CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FOUR
AURORA'S P.O.V
I closed my eyes as I rested beside Lucian on another sofa, leaning my head against his shoulders. Everyone else, except Kieran and Kale, sat on the bed to wait. As the minutes tickled by, I couldn't shake the feeling of nervousness in my stomach. I mean, what if he proves difficult to convince? What if he still doesn't believe me? To be honest, I don't really care if he still wants my powers after this, I just want him to understand and know the truth and accept me as his sister that I am. He is literally my only surviving blood relative. Why hasn't he woken up anyway?
I grumbled internally, fidgeting with my dress as I glanced at him, still unconscious. Lucian seemed to sense my unease and he wrapped a firm arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his warmth. I took a deep intake of his scent to calm me down.
"Is he going to keep sleeping? Shouldn't he be better waking up by now?" Lucian growled, his voice tight with tension. Eli looked at him,
"You asked for something strong, he still has maybe a few hours before he can wake up."
A collective groan rang out from everyone. Mirabel shot up from the bed and rummaged in her side pocket, a smile on her lips as she mutters.
"I somehow had a feeling that this was going to happen, that's why I brought...this." She brought out another smaller vial, this time filled with blue liquid. We stared at the bottle.
"What's that?" I asked.
She shot me a grin.
"A potion that will wear off the first potion he drank, in other words, this is the antidote."
"You had that all these while and you didn't say anything?" Jake threw up his hands, many of us nodded, even Shawn gave her a tired glare.
She ducked her head sheepishly, making her way over to Auron.
"Sorry, I didn't think he would take this long to wake. I guess the potion was much stronger than I thought. Here we go." She opened his mouth and dumped the contents down his throat, then she stepped back. "That should wake him up in some time."
In less than a minute, we watched as his body began twitching softly, then he began to stir. His eyelashes fluttered open staring into the air, most of them gasped.
"His eyes are red." Mirabel gasped.
"Just like Aurora's" Jake gasped.
"Not exactly, Aurora's eyes are golden, like the sun, his are more...deadly?" Kale answered, tilt his head.
The room was once again quiet as he began to take in his surrounding, slowly, his eyes moved round the room, confusion etched on his face. As soon as they met mine, he gasped, his eyes going round, he made toove bit was held back. That's when he looked down and saw that he was bound to the chair in chains.
"What the? H...how?" He groaned while trying to move, his voice laced with confusion and disbelief. He looked at me then glared at the people in the room, his face going pale then red with anger as he once again glared at me with so much hate in his eyes.
"H..hello Auron." I called out softly.
"Don't!" He growled harshly, "Don't you dare say my name." Then he looked down at himself and tugged the chains. "I clearly...I clearly took you away...I was about to leave..." He immediately winced, loading his head and closing his eyes. "My...my head."
I guess the hit from Jake and Kale must have been really strong for him to still feel it.
"Auron, you're here because we need to talk to you, so I would advise that you calm down." Lucian told him, eyeing him carefully.
A snort sounded from Auron, "Advice? You're advicing me? Who the fuck do you think you are to do that?" He glared at him. "Why am I here? Why am I fucking chaindd to a chair?"
As he growled, he moved his body furiously, struggling to break the chains. But the chains only dug deep into his skin, leaving deep red burns. I panicked and jumped forward, yelling.
"Auron, please calm down, you'll hurt yourself. The chains are made with silver."
But he just kept struggling, his face twisted in anger and pain.
"You're not my sister!" he spat, his voice venomous. "You're a monster, just like everyone says! Don't you dare pretend like you care about me when you just want me dead."
I felt a pang of hurt, but I tried to stay calm, losing my cool would only made this worse.
"Auron, please listen to me, your hitting yourself. You're hurting, I know that, but if you will just calm down and let me..."
"I do not bloody care about anything you have to say. Just get these chains off me or kill me. Get on with it."
"A...Auron..."
Lucian came to stand in front of me, I cold see that he was angry. His jaw was clenched and his body stuff as he balled his hands into fists.
"Aurora, are you really sure you want to speak to him? He is definitely not in tgeood to listen to you."
I nodded immediately, swallowing with difficultly, myind made.
"I'm going to talk to him, one way or the other and it's going to be now."
"Monster! Murderer! You're nothing but a fraud and a liar! I wish you had died, then I would have been the one that saved. But instead, they saved you and note! I was abandoned, because of you! Nothing you can tell me is going to change that you bi..."
I felt my patience wearing thin, and I was about to scream at him when Talia suddenly muttered a curse and stepped forward, then slapped him across the face, hard.
"Shut up and listen to her, you idiot!" she shouted, her eyes flashing with anger, her body trembling. "You have no right to call her names, you god damn son of a bitch! I wish I could strangle you with my hands but unfortunately, you are my best friend's twin brother so I'm going to hold it in and try to do nothing damaging to you..."
