along."
